Probably not a huge issue, but I was wondering what would happen if you leave the UK / enter the EU "fully vaccinated", then the definition of what constitutes that changes while you're there.

If you actually received something that shoots a BB when you pull the trigger 9 times out of 10, I'd call that a win. That sounds like it's "working fine" to me. Sorry to be harsh, but if you want an unconditional right of return and new gun performance, then new guns at new prices are available. On the issues, a selector (not tappet) plate costs £5 delivered, if that's the problem. It might be, I've had a similar safety issue when changing tappet plates, but the solution was to bin off the trigger-block piece so that the trigger can be pulled back freely in safe, but without moving the tappet plate off of safe and allowing a connection to be made. Cost, zero. You won't know until you have a look. If the motor adjustment screw is actually missing, I'd expect the motor to be too low and sound like a bag of angry wasps with spanners, if it was engaging at all. Are you sure that it's missing? It may be a tiny hex grub screw, deeply recessed. Easy enough to check: take the base off the pistol grip (expect the motor shim disc to drop out, stupid little things that they are) and check if there's a screw projecting inside it enough to push on the shim. Dunno about the mosfet, I consider them to be just another thing to go wrong. You could rewire back to standard wiring and flog the mosfet on as "working fine", right?

Muted cheers. Do you have a source for that, and any more details? I can't see anything on Facebook or their site, and starting an order still says that shipping will resume in a few weeks. Minimum order value, "other fees", delivery estimates? Am I safe to assume they're still not registered for paying UK VAT at source, despite saying "* All prices including VAT without transport costs"? -

Oh, nice, it never even occurred to me to belt over the structure. I would caution that hot melt does tend to come adrift after some use, so you might want to consider another form of fixing. I use double-cap rivets to secure straps to EVA (plus, then you have rivets), or in extremis, just poke a small cable-tie through the area needing secured. -
I find it remarkable how communicative companies can become when they have a dispute raised against them. Just whatever you do, don't resolve it until you either have the product or your money back.

Yes! I win! Well... lose. Never too old to start, there are plenty of us... around that age... still kidding ourselves that we can keep up with the speedsofters and rentals. Speaking of which, have you rented and played yet?

It's OK, I hear they're biting the bullet and finally upgrading the Commodore 64 to an Amiga.

If we all did our research before writing anything, this would be a pretty empty place. I've learned something from this thread.

Thanks for the followup. I hope the mags fit and you get it back into action.

It's disclosed during checkout. Agreed, it's deliberately deceptive, especially the shipping estimates. However, because they've given them, I'd have (literally) no hesitation in firing in with a PayPal dispute 10 microseconds after their estimate had expired, or if I didn't receive exactly what I'd ordered. Although at this point I'm just going straight to AliExpress because they have their own dispute / chargeback system that seems weighted towards buyers (at the moment).
-
Er, how? I can't see that they have any UK presence, or any address that you could use for service. And thanks for the warning, but their site is quite obviously written in third best Chinglish, lacks any contact or (actual) company information, and they're quite open that they're shipping from China. You took a gamble and lost, it happens. Just instruct your payment processor to do a chargeback because it's non-functional, and get on with your life.

Hmm, I can't see a way to change the currency now. I was wondering whether their Euro prices are the Sterling price + Polish VAT, or whether there's some other calculation at play. Looking at the headline price of (e.g.) £70.63 for a JG067, I reckon that's actually going to come out more like £105-£120 after shipping, VAT, duty, and whatever the courier adds on for the privilege of allowing you to pay the VAT and duty at the point of import. Given that it would be £111 delivered from PatrolBase within the UK, you'd really need to know the whole cost (and time) up front. I mean, if stocking wasn't an issue. But since it is, and you can't get it from PatrolBase, I honour the courage of those about to pay their money and spin the wheel. -
Nimh to Lipo in AER & AEP - straight swap?
Rogerborg replied to Point Two Balls's topic in Electric Guns
Should be fine in a CM.128. I run my CM.123 off of 1200mAh 7.4V stick lipo brutally shoehorned in and with a Deans connector replacing the standard contacts, but that was more just for the fun of it. A drop in replacement makes sense and I found even a tiny 7.4V lipo gave a far snappier trigger response than the stock NiMH. I'd stick to 7.4V for a very specific reason. CYMAs come with higher powered springs as stock, and the cheapest way for a seller to get them down to UK power levels is just to lop some (or actually a lot) of coils off. My CM.516 came shooting bang on 1J, but the spring had been cut down so much that it was barely long enough to return the piston fully. Not a problem with 7.4V, it shoots quite nicely. But when I dropped in an meaty 11.1V 2600mAh highish-C battery, I got significant overspin on semi, double-shooting on most trigger pulls. Unless you're sure that yours already has a full length M100 or heavier spring in it, I'd go with 7.4V. Capacity and even C rating won't matter that much with a stock CYMA, as the draw from the motor will be the limiting factor rather than supply from the battery. -
You can. Opinions vary on whether you should, to maximise longevity Given the low cost of lipos now, it's not something that I'm fussed about. My B6 wants them at 3.7V per cell for storage, for what that's worth. Bah, even 16mm x 20mm is a no-go for my purposes, 16mm x 16mm is about as big as I can go.

It's not the length so as the girth as the actress said to the bishop. Wiring can take up quite a bit of space in the buffer, so you're either looking at trying to stuff the battery and wiring in side by side, or coil the wiring down into the buffer (remembering that it has to be long enough to reach the end) and ram the battery down on top. All that said, I'ma go and do some experiments now, as those 16-18mm x 20mm 11.1Vs might actually go into my MP5K or down a buffer tube.

The Xebusmass rush will be over, at least, although point taken that we might be back into another mass bout of Netflix binging self-isolated by then. -

Give the absolute state of Customs and Border Farce at the moment, if they're still not allowing us to pay VAT at source then I reckon I'll wait until after Wintervalmass, and to let braver souls make the attempt. -

You can put in an articulated belly plate hanging off of the torso to allow bending over. I still reckon you'll have issued with it rising up when raising your arms: generally you'd keep it to a narrow strip over the shoulders, and then articulate shoulder pauldrons off of it. However, you won't know until you try and you can always modify it later. -
That's what I use, or a rebranded equivalent. Works for me, and had a decent variety of tips. That's a decent price for that whole package, everything you need to get going, although a set of helping hands... helps.

Hmm, on the second time of trying, it appears that I've had a solid M4 stock not even make it out of China again. From what I can make out from the AliExpress tracking, it's been rattling round inside China, was returned (twice, apparently) and has been sent out again. I know some folk have had gear come through OK, but I'm having patchy luck. No idea why, or what's triggering it (badum tsssh). -
I solder Deans with the connectors paired together, and with the far terminal clamped in a pair of surgical forceps to help with heat distribution and dissipation.

At this point it's starting to feel like every second buyer or seller is going to bust out a tale about how they're a Nigerian Prince working on the North Sea oil rig, but their very most trusted courier will collect or delivery much securely with no worry risks once you have by Western Union payment done.

Yup, I like .28s as a decent combination of range vs cost. Well, good news, you've got money in the budget for barrel and hop rubber. You shouldn't really need them, although I do like Maple Leaf rubbers.

Wow, good on them. I am delighted to hear that, it's a great advert for them, even with the mix-up.

Everyone does one wrong before doing them right, it's very much a case of fitting and adjusting. The good news is that EVA is easy to correct. The first one that I got wrong was leather torso armour, that I ended up having to cut and shape after wax hardening it. Oops.
