  1. Two Englishmen arrive at llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch and go for a bite to eat. As they eat, they ask the waitress how to pronounce where they are. 'Buuurrrggggerrrr Kiiinnngg,' she says slowly.

  2. long time project AEG. CYMA 0.28 Type 3 AK47. This is the recoil model similar to the TM NGRS AK's. externally it has some Inokatsu laminated furniture worn naturally and the magazine is a RS slab slided early AK mag modified for a midcap internals. Internally it is running a Leviathion V3 and ZCI 400mm inner barrel and Maple Leaf Mr Hop (50).

  4. As above, and don't sweat it. It's a cheap part made of whatever recycled milk cartons and dildos got thrown into the melting pot that day, and subject to a lot of stress and flexing. I've not had one go yet, but I'd consider them consumables.

  6. If its just another single core wire then I'd just solder whatever i had to hand that'd fit, another spade if you have them to hand would be fine.

  7. I don't call myself expert but my trigger response build is always 13:1 gears and a 22 tpa motor. And a mosfet which is capable of precocking. For indoor I don't think that you need anything else. Your fps shouldn't change drastically but if you change compression parts your fps should be more consistent between shots. If you've got a good air seal already I wouldn't spend extra money on it. You could change inner barrel and bucking + nub but again for that short distance stock internals do the same job. If you're already in your GB you could correct AoE and grease and lube everything, too.

  8. 'Hi Torque' for SHS motors is a bit of a misnomer - I would rate it more of a balance between torque and speed at 16TPA. I used them in 7.4v setups with standard 18:1 ratio gears (which gives around 16rps) as a basic drop-in upgrade for 'out of the box' stock guns without mosfets. Worked well enough for quite some years for me. When I become ruler of the (airsoft) world - all guns will be capped at 20RPS.

  9. The g&g gearboxes will fit other m4s but those ics gearboxes are ics m4 specific and the l85 uses a proprietary gearbox

  10. Nope - not happening on an Ares Amoeba unless you plan to replace the entire gearbox. The stock Ares ECFS gearbox is not even close to 'TM spec' because of the electronic gubbins inside. This guy stripped out the Ares gearbox and replaced it with a G&G unit. But on the other hand - if you plan to essentially replace everything anyway - it might be better to build up a new gearbox from scratch. At least then you can keep the stock Ares Gearbox in the gun until you are happy with the new Gearbox build before swapping over. There are (currently) some G&G gearbox shells in the classifieds at a very reasonable price.

  13. Hello guys, I had a gun issue during a game, got home and disassembled the gear box and have discovered the tappet plate has broken off. I can figure out how to replace it but I want to know what cause's this issue. I have a perun mosfet installed and used a 7.4v lipo with a stock motor to drive the gun, the tappet plate broke after long bursts of full auto. The gun shoots quite fast with gears and bearings is this normal wear and tear or another issue? What is the best way to prevent this in the future and would recommend any upgrades I'm thinking of replacing the motor with a high torque nice one from ak2m4's shop.

  14. Was he on the balcony of the Iranian embassy? I ask because I reckon I've met all 60 of the blokes who were. Sure, sure, opsec, persec, nik nak paddywhack. Don't get me wrong, it's a great charity, and I hope you blow the roof off the fundraising. But anyone can (and too many do) claim to be "ex UKSF, obviously can't go into too much detail". Unless there are names and origin stores attached, eyebrows do tend to get raised after a while.

  15. Thanks all for the replies! I do like the cosplay side of airsoft hence carrying everything but the kitchen sink My knee is looking like cartilage damage (3 weeks and still slighly swollen on the outer side) so deffo need a visit to a professional ? I'm not seriously overweight though losing a couple of pounds wouldn't go amiss (6ft 13 Stone 8 if I breath out ) . Looking at my rig and the positioning of the mags etc a lot of the weight is directly over my left knee so redistribution is on the cards I think. I use HSGI double tacos, so may switch to singles or just take two mags out. And 2 TRMR'S is just overkill I think? I have two SWAT tactical timed grenades that I gave to my lad and they are so much lighter I may have to sell the TRMR's and get a couple more of them...Still toying with the idea of the chest rig though as that should reduce the amount of stuff I carry by not giving me the space to carry it Thanks again everyone for taking the time out to reply, really appreciate it!

