Also what a lot of players don’t seem to realize is TM are made exclusively for the Japanese market(Their not that bothered about what the rest of the world wants) where the FPS allowed is no more than 322fps by law . TM manufacturers all their gun to function to there maximum potential below this number hence they function so well at a lower FPS compared to other brands , and once you DO start ‘up-grading’ you end up in a situation where once one part is changed it throws everything else out of sink and you then end up replacing another part , then you need to replace another part , and another etc etc . I buy what I can afford AND what I like , so my collection runs the whole gamut from £25 springer shotguns up to £600+ ‘special’ guns AND everything in between ! ? I’ll be honest I’ve never encountered anyone looking down on my kit(but I think they probably realise from my general ‘demeanor’ I wouldn’t take any of that shit from anyone ??) but in the end who really cares ? I don’t ! ?5 points

Getting a retailer to import for you?

Do you mind me asking what it is that you're after? There is physical stock that may not be listed online. Someone may have a lead on what you want here in the UK already.3 points -
Yes, the case that springers to mind is of the drunken beggar (but I repeat myself) that was convicted for public possession of an orange "soft air" gun. It's unclear from the reporting whether the prosecution was under 16a as above, or Firearms Act Section 19, simple public possession. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/man-toy-gun-outside-bank-2723276 Still convicted though, Firearms Act doesn't distinguish. I'm guessing one of these beauties. Broken drum time, but public possession (IF or RIF) is the real risk for us as owners, purchasers, and even "modifiers", not any VCRA considerations, since the VCRA won't be an issue unless you've already been caught orange handed. Note that Section 19 is a strict liability offence that requires an affirmative defence, and the prosecution doesn't have to show any intent or guilty mind. I try to keep site details readily to hand on my phone when on the way to or from a game day.3 points

Tokyo Marui, are they always a safe bet?
Rogerborg and 2 others reacted to Ebeneezer Goode for a topic
I've never looked at TMs principally because they are far and away beyond my budget. For me one of the thrills of airsoft is how much fun you can have without needing to spend massive amounts. Of course, wanting to spend massive amounts is a very different thing... For me, light weight wins every time, so it's plastic for me. Not at all fussed by recoil. Did try a GBB Glock once a few years ago, was fun but wouldn't go out my way to get one. Yes, gear snobs can look down at me if they so desire with my crappy Lancer Tactical M4 and my UAR. What is it thats said about APS, "A Piece of Shit"? Well to me they're great fun, work perfectly and cost me hardly anything. Most of all, I'm happy with what I've got. And they do the same job of lobbing plastic BBs at sub-350fps as something five times the price. And if folk want to blow 500 quid or whatever it is on a TM, fair play to them. Personally, I'll still hanker after a sub-£150 CSI XR-5 and perhaps an affordable non-CO2 Desert Eagle. As far as I'm concerned I'd never own another gnu if I had both of those.3 points -

Glad you asked. So, as is typical one of the RIFs that was part of the order went out of stock (not surprising as it was leading up to Black Friday). I've since been in contact with TG, re-jigged the order and am awaiting them to invoice me so I can pay through PayPal. Everything is in stock, and they are still up for running the test order with DHL to the UK. As soon as I've paid and receive the shipping notice I'll let the forum know, so you can judge how it went. However, being a glutton for punishment (and because I couldn't pass up a bargain on Gunfire), I've also got a parallel order with them, noting they've ceased using GLS (apparently they had some issues) and have gone back to UPS. I did email them about this and they seem to think that recent performance has been better to the UK (to be fair it couldn't have been much worse). Luckily I'm not in a rush, and I thought it might prove an interesting experiment to compare the main Polish retailers and how quickly they are shipping and report back. Any delay will also give me a chance to think about what I'm going to say to my wife when all these RIFs turn up...3 points

Worse than UPS? Then I can only assume that this means GLS sort their incoming packages like this. Greater heroism hath no man than that he put in "race ya" orders to two Polish companies during the Christmas rush. Yep, and that's what its all about, having a smile on your face. Whether its practical or not! Quite right too. I've only got four RIFs however the one I shoot most often at home is the 20 quid Galaxy springer 1911 I picked up from BBG4L. Its a hoot. Thankfully never come across any gear snobs at games, the folks at my home site are all great craic and there's none of that. However it seems to be pretty prevalent on the net. Stuff em. Pfft. Pretty much all of my RIFs have come from HK or Japan. If you have a defence, just import yourself. Just know how much you're likely to pay in fees and the rest is just like ordering from a UK retailer 99% of the time.1 point

Yeah defo from my experience; inverted recoil, decent hop, bolt stop function, shit fps - tm ngrs ALL day. Decent fps, ok hop ( although on any m4 aeg it takes five minutes and five quid to make it decent) any other brand aeg! Unfortunately you start tweaking Tokyo maruis and the toffee metal house of cards comes tumbling down. This is why they got such low fps.1 point

