  1. Not played for a few weeks due to general life busyness so really enjoyed stretching the legs at Apocalypse yesterday. It was quieter than usual with around 100-120 players but weather was foggy and cold to start and it was Remembrance Sunday so a few regulars and Marshalls had other duties. 2 min silence at the game brief which was very respectful. Took the G3 DMR, MP5 and SIG 226 and had issues from the start. Trigger on the G3 was intermittent following its MOSFET upgrade, apparently the optical trigger sticker doesn't like the shiny white LCT plastic sector switch plate, one day I will play a full game with this gun and bring it home working but its not this day! Switched to the trusty MP5, unusually for me I took the electric drum mag. I usually carry a few mid caps but I'm trying to decide if I need a LMG so I thought I would play a limited support gunner role (2 second bursts, etc etc) Drum worked fine for the first hour then stopped winding. I changed the batteries and messed around but I couldn't get it working so ran the 2x mid caps I found in the bottom of my bag for the rest of the day. Second hand £50 WE Sig 226 shot perfectly. First game was fall back and we were defending, started in the village which we held for a long time. I parked in the centre of the village with a couple of mates and we held our building for what felt like a long time. I stayed low and in the shadows and held the attacking team back from my doorway while the guys covered the windows. Eventually they found a sight line we couldn't cover and we had a grenade come through the window. After the walk back to spawn we held the edge of the village but got pushed back to no mans land. Lost no mans land quite quickly as there's limited cover and we were snipper/DMR picked off. Had a magical LMG moment when 5 guys tried to flank us to the right and I took them all down on full auto. I missed the final fall back to stockade as the drum mag stopped feeding but heard it was an epic fight with the attacking team winning in the last minute. A few players on our team were a bit salty about loosing, I don't think my cosplay soldiers with toy guns enthusiasm helped. Second game was rescue the downed pilot, he was our 'hostage' to start and we got ripped apart. The reds snipping team did an epic job of picking us off. I had limited ammo 200 ish rounds in the MP5 and 60/70 in my pistol so hid up and played a stealthy game. I thought I did well until they called the end of game and 6 red players stood up right on top of me, I recon I had another 2/3 minutes before they filled me full of lead or plastic? After a second defeat half our team up and left, to be fair we were spanked in the second game but hey at least I was having fun. Third game started with a team rebalance, I think we were down to about 15 players at this point vs 30 or so reds. Given the limited numbers we went back to village for a CQB domination game. I tried to get back to the building from the first game but was to slow and we held for a while but were pushed back, it was fast and frantic with lots of up close and personal kills, a brilliant run from one of the reds with only his Pit Viper cleared our building out. When we got back from re spawn we were grenade killed quickly and that was that. Forth game was a re run of the third with the winning team being the one with their flag in the oil drum. We got their first and held for a while but eventually got pushed back. When it got to around 4pm it was getting dark and teams were down to around 10 on each side so they called it. Personally had a great day, lots of contact and a few different game styles which I really enjoyed. I am annoyed by the gun gremlins and will get to the point where I take the G3 to a game and have it work all day.
  2. Considering an LMG for my next toy and not sure what to get. In my head I see myself laying down covering fire like a mad man for my team to advance and I've been playing this role with the well with the DMR, hanging out on the flank and picking off targets but its a bit slow at times so I'm looking to get back in on the action. My usual full auto of choice is a CYMA Platinum MP5 which gives 25rps at 1.1j on a .28 BB's. A LMG will be bigger, heavier and from what I've seen will have a lower rate of fire than the SMG. This is covered as my usual site allows full auto rifle/SMG for 2 seconds max but LMG can go full auto until you run out of ammo. Looking for advice as reviews on LMG's are a bit few and far between so my research has come up a bit short. I want the big heavy, bipod LMG experience, I have a LCT G3 which I use as my DMR and love the size, weight and feel of the thing. I have tried a few on field most are poly and sound very anaemic so not in the running. Only one I've seen I've liked is a HPA converted GBB of some kind, truly epic but well out of my budget and my local sites don't top up HPA tanks which will be a pain. Options so far are https://www.bespokeairsoft.co.uk/a-k-mk43-aeg-with-box-magazine Like to look of this and Airsoft Mikes recent review with his usual infectious enthusiasm has me very interested. Like the (slightly compact) Ramboness of the platform. https://www.bespokeairsoft.co.uk/ares-m60-e4-aeg-support-weapon-mg-005 Same gun but in Ares flavour, not sure if its better or worse than the above https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/novritsch-ssr249-machine-gun-aeg Love the para stock on the m249 and the spec / fire rate on this one looks more modern https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/krytac-trident-mk3-lmg?pv=27295 Another m249 like para stock but this looks more AR than LMG? Also like the look of the LCT RPD / RPK16 but these are out of stock everywhere I've looked.
  3. Yes, Book it in for a service with a good gun tech and they will shim, clean and grease the gearbox. A hop rubber and nub and it will improve your shot consistency and quiet the gun down. Should be possible for around £50.
