  1. Sumrak in EMR from my nearest and dearest. Brilliant quality and design. I bought myself an old Soviet yellow Berezka suit, Soviet poncho, and Spekter balaclava. The lad received a CM.048, for which he promptly appropriated a side mount and red dot, and a moderator - all bloody mine and intended for my CM.040... Luckily Rocketdogbert sold me a cheap reflex sight last week, so I'll go for a rear sight rail from Ant Supplies as soon as they reopen. Better for eye relief/parallax than a side mount. I also picked up a Big Dragon M140, ML and nub, t/b barrel etc. Post script: he's had my bastard new sling too! Swiped from the stairs bookshelf. A sound thrashing is on the cards.

  2. Already did that. I verify all my games by playing them and doing a data integrity test. If the buyer claims it's broken and not working, I have to accept the return. Either way here is the outcome. --------------------------- I managed to get a call-back from Ebay and explain my case, the representative was lovely to speak to, said that she hadn't come across a case like this where I had at least some sort of proof. (Maybe she was new!) She sent me a Affidavit form to sign and send back. 2 hours later Ebay refunded the buyer, but also refunded ME with no hit to my seller rating (Minus the return postage though). So Ebay took the majority of the hit on this. So I am quite happy with the outcome, but I do wish they stuck it to the buyer as refunding him is essentially rewarding a scammer. Bittersweet, but a better outcome then most people said I would get. Thank you for all of your advice, it helped me out a fair bit. I can probably sell just the case, slip and manual for a little bit of money to cover the returned postage fee and come out with a bit more profit.

Nothing airsoft related for Christmas, but I got these two excellent full metal GOATGUNS miniatures from my wife. I’ve got to say I’m very impressed with them and I think I’m going to get some more.

  8. belief is fine, believe whatever you want no matter how stupid and it can and should be tolerated. sure there can be debates or attempts to convince out of it, indeed it can be fun to do so. but when that belief affects others then that's where the line must be drawn.

  11. While it is very likely that COVID-19 escaped from the Wuhan lab, it shows no evidence of having been man made. It does show all the characteristics of being a naturally occurring virus. I am not a virologist, but have a friend who is. Similarly to many virologists around the world, his team have been studying this thing from the start; there is no evidence whatever that it is man made. Incidentally, I was in Wuhan in December 2019; there were reports of a cluster of pneumonia cases in the days before I flew home on 17th December. As for Omicron being "trucked in" to Africa, that is not at all supported by any of the evidence; the same is true of your bizarre claim that Tredos (I assume you mean Tedros) is a member of the CCP (actually the CPC) as he is neither Chinese nor a citizen of the PRC. Given your apparent deep knowledge of China, I assume that you have travelled extensively in that country and can talk with the locals. Belief is less valid when it is not based on facts and is based on delusional conspiracy theories. Why should those who propagate conspiracy theory nonsense be tolerated?

  12. Asomodai, have you tried using a uv security mark. Something we used to do when selling high value items was to place a UV security mark on the disk. And something I do when selling vinyl is to close up image all of the pressing numbers so disc switching is extremely difficult to do. Beyond that I'm glad you got at least a better result than I'd have through likely with the state of ebay of late.

  18. Blinged up a little with my Kobra, my cheap suppressor and a stock sling adapter that's too short to fit where it ought to go, but does fit nicely through the thumbhole and over the RIS which looks like it'll be fine. It's a cool beast Chrono'd at 270Fps on 0.20g. My spare M100 will go in sharpish, but there's actually two extra springs inside the box, I'll maybe try them too, out of curiosity! The hop unit is cheap feeling compared to the nice one in my DE M906C so I think I'll be finding a replacement sooner rather than later. The hop when applied looks off center, so not expecting much accuracy as it is. Happy Xmas everyone ?

My son is well chuffed with his DE M906C... but more importantly I can now muck around with his G&G Firehawk and fit a GATE Titan. His best friend got a Lancer Tactical LT-04 GEN2 with battery / charger / red dot, and he's over the moon with it, primarily as they can now skirmish together (I so need a "Dad Taxi" sticker for my car).