Bet nobody saw that coming huh? I hadn't looked at the site for years, they just had the SSG and maybe one pistol at the time. Looked again last night, pretty big line now. Also watched a video about their plate carrier since that's my field and that was.. interesting. The staff at the company is apparently 55 people now so those old rumours about customer service being shit because it was just him working from his house definitely don't apply anymore. As with the RIFs, all the kit is just slightly modified versions of cheap chinese stuff available elsewhere; admittedly with some reasonable input visibly based on a lot of playing airsoft. As with anything, if you order enough they'll make alterations to a product from the factories. The way the company was born and has evolved is certainly interesting and pretty unique compared to the classic old model of manufacturers and retailers.1 point

A good 7.4v LiPo will deliver as much or more power to the motor than the 8.4v NiMh As @Shamal said, the MilliAmp Hour (mAh) is how much electrical power the battery can deliver in one hour. (Basically how much it can store) You'll need one bigger than 600mAh. (1300mAh or larger) You also need to look at the 'C' rating. This indicates the maximum power delivery and should be as high as you can get. 20C is standard 25C is better. This should do the trick but check the size fits Make sure to get a decent charger to keep it in good condition and fire free ?1 point

Well, I had a few hours spare so I thought why not try and break my M904E by taking the gearbox apart (my first ever gearbox disassembly!) to see if I can get back my missing 15 FPS, which turned out to be far more stressful than I thought it would be (and a test firing of just the gearbox in the receiver failed, s**t, until I realised the battery was flat). Bottom line is that right now I have to disassemble it again as the combined XT cylinder head and nozzle are too long so BB's are not feeding, the XT and stock nozzle are the same length though, so maybe a cylinder head or tappet plate problem? I see though that MAXX make all sorts of lengths of nozzle so I've bought a few of theirs as well (they do a 21.25mm, lengths seem to increment up or down by 0.25mm). The disassembly did throw up two interesting things though. First of all the bottom of the pistol grip is cutting into the motor wires... https://i.imgur.com/IhUDTtt.jpg ... and secondly I'd seen on some websites that the DE M90X's allegedly had a bearing on the piston head as well and they do!.. https://i.imgur.com/LVlAPn6.jpg ... and this has had no effect on my my Guarder SP100 spring which is still 17cm after around 10,000 shots. Edit: I also bought a Guarder tappet plate, on which the "fin" on the rear that connects with the sector gear is wider, and with this swapped in this morning we're feeding again and back to 345'ish FPS on 0.20g BBs ?1 point

My delivery turned up today. Yay! A fairly painful wait, as its missed what might have been my last game of the year, but I have to say the kit itself is nice. The modular suppressor is very much like the cheap AliExpress one I got last week, but that was actually nicely made so I'm not going to complain. And the modular design is good.1 point

I picked up a new battle harness recently. so changed from a black Viper Skeleton harness to the Viper Battle Harness in multicam. And during Black Friday I spotted some big discounts on the Novritsch (sorry) modular suppressor and one of the rifle camo covers. The cover was so cheap I thought I'd see what it was like... not bad I think - it certainly breaks up 'black slab' of the top half of the gun1 point -
Because that was the offence. The distinction of a VCRA IF or RIF is irrelevant to the offence Section 16a of the firearms act: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1968/27/section/16A [F116A Possession of firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. It is an offence for a person to have in his possession any firearm or imitation firearm with intent— (a)by means thereof to cause, or (b)to enable another person by means thereof to cause, any person to believe that unlawful violence will be used against him or another person.]1 point

Protection for your eyes, yes they'll be fine but make sure you have some anti fog treatment with you too. Also - you WILL need full face protection if you're under 18 (some sites are under 16). If you're going with glasses then make sure you get a lower face mask too.1 point

A penguin is driving a rental car through the desert when suddenly the air conditioner stops working. The penguin, frantic with the heat, swerves into the first car repair shop he sees. Penguin jumps out yelling, "Quick, quick! Drop everything and fix my air conditioner. I'm literally dying from this heat! Really, it's an emergency!" The mechanic says, "Calm down, now. I can fix your car in about a half hour, and you should just go across the street to wait in the ice cream shop. It's cool in there, and they sell soft-serve ice cream." The penguin is thrilled, jumping up and down, and yells, "Yay!! Soft serve is my favourite!", and he scampers across the street waving his stubby wings. Exactly a half hour later the penguin rushes out of the ice cream shop with vanilla ice cream all over his face, and runs into the repair shop, yelling, "Did you fix it!? Did you fix it!?" The mechanic says, "Yeah, no problem. It looks like you just blew a seal." The penguin frantically wipes his mouth and yells, "No fucking way! That's just ice cream!!"1 point -
