GingerBreadMan Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 My combat machines gearbox stopped and someone told me that it had probably locked. I took it to airsoft zone and they said that the piston and/or gear were partially stripped and it would cost me about 50 to replace them at minimum. So I want to do it myself and want to know what gears and piston to get if I need them and where to get them.

GingerBreadMan Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Great thanks, would these also perform better than the stock gears and piston
ak2m4 Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 It will do mate, as long as you fit them properly of course. Plenty of videos out there to help along the way :-)
GingerBreadMan Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Thanks for the advice, would the gears need grease, if so what grease do I get? Also what is the difference between the teeth? For example this one says 7 teeth http://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/pistons-heads/shs-piston-7-teeth-super-shooter, but this one says 3 http://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/pistons-heads/shs-piston-3-teeth
ak2m4 Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Teeth generally are either steel/metal or nylon/plastic. You'll find the first tooth generally always metal since this tooth takes most of the strain when pulling back a piston. Full metal are generally a little more expensive but it all comes down to what type of gearbox your going for. Generally for a standard replacement a 1 tooth piston is fine like this one: http://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/pistons-heads/shs-piston-1-tooth You'll definitely need some grease, you can pick up some from general DIY shops or I do sell some in small tubes http://www.ak2m4.co.uk/index.php?route=product/search&search=grease Hope that helps a little.... team flex 1
GingerBreadMan Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Wow thanks for the help and it I need anything I will order it from you. As the gears would need grease I guess the piston would too?
ak2m4 Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Yeah mate, generally the same grease works well. As with the Gears any good performing grease for mechanical parts is fine. Not quite sure what products like B&Q sell these days but I remember years ago buying a huge can of white lithium grease - was expensive but lasted ages. Some others may have a different idea as to what brand/product works best.
