  4. I'm always somewhere in between a fair bit and an awful lot of pain due to my neuropathy, on top of the aches from using muscles way more than i do usually. But I'm almost always elated also. Even the fuck ups, mine or other people's, don't get me down afterwards, though yeah, there have been a few proper cringers at the time. There was the time I fell forward while trying to get up and instinctively put my hand out to steady myself, so leaned my full weight on top of the BFG I was trying to escape from just as it went off... the time i did a proper banana-skin-esque feet right out from under me due to BB's stuck in the tread of my boots while running on wet lino indoors at The Stan - thankfully i didn't land on my coccyx just one arse cheek, so i was able to scramble forward into cover, because it would have been even worse if it had got me hit! I'm usually considering what got broken or lost as well as what i could have done better and also reliving the best bits, talking to Stef who usually gives me a lift, hearing about the day from behind the counter, etc, having a giggle at my or someone else's expense. When I actually get through my door the only kit I take care of right away is to empty my mid-caps so their springs don't get left compressed and often I'll also dry fire my guns until i'm happy with where in the cycle the gearbox stops. But literally the 1st thing i do when i get through the door is strip, take my boots to the bathroom (because the floor is easiest to clean so any mud etc makes no odds) then put the kettle on. I leave all the rest of my kit and clothing on the floor where it drops in a pile so that I must deal with it as soon as the degree of my pain has lessened (which can take a couple of days - there is a limit to how much pain meds my liver will stand, so the next day i can't take much, which means basically a duvet day). Then I take as much more painkillers as i think my liver can handle and get in bed. Often I fall asleep fairly quickly, but if not, as the analgesia kicks in I get the horn. I'm sure it's because I so rarely get any exercise, so any adrenalin rush reminds my knob that I am still alive...

You off road cyclists are cool, because you respect the road. Most lycra-wearing road cyclists disregard all cars and come flying around downhill corners in the middle of the road then if they hit a car, they take the driver to court. Yesterday one of the guys stopped to have a drink in the middle of a bloody t-junction up here then gave my mum a dirty look when she told him to move. Yeah, I saw Mr. MacAskill do his thing. Was incredible. 10/10.

    Night ops

Also a really good way of painting a 'shoot here' sign on yourself! Move slowly and deliberately, use your torch sparingly and only for target ID/engagement. If it's really really dark (tree cover, no moon) then take a low power red torch to help you see where you're going, but again use it sparingly.

  12. It's a consistency thing... Somethings overly worn, or low quality. Air seal can be fixed at home, as can most other issues. I would really suggest a new bucking, then better hop unit first off... The inconsistency in airflow will make a difference to a new hop, but much less than a bad hop will have on a consistant air seal... It's the best part to upgrade for this sort of issue. It also requires very little "tech" work. Stock barrels are good enough Stock internals are generally good enough (bad manufacturers not withstanding) Stock hops... Usually prone to wear and distortion. It's probably something as simple as a worn bucking... Or... Send it off to someone to look at... I'm not sure it's a warranty issue... Depends how old the gun is... To go through your thoughts... 1) I wouldn't sell up for such a small issue. And barrel length will have very little effect on the accuracy in a normal gun (generally speaking). My M4, after work can do head shots at 50m ish and that has a cqb length barrel 2) if your gun is young enough to potentially be in warranty... It's highly unlikely the spring has gone... Your just losing the power you do have... Either through the front or back of your hop. Possibly internally, but unlikely... 3) I'm not sure it's a warranty thing... Check with your supplier. 4) a barrel won't hurt, but it won't fix your accuracy issue... Not by the amount you need to reduce groupings by 3ft at 30m If I were you, I would do bucking, test, possibly hop chamber... Test... Come back... I would imagine it's just the bucking, though.

    Any WoT players?

5x XP weekends seem to bring out all the numpties on WoT, So yesterday I got a ridiculous win in my Super Pershing. 8629xp, 11 kills, Ace Tanker, Mastery, Sharpshooter, Steel Wall (potential damage received was 9k including bouncing an SU152 3 times at point blank), Invader and Pool's (there were more, but those are the ones i can remember) - Total Damage was over 7k including a Tiger II I set on fire causing an essentially 1 hit kill - No Prammo at all.