  16. Certainly when it comes to knees and general weight. But then with age comes all sorts of regrets about what could have been in one's youth. Its one of the frustrations of being a father to a grumpy teenager. Mind you, I don't think the current generation of teenagers and twenty something's even know how to have real fun. Certainly when I look back to the shenanigans I got up to some 30 years ago LOL.

  18. The best advice is definitely have an active job that doesn’t involve you being in stress positions for hours every day. Like others I’ve got one weaker knee from work, it suck’s sometimes. Luckily I think I cottoned on to it pretty soon, and as such I make concerted effort to strengthen it by doing rucks and taking joint supplements, collagen peptides look very interesting (not the fillers, they look interesting for sure ?), but as a powder supplement, it plays a big part in joint cartilage repair which falls off a cliff naturally once in your 30s I believe.

  19. The website doesn’t list the specifics https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/96291-longest-airsoft-target-shot …. and the video is a ‘recreation’, so the video contents may or may not differ from the ‘real’ attempt Official records will usually have a set of rules (such as the settings and also I would guess a flat horizontal shot to avoid tricks such as angling upwards to add range) However, it is all of course a PR stunt with all the parts used being available to buy from the record holder

  22. For the most part I have the gear squared away to a 'satisfactory' level. Don't really know what I will do regarding the holster as a mk23 is easier to draw from a dtd one especially with a suppressor attached. Also have to decided where to stick with the silver back suppressor or original Socom one. The main things to sort out are is the rif. The pics give a rough idea of where its at but i do also need to get some black boots at some point.

  24. Indeed, 7.4v 13:1 with 22TPA was my go to setup on 20+ builds, but the brushless motors allow the same response on a 18:1 setup when run on 11.1, run waaaay cooler, batteries last so much longer, and the gearbox on the whole is quieter owing to less stress - eg lower gear ratio / torque through gears. @J4ck you could run any of the nice setups above, even a brushless motor without having to use an internal/smart fet, just use a decent external mosfet like Perun AB++. If you do use the brushless motor make sure to disable or run the lowest active brake settings. Also of note that if you intend to change the pinion on a brushless it can require some extra work that some might find scary to do considering the cost of the motor.

  25. Great news. Nah, you're fine. As above, as long as over half of it is "bright blue" (and there's no definition of what constitutes bright) then it's still not a realistic imitation firearm. If you want to check the laws yourself: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2006/38/section/38 - "[the] principal colour", i.e. over half. On a strict reading, something that's 34% orange, 33% black and 33% grey would meet that definition, but I wouldn't try to get cute about it. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2007/2606/regulation/7/made - non-realistic colours, including "bright blue". That's really all we've got to go on, and bear in mind that a lot of the "two tones" sold by retailers don't actually meet that definition, either on coverage, or on the brightness of the paint. Not a problem for us, the offence is committed by the seller. Not really a problem for you either as long as you're transporting it to or from an airsoft site, or using it there. It just won't be an issue. But please do be aware that public possession of any imitation firearm, whether realistic or a scaled down orange toy springer, is an offence under Firearms Act 1968 Section 19, and requires a positive defence of a "reasonable excuse" - i.e. taking it to or from airsoft.