  4. I suppose the first question is what don't you like about the way it currently shoots? In my small collection I have 2 of the same gun one has been upgraded, one is standard. The upgraded gun has Extended tightbore barrel (covered by a suppressor) - Slightly more power, slightly better accuracy 4uantum hop rubber and nub - Again more accuracy and consistency Gate Aster Mosfet - Mostly for trigger response if I am honest but also more programming and set up options and pre cocking Brushless motor - Slightly faster rate of fire, less electricity used per shot Upgraded cylinder - more consistency and tuned for the barrel length Shimmed to within an inch of its life - makes it quieter and a lot smoother The standard gun (bought used as a spare) is standard apart from the hop rubber and nub. You can tell the difference if you shoot them back to back, the unmodified gun is just a bit cruder, noisier, a little more inconstant, has a slower trigger response and uses more battery power but I am happy to use either gun as individually they behave very much the same. So question is what do you want that your current gun doesn't give you?
  5. Thanks mate, sorry assumed the others on the wall were also WE L85's as you already had the mags. Interested to hear how you get on with it!!
  6. What do they shoot like? After falling in love with my WE Apache MP5(s) I feel I need more GBB in my life and there have been a few used WE L85's roll through the classifieds which have been very tempting.
  7. Having a morning playing around with toys. 1st purchased a couple of weeks ago, WE Apache MP5K. Lovely gun, spotless condition came with 5 mags to give me enough to field a whole game (with the other 3 I already have). Local site have opened an indoor CQB and I think this is the coolest way to play the game. I have added an e-shooter tracer unit for the full laser beam effect 2nd Completed the DMR upgrade to the LCT G3, maple leaf 6.02 510mm stainless barrel, 4uantum hop rubber and nub and m130 spring. Shooting 1.88J on .36 BB’s like a laser. Had the selector modified to only shoot semi. After a couple of games it decided to shoot only full auto? Modified the trigger contacts as it was arcing giving the full auto then it decided not to fire at all. Now fitted a e shooter mosfet to solve those problems and now it’s shooting very well with a very short trigger pull. Modernised with the LCT m lok handguard and an unknown fore grip from the box of parts, trying to make this monster easier to handle, might look at adding a small bipod to the front but not convinced it will get used and just add weight? Any thoughts? 3rd WE Apache MP5, modernised with a Cyma m lok handguard to keep it looking like the G3. Had to modify it with a hacksaw to make it fit, like the look and it gives me options for torches and tracers for CQB or fore grips for woodland.
  8. Cool bag with lots of water / coke / monster etc. Tactical emergency Haribo. Comfy trainers (mostly as I can't drive in my boots) A couple of t shirts or long sleeve wicking fabric type tops as you will really feel the cold when you stop running about/sweating. Spare eye pro. Spare battery. Depending on site I sometimes take a camping chair if there's limited/no seating. Barrel sock as some sites say its mandatory.
  9. I've used both and to be honest can't say I notice the difference in both GBBR and AEG, but I'm not fussy and a terrible shot! Think originally the bios went bad over time or if they got damp and I've read some say you get more bits of BB in your barrel if you use bios. I just use what I can get as some sites / shops carry limited stock so if I want to use .28 or .32 or something else my gun of choice likes to run I just buy what's there.
  10. I have a couple of WE Apache MP5's 1. Bought a used from the classifieds, came with fixed and folding stock and surefire light and standard hand guard and 3 gas tight mags. Shoots really well but 120 rounds from the 3 mags is not enough. Cost £350 2. Bought a used MP5K PDW from the classifieds, came with 5 mags Cost £420. Carry all 8 mags into a game and come back empty after 2 hours but I need to move on from my usual spray and pray AEG game and learn to choose my shots. I also carry a small speed loader with 100 rounds in it so I can fill mags at spawn when I run out. Both shoot really well and were in great condition from their previous owners. GBB is fun and more realistic and can be done for £400 but it will be tight especially for mags and carrying ammo.
  11. Patrol Base have been good the couple of times I have needed to return kit for warranty work. Always sent back next day delivery in a fresh shipping box. I dropped a gun in while travelling for work and it made it home before I did. Fire support are great a sourcing kit, I needed a part for my LCT G3 which I couldn't find anywhere and my usual LCT shop said they couldn't get the part. Fire support ordered it from LCT in Taiwan and delivered it in a couple of weeks! Modern Warrior are my local store, always been good at warranty/upgrade work as they have a in shop tech. Surplus Store are also good with their own in store tech team for warranty/upgrade work.
  12. Have a look at Apocalypse in Kent, you can train from Stratford to Sittingbourne and then it’s 10 mins in a cab. They have a Call of Duty game most Saturdays, which are for kids and parents and an adult only game on a Sunday. Not been the call of duty games as I don’t have kiddos but the photos from site look like it’s busy, adult games can have 200+ players.
  13. Looks awesome, nice big battery space but agree with Der Der it’s strange having to carry a hex key all the time (taking mag on off for safe zone). The cardboard box mag won’t last one soggy game day before turning to mush, understand plastic ones break but I would need to get a steel/ali one fabricated to use this in game?
  14. Love this, I originally wanted to put one on my DMR as a I case someone slips inside the MED but I don’t think these have the 30m range to cover the gap.