  15. your grouping at 30m should be dinner plate sized at most, there's definitely something going on. you say the FPS is between 290 and 315, does it jump about in that range between shots or is that just from 2 separate occasions at a chrono? if it's not consistently shooting with a 5-10fps variance or less you've most likely got an air seal issue somewhere. I'd also recommend having a good look at your hop rubber, a worn or ripped (even the tiniest amount) rubber can cause huge accuracy issues. Cleaning the barrel is of course a standard maintenance thing, I expect you've already done it, if not, give it a go, it'll help. However, if the gun's still in-warranty, call the retailer and ask them what to do about it. Most likely they'll say that guns deteriorate over time and that it's standard wear and tear, depending on how long you've had it and how much you've used it they may be right. They'll almost certainly be able to offer to give it a bit of a tune-up and get it back to new though.

eBay sellers who don't live up to expectations. When ordering my item, which MUST be with me tomorrow (or I'll be permanently 3 billion miles from where it's being delivered and the item will be no use to me) in the morning: 'I DUN PROMISS YUR ITEM BE DISPECHED SEM DAY FUR NEXT DAY DELIVREE COZ YOW URDER IT BEFOR 2IN DE AFTANUN' Later that day... 'YUR FING IS IN DA POOOST AN WIL BE SEND TO YUO TUUMORRO FUR DELIVRY NEXT DAY I WIL TRAKIN INFURMASHON WHEN IS POSTED' WHAT. eBay seller man, you had ONE job. Christ sake, almost as bad as feckin printers.

    The happy thread!

BACK FROM THE DEAD. POW. Over the last months at work, I've had a customer who refuses to pay his bill (I work at a storage center). Increasingly, he's been a nob to me, despite my best efforts to help him out of the deep hole he's got himself into. Today, he finally decided to try and pay his bill (although not the late charges and admin fees he owes, and even then, only half his bill anyway) whilst giving me some more abuse. I got to enjoy the look of despair on his face when I told him half his stuff had been sold for approximately £2000 and the rest had been crushed and then incinerated. I also got to enjoy him flipping out on the phone to his lawyer, because the stuff was worth over £35,000 to him and his company and his bill was only £2700. After that, I got to enjoy his lawyer telling him it was all his fault and that we had every right to go to debt collection for the remaining £700. The lesson? If you entrust someone with £35,000 worth of gear, and owe them £2700 for looking after it. Don't piss them off 'cause they have all the cards. Usually, I wouldn't bask in the joyous aura created by the misery of others, but this man deserves it and it goes some way to making up for the fact that my job is sh*t.

  18. I have a T4-18 and I am pretty unhappy with the range and accuracy. At 30m the spread of fire is at least 3 feet horizontally and more vertically. I really can't get any more range out of it, the rounds drop off shortly after that. Since getting the gun FPS has dropped from 315 to 290 and I can literally see the inconsistency in the hop being applied to each round, its taking a lot of overhop to reach that far at all and accuracy is impacted as its impossible to zero the gun properly due to the high flight path BBs take at that range, I am using a substantial hold to be able to fire at all. Online accuracy tests with my gun reviewed and others seem to suggest mine is not achieving what you would expect, groupings down to the inches at 30m would be a dramatic improvement. I can't hit a human in the open at 30m at all, so I am fairly certain the gun is not functioning as it should. From tests I have done indoors at 10m my accuracy has dropped off. Initially I could get 1 inch groupings, now its more like 4 inches at the same range as before. Chronograph tests show a fairly stable FPS, its not varying by more than about 5fps across 10 shots, so I think the air seal is consistent but I would have to void the warranty to do an airseal test on the cylinder/piston/head. I have a couple of thoughts about how to go from here: 1) Just get a different gun and sell the T418 CQC. One thing I keep seeing on forums is that accuracy tends to be best around 450mm inner barrel length, below that there is a reduction (how much I don't know) and past that it can have no benefit or even be a bit worse. Thus I would likely replace it with a more standard M4 instead of the CQC model I have now which is only 350mm. 2) Replace the hop bucking, replace the spring to restore power (site is 350 fps so 110 spring) and potentially upgrade the barrel. Void my warranty and try and get the gun to function better with upgrade parts. If the air seal turns out to be an issue then do cylinder head (Double O ring), piston head and fit a nozzle replacement and get that air seal behaving as it should. Would have to keep the cylinder do to the EBB. 3) Should this sort of problem be covered by the warranty and hence I should just send it back for repair? 4) All of (2) + a new inner barrel. The G&G top techs are meant to have 6.03 tightbore barrels already, so I am wondering if I should get a higher quality 6.03 like a Prometheus or PQI and whether that will be a decent improvement. Will replacing the bucking help as well? I am certainly considering trying a G hop since its relatively simple to do and the current hop looks like its terribly inconsistent. I don't really know what to do with my lemon gun, my opponents have more range and better accuracy in these moderate range engagements and I am loosing engagements I ought to win if the gun was more accurate. I am typically using 0.25g Blaster BBs if that makes any difference here (ie decent quality somewhat heavier BBs although I have bought some 0.28g Blaster Devils to try as well). Thoughts?

