  4. It's not even properly wanky on the internals, no edgi barrel, no maxx hop up, not even r-hopped. It's okay though because you get two, yes, an entire TWO pts mags. I dare someone to buy one two toned.

I've been waiting 8 years for justification to post these again. The Magpul 1911 grips and MOE stock are RS from the states and they may have been limited runs, or perhaps just the stock was. Prize pieces in my collection anyway.

  6. If your playing mostly urban/CQB I’d say yes 100% get one , as to how much to spend ? That’s up too you . I’ve got a shit load of helmets(have two sons who also play) some are loadout specific(example , a cheapo plastic PASGT for a Blackhawk down , a MICH for a task force black) plus LOTS of fast helmets ! most of which were around the £20-30 max mark . I do have a couple of ‘high end’ ones that cost well over £70+ but to be honest I find even the cheapest ones work absolutely fine for Airsofting as I’ve just not experiencing a high enough level of risk to warrant a high end or ‘real steel’ helmet , I’ve twat’ed my head on plenty of occasions been shot in the melon loads of times and god knows how many times I've dropped them but me personally I’ve never had any fail on me . I’ve got vented and un-vented fast helmets and I’ve never really noted much of a difference between them for sweating more or less the vented I always have covers on and the un-vented I usually leave ‘naked’ , as too glasses fogging more with a helmet again I’ve never noted an increase when wearing a helmet over a ball cap . So I’d say look at what’s out there see what you like and just get what you like , I’ll happily say the cheap ones are fine for Airsofting and you don’t need an expensive one , you may WANT the same one used by SEAL Team 6 3/4’s but you don’t ‘need’ it but that’s still fine it’s your money buy what you like just admit it and not try and convince me you “NEED IT !” ????

  10. There are loads of things that it could be. The first thing that I'd check is that the spring on the front of the hop unit is still there, and pushing the hop back against the geearbox. Then I'd check that the nozzle is secured in the tappet plate, as it's easy to miss this when re-assembling. Ensure that the nozzle isn't either loose, or stuck, i.e. that it can be pushed back under spring tension, and then returns by itself, but that it can't be wiggled back and forth easily. Check that there's a good bit of puff coming out of the nozzle. Either way, unless it's the hop spring, you're going to have to go back inside the gearbox to see what's gone wrong there. Be sure to check that you've got good air seal on the piston, cylinder, cylinder head and nozzle before reassembling, but I'm sure you'll have learned that lesson.

  11. Kinda need a bit more info... You'll need to take it apart again to test compression of each component to find where you're losing air. Check that piston O-ring is correct size etc.

  14. Nope. Pyros were allowed, but ear defenders were issued and marshals were informed. This was after consulting the accompanying adults and kids themselves. During the game, it was obvious that proximity was a big factor. With the ear-pro bangs in the next room were fun, bangs in the same room were NOT fun. The kids wanted to play and seemed to understand the risks to the organisers satisfaction. They were soon calmed and back in the game. Personally, I would have preferred a no bang rule. I would not have enjoyed seeing a young one having a really nasty time for two minutes let alone ten because I'd chucked a MKV at them, but not my call. My concern was that another youngster may take the piss, due to no inclusion of anything in the briefing. 'Some people are really shocked by grenades and get upset. Please be helpful. Immediately inform a marshal who should be close to hand, or tell X and Y and Z,' may have done it.

  15. This is my point. What matters is what happens on site, on the day. Both in terms of what players do, and what marshals and site owners do in immediate response. I'm sticking with my view that time served, good-at-the-job door security make the best site staff. It's much the same skillset: being friendly and welcoming while spotting potential problems, sounding them out and heading them off early, and ultimately being prepared to say "End of discussion, leave now" and mean it. Back your local bouncers.

  16. Looks like Patrolbase is taking a leaf from Dave at DCA's book on how to con *ahem* make money out of Airsofters... £1.4K for this: A suped-up Krytac. Doesn't even have the TM appeal. You could build/buy a very nice HPA setup for waaay less money. Then there's this - £1.2K for a Hi-Capa: I would expect either gun to be able a gnat's bollock at 100 paces for that kind of money.

    TM MP7 GBB.

Tm Mp7s and mags seem to retain their value better than most. If it was mine I'd list it (none of the optional extras) for £425 all in and then consider offers around £400 The extras I'd say sell seperately, if you force a bundle you won't get the full value you could from them and it'll take longer to sell. Suppressor c £50 Sling c 25-30 Clone t2 with mount c £40 Surefire min is £150

    Helmets - Yay or Nay?

Bump caps look like a decent solution, I might pick one up just for general work purposes anyway.

    Helmets - Yay or Nay?

I've run a fair few helmets mainly cheap steel surplus helmets and police protective helmets this has primarily been for the 'dress up factor' but there's certainly been occasions where I'm glad I was wearing them. For more practical protection mainly at indoor sites where knocks are more common I've personally found bump caps/hard caps to be quite useful, they're lighter and more breathable than a conventional helmet and don't tend to cause as may fogging issues or interfere with other face protection but offer as good if not better protection from hits to the head, especially since most are safety rated to some extent(I do question how much protection the cheap FAST, PASGT, MICH, etc. replica style helmets offer, probably better than nothing but for a fall or hard knock to the head I wouldn't want to rely on one). Main downside is they don't offer as much wrap around protection from bbs particularly at the back. If you do go for a more conventional helmet I would say you largely get what you pay for quality wise especially if purchasing brand new, there's also the other perk of mounting systems on helmets if you did ever want to run NVG, ear protection, head mounted flashlights, visors, etc. to consider.