  24. The fact that I'm buying motors from AliExpress instead of getting them custom made would probably answer that already. Quickly looks at fuse... 20A in the R85, so I'd say 10A isn't going to end well. I then got out my multi-meter to measure the resistance of the motor. It looks a little too low to get a proper reading with my meter, but was showing at about 0.6 Ohms. So using basic calculations for DC, you're talking about 12A on a 7.4v and 18A on a 11.1v. I went from electrical engineering to electronics as it didn't hurt as much when I touched the wrong thing. And then went into IT by accident about 20 years ago, so anything I do with electronics now is just for fun and it's been quite a while since I did any theory.

  25. This pretty much sums up what I was going to say. And I've been on both sides of the fence. About 10 years ago I ran a rif with a crazy ROF, can't remember what but way more than 35. Now I have a GBBR and whatever ROF I can achieve in semi. thing is, unless an action is explicitly prohibited at a site, like running ROF beasts, then people will do it, for a large variety of reasons. I'm never in favour of clamping down on stuff like this, it's just a hobby. If that's what some people like to do, so be it. Adapt and overcome.

  27. Another day at Bristol Airsoft (The Courts) today, was a fun day. A lot smaller teams so played more tactical. it’s such a surreal feeling sneaking through the cells in darkness, listening out for foot steps. As soon as I heard anything I stopped dead and aimed toward the direction it was coming from. My high cappa helped so much today also on the tight stairs. Just need a sling now and had to go one handed while holding my rifle down to the side. always seem to get hit in the same place tho, you can still see the reminiscence of the 19th when we last played but now a few new marks from today.

  28. Thanks, she does look sexy now. She was also shooting relative straight today. Also crono’d at 320 (the highest of the day). I was intending on getting my UKARA but didn’t want a pistol sprayed blue so did it for that. Will still get my UKARA to be safe.

  29. might want to try with hop on, whilst it's counterintuitive sometimes having the hop completely off will reduce the muzzle velocity. the answer is it's hard to say. some v3 boxes the triggers will behave and sit in position as long as you don't mess with them, others they'll make a bid for freedom immediately. they can be a bit of a bear to get back in but for an unworn box they should at least stay put once you have them back in position. things like shims it's very common for them to stick to either the bearing, the gear, or both (eg one shim goes one way the other stays where it is), although as long as you keep track of where they were originally it's not a problem (unless you're going to do a full reshim in which case it's irrelevant) tappet plate may play nice, or not depending on where it is in the cycle when you open it. however when reassembling it'll sit nice as long as you have the sector gear in the right orientation so it isn't pulling the plate back. anti reversal latch will generally be annoying, a good method is to use a magnet on the underside of the box to hold it in place on reassembly. you can also sometimes get it to sit by putting backwards tension on it via the bevel.

  33. See there you go again confusing belief with facts. Not the same thing mate. Correct I have no problem with those who believe the holocaust never happened. I know it did and that is all that matters to me. What someone else thinks is their concern. It's a big bad,sad world fella and I can't help but think that with a different set of circumstance you could have been born into one of these cultures that you hate so much and your views would have been different. Regards
    1 point
  34. When those viewpoints are clearly delusional and are damaging to our understanding of, for example, the nature and spread of this virus, that is potentially harming all of us. It is somewhat similar to the deluded fools who "believe" in Q, that Trump won the election and who attacked the Capitol. Based on your comment, I can only conclude that you have no problem with, for example, those who "believe" that the Holocaust did not happen or who believe that their religion requires them to kill gay people, apostates and women who dare to break the rules. After all, those are just their beliefs and viewpoints. I know someone who believes that COVID does not exist and that the vaccines are designed to enable "them" to monitor and control us. Consequently, he refuses to get vaccinated or to wear a mask. But, hey, those are just his beliefs; that he could quite easily be spreading the virus is irrelevant,
    1 point
  35. Well I think belief is just what it is. It doesn’t need to be backed up by proof or facts. And if a person is strong in their particular belief then they have no need to try and change someone else's belief to theirs. That shows me that they are not sure and need to reinforce their belief by making others join them. If someone spouts off about their particular theory about something then thats fine,it's their thoughts and ideas coming from an individual entity,it may not align with your thoughts and ideas but we are all capable of independent thought which makes us different. Why not tolerate folk with different viewpoints if they are not harming you directly.? Regards

    What have you made?

