yes..it's ugly although I think it looks better than the ARX160 which reminds me of a Salmon with an M4 mag stuck in it!1 point -

THE TM MWS thread
StayOnTarget reacted to Whisky1 for a topic
So with the lockdown, I've been drilling alot. At first i found the mws trigger to be okay, but after a year of shooting I'm now ready for an upgrade. Does anyone have a review on any triggers? I like the look of the g&p adjustable but thats alot of cash for something that has very little information out about it. My misses decided to record me on the sly so thought I'd share. ?? No ones being a cock, if you had bothered to look around before you put your advert up you would have known there was a great community spirit here, an appraisals section and this thread. Just putting up a random number is not going to win you any favours and hopefully not going to get you any interest or sales. This thread is here for the regulars to have some lighthearted banter about wishful thinking like your original listing. A lot of the time advertisers like yourself make their way into here and either throw their toys out of the pram or take things on board like you have. Based on the value and the extras (admittedly not worth a great deal extra to 70% of buyers) I would say asking for £200 like you have changed it too is more realistic but I would expect to pay about £150 TOPS as that is about 60% value of the total costs new. And not a personal dig but WTF is wrong with the world if throwing up a random number thats double what something cost onto any sort of advert/marketplace? is this really the accepted norm on bookface? bloody hell!!1 point

@Airsoft Anonymous Ltd actually have a service where you can request a little cardboard certificate that congratulates you on your "Prize". Brilliant1 point

I'm calling it now. In the future all guns will have the following options when being bought: 1) Two tone 2) A receipt that matches what you told your partner you paid for the gun(s)1 point

Rule 1 of airsoft: Every gun was £40-50 second hand / was won in a raffle Rule 2 of airsoft: No receipts1 point

We have all been there!! My other half still thinks that both of my TM MWS rifles are worth about £100 in total.....?....... or at least I think that is what she thinks1 point

That's fair enough but it is slightly unrealistic is to expect a second hand buyer to burden your initial "additional" outlay because it wasn't in stock so paid the rarity tax and you had to buy it in 2 tone when for barely anything more they can buy new in "real" colours now. As pointed out above, if you aim for around 60% of the CURRENT retail price you are probably in the right ball park. Congrats for not having a major diva strop though (many do) ?1 point

Shorter carbine version is still £299 on fire support though, the RRP is how much the weapon is NOW not what the receipt says. Receipt going with the RIF to prove warranty? Mmmm dunno how that would work, if it does great good news for the potential buyer. The fact it's ready to paint just means someones purposely taken the finish off, so yeah I think a new and real RIF wins there. Cross advertising? No, this is where people look to see who's being a little too ambitious with their pricing. Throw whatever tongue in cheek positive spin on that you will but you'll find it's not beneficial to your sale in the long run. The people in this thread discussing this are your ideal candidates for constructive criticism, we're not biased in your favour and we sure as hell won't be buying your overpriced goods so will happily advise you to get to a sensible price point ?1 point

And all you had to do to save the cash was undercut the actual inventor and stifle innovation. Bargain! Those clones are the reason that we never got factory-supported magazine adaptors and it took 5 years and counting for new models to come to market. If they'll continue to prioritise the cheapest possible product at the expense of innovation and quality, airsofters really have no-one but themselves to blame when they get sold shitty, obsolete products that don't work properly out of the box or break shortly thereafter. It's not a coincidence that in 1995 a mobile phone looked like this and in 2020 looks like this, but a 2020 M4 AEG gearbox looks exactly the same as a 1995 one. It's not a coincidence that local airsoft retailers are going out of business (especially in the States) because people would rather save a paltry amount of money than support any actual customer service. It's not a coincidence that Magpul withdrew from their partnership with PTS in disgust and as a result we can't get PDR-Cs or FPGs any more. There is a direct link between people forcing manufacturers into a race to the bargain basement and manufacturers not having any incentive to make innovative products. The "I would never pay £x for x, so they haven’t lost a sale by me purchasing a rip-off" argument sucked when it applied to pirating music, films and videogames and it sucks here. People buying it is the reason it’s produced. The entitlement of "I want it, but I don’t want to pay for it" is frustrating. It apparently cost TM $1m in 2008 dollars to develop the NGRS system; how are they supposed to recoup the first significant investment in AEG design since they invented the AEG if consumers set an arbitrary limit of "no more than twice the cost of a bargain basement clone of your old gun"? It’s especially irritating with straight clones like the M12 because the clone literally doesn’t do even one single thing better than the original, except be cheap and poorly made. Even CYMA have improved over TM in important ways like having metal receivers. I fully support and will buy things that obviously borrow heavily from an existing design if it’s improved - I’ll happily buy an VFC, because even though it’s mostly a TM clone they’ve massively improved it by making it steel and wood rather than plastic and plastic. This is all far from unique to the Sidewinder, it’s just especially annoying because it’s not the property of some huge faceless corporation. It’s literally one guy who designed an amazing product, put in a truly astonishing amount of his own money and time developing it, getting it manufactured, dealing it to distributors etc., and all so it could get ripped off and sold for profit by massive companies inside six months. At this stage it’s hard to tell if we deserve innovation. Anyway, apologies for dragging the thread off topic.1 point