The trick with the opposite sex is training. Positive reinforcement works well 'Oi sweetcheeks, I'm buying another gun' If she tells you to f**k off, spray her with a water bottle and tell her again. She'll either kick you in the nuts (repeat the water bottle once you've stopped throwing up), or she'll kick you in the nuts till you feel bad enough you buy the gun anyway whatever she says (WARNING: BUYING THE GUN ANYWAY MAY LEAD TO BEING KICKED IN THE NUTS).

    What camo.....

British uniform is MTP NOT Multicam. Like Multicam it's not actually designed specifically for UK countryside and as such is not actually as effective in traditional airsoft woodland sites as DPM (or indeed flecktarn). But that's never stopped anyone dressing up as a Navy SEAL either so what the hell.

    Gun painting.....

Dave from maple leaf tactical did a really good tutorial on this a while back. http://thereptilehouseblog.com/ Rich from The Reptile House (you should all be following this blog, srsly) also features lots of painted guns and is worth a look at for inspiration. As for which paints to use, I really, really rate the halfords camo paints, but krylon is also really good. If you can get it, Tamiya Ultra Flat (XF series) are the best thing since sliced bread.

The other side was no better tactical vantage than where we were, he did it apparently because 'we were in his way'. Our respawn was literally 10 feet behind him so I shot him in the back of the head when I spawned. He did say sorry afterward saying he though I was one of his mates that went with him. We all look the same when we wear camo in a dark tunnel...

  42. I usually feel sore and tired regardless. Some days I'll be buzzing, some I'll wish I had my money back. Often I don't like to think on the mistakes of the day, on the same day. I like to leave a bit of time and sleep before reflecting on it all, not least because it gives my emotions a chance to have been worked out on my favourite blow-up doll. The thing that can weigh the most on my thoughts is what I should have said to other players... Not the non-hit takers or the like, but often people on your own team who try to ruin things by thinking they are Sgt. Ermey or something. Hard-charging leaders (not commanders - leaders) I welcome... But I don't like geardo arm-chair generals who think that the most expensive RIF, 'authentic' load-out and a high number of Battlepacks on BF mean they can stand at the back of a skirmish (they usually stand at the back) yelling abuse, often at noob or rental players to 'f*cking attack for f*ck sake' etc etc, regardless of the actual situation or what it may accomplish (or not). I regret not giving them a Christopher Walken style diatribe, telling such tubs of sh*t to calm down, shut up, show some tactical finesse beyond a Lord Cardigan-esq level of creativity, to show some respect to the total strangers they're yelling at (who've paid good money to be at the site), and to put their money where their mouth is and lead by example, and show us how it's done. But then I move on, and reflect on how I let some dude get an angle on me that I really shouldn't etc... It's all lessons learned.

Wont live that down on site for a long, long time!!! After: Tired; But elated. Sort kit out. Sort Self out. Sort scoff out. Spent Saturday afternoon going through my 'gun' and kit bag to try and cut down on the amount of kit I takeout and ended up adding more!

  44. I often feel completely and utterly wrecked after games, especially if it's a 12/27 hr milsim. My legs give out and everything aches. The way it's supposed to be! On bringing things over,I have one gun bag which I keep in the car. Tent clips on the side of a small rucksack, which is a tiny little thing with only the essentials-socks,''field rations'', tools, spare gun parts and a change of clothes. Usually it's around 5kg of weight so I can hike around with it and still be relatively mobile. Thing I regret doing is bringing a glowstick to my first 27hr game. Fucker was a lemon, plastic was bubbly and it was obviously not structurally sound. On the jeep ride to the FOB at night I decided to break it open. Enter premature ejaculation. Covered myself and a few guys in that foul smelling shit the chinese pack into those things.
