  1. After the vile vitriolic attacks these magnificent creations have suffered today, it's with a heavy heart I feel the need to post this....

@Shamal - Which colour is your leg, FDE or Battleship Grey?

let this be a lesson kids- this is what happens when you try to extract sympathy from the internet.

@Cr0-Magnonhaha. Well at the moment neither. It's black and blue due to a tumble off the scaffold today!☹

  2. I'd change a hop bucking on site but I wouldn't open a gearbox....OK maybe if Luke was sat next to me.
  3. This has turned in to "which sling setup are you using at the moment?" But "lack of distance" for an Evo ? I have a stock one and there's a stretch of field at my local site where I can max out the range from a particular line, hitting some black netting without really "lobbing" the BB's. So I am tempted to pickup a range finder and check the distance.
  4. Totally this. Most of my collection is SMG's (incl' 2 x Evo's). I don't have a range finder but I know for a fact that a stock Evo outranges many much longer AEG's. I also love folding the stock and throwing it behind me on the two point sling, enabling me to freely use my pistol.
  5. I have been skirmishing for five years and one thing I could never understand, is how people managed just using mid-caps. I had always gone in the opposite direction and still have drum mags for my M4's, Evo's and even Glock/AAP. Playing almost with the attitude that just keeping the opponents heads down was a victory, even if I had to light-up the wall they were behind or bush beside them. However last weekend I changed up my "rig" to include pouches for MP5/EVO mid-caps. Bearing in mind Evo mid-caps are 75 rounds, I was especially surprised that even after a heavy "defend the village" game, I had only just started on my second mag. I also discovered that I found it satisfying when the gun stopped firing on empty and I had to use the bolt release after inserting a new one. So I think I'll stick with them going forward and just pick my shots more carefully. What have you changed/learned recently?
  6. They're extremely well made and the BB gauge is a fantastic feature but in my experience, even when using a sidewinder style loader they're a bitch to fill much past the halfway mark.
  7. I'm not one for loadouts but today I've inadvertently gone Czech....something...

Just wish the P-09 was Battleship Grey like the Scorpion. I do very much like both of these for form and function though.

Nice if they matched, but they both look bloody good.  The tan pistol has really clean lines.

Haha yeah, just me being fussy but that's what I'm talking about -the pistol isn't tan, it's "urban grey"

  8. I would agree with that from a purely practical standpoint, I do love the way it looks and feels though. I think the best upgrade is the wheel adjustment hop unit. I know the AAP is already more than capable out of the box but I feel adding the proper nub and arm system takes it to a whole other level.
  9. Welcome to the club! I skirmished mine, complete with drum mag last week and although I probably could've gotten more kills with and AEG, each kill was far more satisfying. I was a little surprised by the cooldown though, as it was a hot day (around 26C). However if I tried more than half a dozen shots in a row, it did splutter a bit. Leaving it to rest for a minute or so brought it back to normal.
  10. Got a spitfire tracer for mine ? Tried to do bursts but at about 30rps the 24 round mag doesn't last long! VID_20210607_213233.mp4
  11. Can anybody recommend a site in the South East with walk-on spots this weekend?

Cheers. Will check it out. By walk-on I meant not a rental.

@Cr0-Magnon figured as much. Sites have been fully booked up very quickly since the heatwave started. Hit us up if you end up going to Absolute. 5AM start for me to get to Al's for 7AM!

@Asomodai - That's very much appreciated. Yeah my local site when from "just turn up" a few weeks ago to fully booked last night.

  12. Mostly that the RPM with standard mags is 1500. With the drum it goes up to 2000 and slightly higher power.
  13. Yeah. It's turned the AAP in to a whole different animal - especially for the first hundred or so shots. A shame about the durability, especially at the price! I often take back-ups of everything but will bear than in mind, cheers!
  14. Picked up the Kraken nub and it's only really if you want to hop sniper heavy BB's, as tried it with 0.36's. Zero hop applied = needs more hop. One click on the dial, sends them to the sky. I have since switched back to the standard AA nub, which is fine as it easily hops 0.30's with plenty of wheel to go. Definitely want to use this for village games at my local site. Early 340fps with no hop. Drops to a very consistent 316 when set to 0.30g. Besides, I've just picked up one of these while I was exchanging my 19X....?
  15. I installed the wheel adjustment chamber and 138MM ML Crazy Jet barrel last night. In case anyone was wondering, 138MM is the max length you can use on the Black Mamba kit without it extending past the muzzle break cutout and looking a bit silly. This hop chamber is interesting as it changes the system from the standard pistol hop arm to a proper arm and nub, similar to an AEG setup. Just because I get FOMO over these things, I've jumped back on skirmshop and ordered a kraken flat nub to pair with the 50 degree flamingo bucking. Looks like it's going to be pretty epic though. I started off with the hop on about halfway and it was skying 0.3s. Chronoed around 336fps on 0.2's
  16. No make or model, could be a VFC I guess? Although someone really needs to introduce him to aliexpress if he paid that for those accessories. Optic:50Grip:35
  17. You failed to highlight "Unused for 3 plus years" So not only is it more expensive than new, you'll likely need to give it a thorough service before it even works.
  18. The really messed up thing is this is the SECOND one of these I've bought after a few drinks. They're cool but so big and heavy.
  19. Just seen they do a steel hammer, so will pick one up if it fails....not the end of the world for me as most of my primaries are SMG's. I like this one. It's flat but wide and has good grip on the face (unlike the cowcow), so I find it comfortable and without the safety getting in the way you can tune it to zero take-up. Let me know if you figure out why they tell you to put the small grub screw in the bottom though as I have no-idea what purpose it serves.
  20. @Steveocee - What would you recommend doing?
  21. That's literally the only reason I did it ? ....hey at least you guys won Eurovision! ?
  22. - Black Mamba Type A fitted. - Hadron Short Stroke Kit fitted (300% nozzle BBU spring and recoil buffer). TTI adjustable trigger (no safety) fitted. Most of it was really simple but I found reassembling the lower far more fiddly than actual Glock platforms. I've also just purchased the wheel adjustment hop unit, as with the BM kit you can no-longer access adjustment with the top still on. Will pair it with a 138MM Maple Leaf crazy jet and 50 degree Flamingo bucking. Full-auto is kicking out 25rps and should be over at least 330fps with the slightly longer inner barrel....think it's time to get a drum and go pistol only!
  23. Possibly there's another way to phrase it but how would you distinguish between "5th hand, been skirmished 300 times" and something which has been owned for a month or two and either hasn't seen a skirmish or just the once? If I was purchasing I would put significantly more value on the latter.
  24. Oh you know......somewhere outside The EU... https://www.airsoftworld.net/action-army-aap-01-black-mamba-cnc-upper-receiver-kit-a.html They also have type B.
  25. From what I understand, I'd need to keep the barrel length under 150mm. Anyway I've just picked up: * Black Mamba Type A upper * Hadron Shortstroke kit * 50 degree flamingo bucking * TTI flat trigger (the one without the Glock style safety) So will continue looking into the barrel and I want to pick up some mag bases but otherwise think it should be pretty beastly.
