The indoor/outdoor thing. It's more about HOW you use the gun and not so much about WHICH gun you buy. Every swinging dick and his dog will try and tell you that you need some kind of 6 inch long uber high ROF machinepistol for CQB and that anything else will have you at a disadvantage. Ignore these people for they are talking shite. A standard length M4 is absolutely fine for CQB. The extra barrel length will help with range when you go outdoors too. Not to the degree that a full length rifle will make a difference over an MP5K for example but if you want one gun to do both then you won't go far wrong with anything around similar dimensions to the standard M4. Also anyone that tells you a SCAR is great for CQB "because you can fold the stock" is also talking bollocks. The only reason that the stock on SCARs or AKs or anything else made that way is so that they take up less space for storage and for carrying in vehicles. The rest of the time the stock should be extended. A SCAR is good for CQB because it's a great gun and not significantly bigger than an M4. Ditto 416s et al.

Paintball masks are very head size dependent as they cover more of your noggin. General consensus seems to be that the Dye masks fit smaller heads but work better. Personally I found that when I started out and was using my old JT 360 thermals that it was 1) impossible to get the gun anywhere near close enough to use the sights and 2) still fogged up like a mofo. They do give you a better sense of protection around your face/head though which is nice.

I bought some "action" M4 midcaps and they just would not feed in my M4. Mind you they were only about £6 each so I guess you do get what you pay for.

Never liked the solid stock on MP5s. SD6 all the way for me. Integral silencer, sliding stock and NO RAILS!!!! In this enlightened age of LiPos nobody should have to pick a full stock gun to get enough battery life.

Yeah, doors open around 8am. Guns need to be chrono'd by the start of the safety brief which they usually aim to be around 9/9:15. Brief takes about a day and a half (I jest it's about half an hour depending on how many dickheads keep talking and interrupting). Last game usually finishes around 4:30pm. They no longer provide lunch onsite due to insurance restrictions but Reading high street is literally just around the corner with McDonalds and Subway or newsagents for sandwiches etc. They do still provide free tea and coffe and sell some snacks, just no hot lunch.

It amuses me though that places like OAF seem almost entirely populated by (mostly) US grunts that see any airsofter as a soft target for abuse. If any airsofter dares to post and they find pictures of him/her on their feed they get ripped to shreds and yet here we have a guy that was a member of the raid to get Bin Laden and he thinks (rightly) that it's all good fun. Equally on one of the FB airsoft pages (UK based) someone posted a picture of a "Taliban Hunters Club" morale patch they'd just bought and he immediately got torn off a strip about how he shouldn't wear it because he didn't "earn it". The last post I saw was from an 18 year ex serviceman suggesting that everyone just calm the fuck down because it's not like a rank or unit insignia and that seeing as troops are no longer allowed to wear patches of that ilk in the field it's largely academic! I find it bizarre that someone should get that level of dressing down for not "earning" a morale patch that soldiers aren't even allowed to wear anymore. Tactical Beard Owners Club will accept airsofting as valid cause for membership so why the butthurt over this?

You'll need to book a bit sharpish then. Bank Holiday weekends are ALWAYS busy there. They only have 20 walk on (non booked) spaces on a Sunday and they WILL sell out fast (plus you'll need to be there at 7 to start queuing if you're not booked in).

He'd hit you granted, whether or not he'd do a lot of damage is another matter. Don't know about you but most of me is a little tougher than a balloon. Plus bearing in mind he's using a high tolerance weapon with high performance ammunition designed for shooting at extreme ranges and he is an exceptionally good shooter and he still missed with the first shot. There's a huge difference between maximum range and maximum effective range... Anyway as for the topic, it's a silly rule. Silly, silly, silly.

If it's just the shell you need then ebairsoft do the same can without the tracer gubbins for a lot less. They also do it without the logo stuff. Have a google for Sig MCX. The one in the picture you refer to is an early prototype. All the others have integral suppressors like the Honey Badger. Aesthetics are aesthetics though regardless of the function of the weapon. To me they look pretty similar on account of the form following function principle. I do prefer the stock on the Honey Badger but it's only like that because at its heart its still an AR receiver with the old style gas system.
