Trojan Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Hi, I'm new to this forum and new to repairing. Recently my King arms stopped working so I tried getting it repaired, as I live in Carlisle we only have one technician, Tone, but he cannot do any jobs until October. The problem is the gun won't shoot. It's not due to the battery, fuse (there is no fuse), or motor and so I believe it is down to the trigger contacts (any other ideas please), which is located in my Gearbox. Anyway the current problem at hand is that after dissassembling my rifle successfully (yay!) I seem to have misplaced the silver fake bolt thing which after pulling back the charging handle opens the dust cover. The dust cover does not open now. My receiver has a slightly different one to the many tutorials on youtube. Could any of you offer me a link to a tutorial on youtube to fixing it. I am having a really hard time and would appreciate it greatly! This is what the misplaced bolt looks like if any of you are wondering: http://i.imgur.com/OiOaFIL.jpg

Trojan Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Thanks for the link but have you not checked the image I linked to in the OP. I see that after reading it I may have been unclear, I have those parts except I have misplaced them (its fallen off) and I need to reinstall them back into the Upper Receiver. Could you show me how I can reinstall the ornment plate
Supporters Lozart Posted July 3, 2014 Supporters Posted July 3, 2014 Right - it's bit of a faff but I'm guessing there's a little groove (probably a stuck on strip of rubbery plastic) just below the ejection port hole on the inside of the receiver? With the upper receiver off and the barrel etc well out of the way you need to place the ornamental cover into the receiver making sure the end of the charging handle engages into the edge of the cover (so that pulling the handle still pulls the cover back). Gently slide it into place in the groove and you should be all hunky dorey again.
Trojan Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Hi thanks for that, When I try to install the lower and upper receiver back it wont fully go in. Also the hop up and barrel seems loose, there is also a small brass o (o ring?) that keeps falling out of the hop up chamber.. should I duck tape the seal from the madbull barerel to the hop up. And finally once the receiver is on the ornament plate wont lock back in place when pulling the charging handle. http://i.imgur.com/dNNBlHj.jpg Really sorry about all the questions, just beginning to work on my gun for the first time and I feel that asking around is the best way to go.http://i.imgur.com/KrE1iuv.jpg

Trojan Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Whaa? It looks exactly as the same as this one here: http://www.replicaairguns.com/storage/thumbnails/7262430-17255199-thumbnail.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1332629564384 Could you explain a bit more please
Supporters Lozart Posted July 3, 2014 Supporters Posted July 3, 2014 Can you take a pic of the inside of the receiver with the plate and charging handle in? I can't really tell what's not right from that.
Supporters Lozart Posted July 3, 2014 Supporters Posted July 3, 2014 Also - with the upper not going all the way back, is the gun front or rear wired? If front, take a look into the magwell and check the wiring isn't fouling the hop unit.
Trojan Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 Before I continue you reckon this is a simple fix, all I have to do is fix the receiver's problem and possibly replace the trigger contacts (gun wont send power to motor).... I would have quit days ago and sent to my tech but he is out of work until October! Do you think I can get this fixed by myself? My gun is rear wired. Whenver I pull back the charging handle the silver ornament plate flips out and derails!! Here are the pictures before and after I actually pull the charging handle: http://imgur.com/efpNawi,TWUcnf3,9x7V2Nw,WIo3gZ0,95t8zk9,UH5JMEi,Q4Lq6CT,rYovAau
Supporters Lozart Posted July 4, 2014 Supporters Posted July 4, 2014 I think it's a simple fix, whether or not you think it is may well be a different matter! If the bolt cover plat is popping out when you pull it back then I am wondering if it's slightly bent out of shape? They're incredibly flimsy things. Also - who put the yellow tape in there and why? The bolt cover just doesn't look like it's in quite right. As you pull it back it looks like it's popping out of the little rail along the side of the receiver. Does it only do this when you try and do it with the gun apart? It's frustrating because it probably is a really simple fix but without getting my hands on it I just can't really tell exactly what's going on. Sorry.
Trojan Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 I imagine so. Anyways I have just reassembled the gun without that flimsy piece of shit annoying me. I don't think it has any use other than aesthetic purposes and so aesthetically I don't care about it. I still have a minor problem and then I am stress free. There is a small spring that I need to compress again (because it holds the front pin). Any ideas on how I can go about compressing the spring so that it pushes against the pin, keeping it in place

There is a small spring that I need to compress again (because it holds the front pin). Any ideas on how I can go about compressing the spring so that it pushes against the pin, keeping it in place The bolt cover plate is mostly aesthetic, it does keep the crap out of your hop though so if yo're going to run without it, keep an eye on the hop and make sure it doesn't get all cruddy. Not sure what you mean with the spring to be honest (my M4 doesn't have anything like this). I use locking pins that have a screw on cap on the opposite end to the head of the pin. Works fine - no spring, nothing. http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/guarder-m-16-enhanced-steel-retainer-pins-m4-m16
Trojan Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 http://i.imgur.com/wiU7g0l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SjcAlpG.jpg the spring used to be a lot more springier and put pressure on the front take down pin.

Not seen one like that before! Pull it out and stretch it a bit. Use a pair of fine nose pliers to pull it.
Trojan Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 Yep, done that thanks now works greatly. Ok so another fault I have is the mag release button.................. RRGH that damn button has become stripped (turns out common issue) and the allen key needs to be around 0.7mm to fit anyway. Could I lever the button out using some flat head screwdriver?

If the screw is still in there, you'd be better off drilling out the screw and then getting a new release lever.
