CaptainDumbass Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 First off, this is NOT a thread asking for advice on a new gun i want. I would just like to hear everyone's opinions on what you personally believe to be the best AEG, HPA or GBBR for around the price of £1000. Whether its out of the box or built from scratch. As long as they are not PTW/CTW/DTW's.
Supporters jcheeseright Posted August 29, 2014 Supporters Posted August 29, 2014 TM SOPMOD, prometheus internal bits (gears, spring guide, piston, piston head, cylinder head), eagle 6 spring, BTC Spectre MOSFET, firefly hop rubber and nub. Put a decent battery (11.1v, high discharge rate) in that and it'll batter anything else you can get for the money, real sword guns included. Depends entirely on the quality of the installation of course, if you just wedge the bits in without properly shimming, correcting AOE on the piston etc it'll be a bag of shit.
Mr Monkey Nuts Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Personally, in my opinion? There are much better things to spend a grand on than an airsoft gun, especially when you consider that you can buy various very good aegs for a £600 budget. Lozart 1
Trojan Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 get a TM recoil shock and then call it quits.. spend the rest of the £400 in airsoft stuff if you like.. or just do something else with it!
Supporters Sitting Duck Posted August 29, 2014 Supporters Posted August 29, 2014 Suppose if my £1,000 gun goes tits up on me then I would have to switch to my £750 pistol then jeez - can never see me spending much more than half that on just one gun myself unless I win lottery - maybe PolarStar but I'll bet some Arab Prince kid has a 20k bling'd out mofo gun as well as his own SWAT team of bodygaurds with REAL firearms on them follwing him around (yeah not wise to light that kid up if he ain't taking his hits me thinks) soz to derail thread & pi$$ off anybody
Happy Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Polarstar as previously stated. Only problem is some sites ban them as the fps is adjustable :/ I'm with Monkey though - no way would I spend a grand on a single rifle.
CaptainDumbass Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 Like i stated, i dont want to buy a gun and definitely not in that price range, i was just curious what people would get if they had that sort of money!
Supporters M_P Posted August 29, 2014 Supporters Posted August 29, 2014 To be honest I wouldn't go near a polar star, I've thought about them and considered it a couple of times but the gas tank and stuff would get on my tits, I think the performance and stuff is impressive but just a bit of a step backwards. Supporters Sitting Duck Posted August 29, 2014 Supporters Posted August 29, 2014 I'd like to own a Polarstar for a short while to see what the fuss is all about.... Then knock up some crude DIY system of my own fitted to JBBG for a laugh Yup I reckon it should take too much to knock up and rip piston/spring out keep most of old gearbox - tappet plate etc for loading bb's - delay added Already spoke to a guy who makes pcb's n stuff I buy from, what is required is a basic adjustable pattern controller to controller the burst and rate of fire all in milliseconds - probably could knock a crude one up using a picaxe chip and use npn mosfets like I've done in past to activate solenoid valves.... Mac Solenoid valves like used in some paintball gun upgrades heck even rip a paintball gun apart and convert - not rocket science But - to me it isn't real airsoft with the marvelous bit of engineering like in the regular gearbox's n stuff creating the force to propel the bb, All those gears/springs that just miss each other - an amazing invention ok not nuclear fusion but clever stuff all the same Polarstar on reg skirmish - nah be like going out on a football pitch for a little kick about and finding out German World Cup team is your opponents ffs I like it the way it is - I struggle to stay alive atm let alone get raped by other team running with bling'd out Polarstar's - avoid Edgware Road Skirmishing then

I had an ambition to import a polarstar for a while, but obviously I would have to get it two toned from evike. Turns out they do it in orange so I was thinking if it ever did happen would post it on the picture thread to see the replies. Don't think I want to do it now tbh, you gotta spend £250 on tank and regulator, + the actual thing... I think a nice GBBR would be better
Supporters Qlimax Posted August 29, 2014 Supporters Posted August 29, 2014 Wolverine SMP unit. Built mine complete £750. Works like a dream
GiantKiwi Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 G&P WOC with G&P Silver Steel Bolt, Steel TCG inc uprated 150% springs, well under the budget. Could throw in a few Prowin V2's to make it that little bit sweeter.
Russe11 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Shoot and Scoot Vickers: £775 okay the tripod takes it over budget at £300, but only just. If you can find a team to run a machine gun and cart it around, why would you not want a Vickers!