  26. I would check the new tappet plate runs smoothly and freely in the gearbox shell before putting it all back together - minimise any drag that might increase the shock loading on the fin as the timing pin spins round and grabs it Fit just the tappet plate (no gears, cylinder, piston etc...) and check that when the GB shell is screwed together (no, holding it closed with your hands isn't the same!) that it can slide back and forwards with zero resistance.
    1 point
  27. you've got a little bit of trim coming off the fin on the broken tappet plate, could be the delayer isn't needed? try it without just in case. also before you put it all back together check that the pickup tooth on the piston isn't rubbing against the flat part of the sector gear

  28. Best new setup ive implemented a few times with great success is; 11.1v Warhead standard speed or other quality brushed 25k motor with stock gears (18:1) and helical bevel. Just makes the sweetest sounding action with zero stress. Will put out 19RPS on an M110 so is the goldilocks speed if you ask me Obv this doesnt help the OP with his gearbox of choice currently, but hopefully good info for what guts to use. And obv you will want a suitable mosfet at least or Perun Hybrid/Gate Titan etc to optimise.

  29. That's for pulling a heavier spring. At UK AEG power levels, you won't need that, so I'd go high speed instead. I haven't used SHS stuff, I chisel every penny and use Big Dragon M140s. Optical is great if you want to set up a short pull trigger, but you've got gearbox issues as above. A Perun AB++ living outside the gearbox will give you everything else including pre-cock, burst modes and ROF limiting if you overcook it.

  31. Seconded for these being a great bit of kit. I've tried different kit for lugging stuff around on the field and always end up going back to my one. They're lightweight, durable (mine's almost as old as me but in far better condition) and easily hold enough to get you through a game As others have mentioned, hydration is a big factor on lessening how knackered you feel. One thing I found was that if I carry a water bottle I'll often forget to take on water till I feel thirsty which means I'm already dehydrated. For me a camelback helps as I tend to take smaller drinks more often

  33. I'd say it has snapped through fatigue. Looking at how gearboxes work recently and trying to get mine back together, that particular bit where it snapped is taking the brunt of the rotational forces as well as being hit by that timing plate as it comes round.

Bit of a tinker to get the selector plate to play ball, and lower the power but I got there in the end. Entirely shagged paintjob as is customary for me at this point, absolutely smitten by this lump. Have different red dot mount en route because I'm not a fan of the standard Vortex lower 1/3rd but it's entirely functional for now.

  36. My first pistol: Thought I can’t go wrong with a TM. I’m still fairly new to airsoft so not one for tinkering/upgrading yet (only additional purchase was a couple of extra mags, I fancy a small torch for the lower rail at some point in the future). Hopefully the USP is as reliable as it needs to be! First outing will be next weekend.

  38. As someone who tried to get them to come and certify a world record I can confirm this is not the case, they generally tell you that yours is too silly (really?! Have you seen some of the stuff they certify?) and then threaten legal action if you call it a "world record" with out them verifying it (even if you never mention the G word) Last email to them was pretty much summed up as "Go away in small, jerky movements'

  39. Guinness confirmed, but won’t list my measurements as they deem that world record to be ‘inappropriate’ Many records these days are about trying to find something that hasn’t been listed before, so if you have some reasonable criteria than you have an instant record - and when you’re beat at least you were first. The other is about hype and advertising. The ‘longest’ paintball shot has existed in a few ways, such as the worlds longest shot - but unofficial because it was just a side ‘competition’ at an event Then a few organisers do it as well and either try to refine it guaranteeing a new ‘longest’ shot or they just make a traders puff with claims and ignore anything else One might go to the bother of booking an official adjudicator to turn up and gain the official longest shot These go hand in hand with publicity stunt ‘advertising’ such as the guy who got all the Daily Mail headlines with a paintball tester job vacancy at £50000 per year ….. plus small print - zero hours contract hourly rate equivalent to £50000 per annum The job being a Marshall / gopher zero hours contract including a photo opportunity getting shot for the Daily Mail follow up story On another tack though…. 81.1 metres is nothing Everyone should be queuing up with their ninja springer snipers from Bbguns4less that can shoot a nats left testical at 500 miles