Sure, it's required by the The Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer. The lighter and cheaper the better. I don't even go as fancy as MICH 2000s, the M88 / PASTG toys are good enough for the likes of me. US $13.70 / £10.29 delivered from Ali Express on my last one.

  26. Oof, not sure I can get behind a price point like that, especially on something that is "hand built". £1K+ is the realm of GBLS and I know which one I'd opt for.

  27. i used to run with just a cap. But a few too many run ins with low branches and the likes convinced me to get a fma exfil. In the time since its saved me from a good few bumps and scratches, but also from a trmr through a window and a loose brick falling from a wall. Make of it what you will, i seem to attract random injuries.

  30. Just wondering, has anyone donated any old equipment they don’t use to any of the online Ukrainian help sites? was thinking of dropping off some warrior chest rigs, spare pouches, torches etc.

  31. My advice would be stay on this forum, use the classifieds here, check the trader history of anyone you're considering dealing with. That's how I do it and I've never had a bad transaction (well, one pistol was a little unwell, but not awful). Plus we're not a bad bunch of wankers, mostly.

  32. I would definitely say get a helmet. The best feature of any helmet regardless of the style is that you don’t have to wear it if it isn’t appropriate for you at the time. But if you don’t have one then you don’t have the option. I will always have a helmet in my kit bag and wear it about 80% of the time. Not only is it good at protecting your head, but it’s also a very convenient and stable mount for comms headsets and NVG etc. On the subject of what to choose, spend enough that it provides reasonable bump protection and has a nice stable fit to support whatever tacticool stuff you want to hang off it. Otherwise you don’t need to spend fortunes. There are loads to choose from.

  33. Sorry lads for the late reply, i reached my max posts yesterday. Rogerborg and Cr0-Magnon, i spoke to the NI police again yesterday afternoon to pass on the information on the H4H scandal and add the the report already raised. It will definately help in the police doing something because he is a convicted criminal. I hope karma ruins him for good this time. Thank again gents for all the replies to the post. I feel less of a stupid twat now for sending off my kit to that lowlife now.

I have numerous lids for myself & if fams turn out, but generally only use them for cqb, for example the ucap tunnels nr Portsmouth are a perfect example where imho helmets are a necessity, curve nissen walls with occasional pipework, all of which is in the dark, for anyone 6ft+ bumps on the head are almost guaranteed. ?

  35. That's hilarious, "Manufacturer painted" .......He knows Mr. Marui personally I suppose. Because we've seen time and time again how little TM care about the international market. For this guy, they apparently get involved in helping comply with VCRA. I Love my Gold Match but if anyone wants a non two tone one, I'll let it go for £600, £750 if you want me to include a spare mag ?

  36. I've only ever worn pith helmets, cheapo Mich 2000 styles and various steel lids for themed events. Leaving aside the sun wear and heavy steel, I find that with a willingness to mess about with fit/stitch in extra padding/compress foam carefully, even the sub £20 job is good in the pissing rain, and the webbing/partial padding does let some air circulate. The ability to sport several different covers is handy too. You can go from '80s Grenada invasion to 2014 Luhansk separatist headgear in seconds, if that's your thing. Since my head now is a bald spot I'm stealing your story.

  37. So I'd definitely say its a serious consideration as airsoft sites can be hazardous at the best of times let alone when running about with pews. I have a bald spot on my head where I caught it on a vehicle door frame about 7 years ago and literally peeled a piece of my scalp back. If I had been playing with a helmet that day, I'd have saved myself a trip to an out of hours gp to get stitched up.

    Helmets - Yay or Nay?

About two months ago my nephew popped up from cover about six or so feet in-front of a team mate who was a sniper, all he had on his head was the hood of his jacket, just as the sniper was firing (a full on VSR-10 with close to 500 FSP, don't know the BB weight). He was hit right on the back of his head and he dropped to the floor like a ton of bricks. He was in agony, but very brave, with a huge bump on his head and off home once his mum picked him up an hour or so later. First thing next day his mum bought him and his brother FAST helmets with no holes / vents in them. I love playing airsoft, but don't enjoy the pain, so a helmet for me is essential (also I need something to mount my ExFog on).

  43. Sadly, I'm not, at all. I'd hope they were, but I doubt it. And I'd expect half of them to be back on the next game day, pretending ignorance, saying "No patch, no problem", or just not giving a toss. I'd like to be wrong about that, but the players who aren't a problem don't need told how to behave, and the players who are don't listen or care - that's why they're a problem. It's not the patches, it's the players. Airsoft sites don't need so many rules, and they don't need so much being said. Actually punt the dickish 5-10% off site, on the day, and all the problems are gone. I say this in the full knowledge that it's far easier said than done, and it's something I've got no interest in putting into action. But that doesn't make it any less true.

  44. What a complete tosser. I imagine he only does this to people that have the Irish sea between them and him, or he'd have been stomped by now.

  45. Oh what the actual fuck? People did that? I'm surprised they didn't just get kicked straight off the field. His response seems pretty measured though and I'm glad they didn't go so far as to outright ban Russian kit because that's a slippery slope. Then you have the question of what Russian style kit is and isn't ok and if you draw a line people are going to want to find out exactly where it is.

  48. I think persistence will prevail. I’ll certainly be giving other sites ago before writing off the sport as a long term hobby. I’ll defo be doing both these things. There’s a group of four of us who are all starting out and have similar ideas on what we want out of it (teamwork, comms, objective focussed, not so fussed about looking flash in expensive kit…although that does sound fun). I’ll also be contacting the site, in a friendly manner of course. Who knows, maybe it was just a day where a few of the marshals were feeling rough after a late one on Saturday ?‍♂️