I had this plan to put perforated fake plates in a Crye mairitime JPC to make the holy grail of PC that actually wouldn't be very hot/sweaty in summer, so I bought some hollow plastic medium SAPI dummies aaaaages ago and through sheer fuckin laziness I never got around to doing what I wanted with them until this week. Tried just using a knife and mk1 hand first but being about 4mm thick and 'sticky' when cutting I could tell I was going to lose a finger if I proceeded, so I swapped to a holesaw + electric drill. End result has the solid edges/outline needed to fill out any PC and looks exactly like a proper plate when inserted, but it weighs almost nothing and has just enough rigidity in the middle to support everything. I'm already working on a connect-4 meme never fear.

  41. To everyone who cites civil liberties & freedoms, & the alleged attempts by government to remove those said freedoms (for the greater good of the many), what's your opinion on conscription, in particular in wartime ? For everyone screaming about their freedoms, remember without government taking decisive action in 1939, essentially breaking families up, many never to be reunited again, was necessary to ensure even the most basic rights & freedoms. Kinda puts the mild restrictions we face today in to perspective, those that disagree should all get together & give each other a big unmasked hug ?

  42. Rate of fire on some rifles and pistols are ridiculous. High rates of fire spoil game play, turns players away. HPA is a menace in CQB, I have seen 20 or so new players come and play once and call it a day, the comments I hear are often centred around "I can't hit anyone because I keep getting hit" or that they can't return fire because they are unable to break cover because the bb's are coming in thick and fast. From my observations in game, HPA's ruin game play on indoor CQB, it is more suited to outdoor use than indoor. The main issue IMHO is that there are too many sites where there are varying rules and this leads to confusion on new sites and why rules get broken and people get pissy with people not taking hits, one site I know says that kids are not targets and your hits on the kids don't count... well great, teach cheating to the young. There needs to be a set of standardised rules that can be agreed upon that is a guide and also those setting the rules need to have insurance companies onboard as they are the guys that have to cover sites for liability cover, so a site can't stipulate different rules that are dangerous to players as the insurance company would be on the hook. Players that want higher rates of fire and power should hire venues and advertise it as a free for all and go shoot yourselves up to your hearts content, leave airsoft to those who want to enjoy game play and not get beat up in a game, there is a certain thing that is called enjoyment that can rapidly diminish and the sooner players recognise this (the ones insisting on high power and rates of fire) wake up to this fact, the sport might improve to attract more players. As I say, if you want higher power, go airgun or powder round shooting or clay pigeon shooting...

  43. Last time I looked, vaccinating isn’t mandatory; maybe that’s why this thing isn’t going away. on a personal note, I’m a stonemason, most of my work is outside. I don’t get the sniffles, can’t remember the last time I had the flu either. I’ve had my vaccinations because if I was to catch this and pass it on to my elderly relatives, I would never forgive myself. Remember, these vaccinations aren’t just to protect you; they are to protect Everyone.

  44. So you don’t believe it…..but we’ve been lucky? Maybe that’s because we’ve had draconian lockdown measures, used masks AND had one of the most successful vaccination programs in the world….oh and don’t forget the brave NHS workers who worked tirelessly, even more so for the last 2years, and died on the frontline try to save our old and infirm? shut up you nobber. 45. You are so right about all the other things needed too for CQB, I have just left my local airsoft shop and came out with a new pistol. The owners was so helpful and even help me set up my MVT so I could purchase the pistol without having to have it two toned. just got a AW Custom High Capps 5.1, holster and everything needed to attach to my tactical vest too.

  46. And a sight protector and a tracer unit and single, two and three point slings and a forward grip and a different pistol grip and a CQB stock and... Cancel your wedding plans now, you won't be able to afford it. Ahoy and welcome though. We're so-so on those Bulldogs, but they seem to be pretty standard V2 gearboxed M4s so anything that does go wrong should be fixable without too much drama. It'll doubtless migrate to become a loaner / backup / tinkering gun if you stick with the hobby.

  47. This. It can also be applied in game as well as to your gear
    1 point
  48. DMRs are an odd one, many different power limits across different sites, where as full auto and bolt actions are fairly universal in their power limits. Depends on your local sites I guess. Though a 1.1j build with a dmr playstyle is pretty fun. And definitely get a second gun before tinkering. You don't want to be canceling game days because your gearbox is in pieces on a work bench ? But most importantly, do what is fun, even if its not logical. If it gets you playing its a good thing.
    1 point
  49. Pussys, dicks and arseholes. Airsoft has always been this way, I find I just take on the challenge of out smarting them and making the way they play ineffective for them. I do completely get that dick players don’t do any good for potential newbs. However of all airsoft gripes dishonesty and non hit taking are the game day killers for me.
