orbitaldx Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Hi, I'm from the Hillingdon Area and my friend is introducing me to airsoft. We are going to be playing at The Mall in Reading. Since I really like a good pistol and also since I'm going to be playing in a close-quarters indoor environment I've currently gone for a Resident Evil style 'Samurai Edge' Beretta and a Hi-Capa 5.2 complete with barrel-mounted meat tenderizer. I don't know that much about airsoft or guns in general so I thought this would be a good place to find advice and find out about good places to go. Aside from The Mall, does anybody know anywhere good in my area? I am considering going to Bunker 51 which I think is in Greenwich, if I recall correctly. Anyway, thanks for reading.
Yawns Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Hi! Welcome to the forums As for the mall, I too plan to make a visit soon. If you have any enquires about the site, shoot Lozart a PM, As I believe he is a regular there. Lastly, Have you brought the pistols or are you considering getting them? Either way pics would be cool, Sounds interesting
dapprman Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 You'll find that even with CQB you're better off with a carbine or SMG than a pistol. Best do rentals at the sites you go for and see how it goes. As for other sites, there's Red1 at Hunton Bridge near Watford (I as there today), xSite Outpost near Dunstatable/Tring, xSite Lands End near High Wycombe (not been to that one myself yet).
orbitaldx Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 Thanks for replying. I have the pistols, I took a few photos just for you, complete with a close up of the 'tenderizer'. I have decided to link to them rather than embed directly because I'm not sure exactly how embedding works on this forum and I don't want to accidentally create a post with 4 massive pictures that takes up the whole screen. Anyway, the links are below. http://i.imgur.com/GSN1w2K.jpg The Beretta http://i.imgur.com/bkHRdW0.jpg The Hi-Capa http://i.imgur.com/wo0kfnp.jpg The barrel of the Hi-Capa http://i.imgur.com/Z3kdxsI.jpg Both guns, for size comparison Maybe we'll run into each other at The Mall. dapprman, one of the things people keep telling me is to go with fun and aesthetics rather than efficiency or realism, which is partially why I'm happy to just go in guns akimbo for now. Having said that, I'm sure I'll get an SMG or a rifle of some sort a few paychecks down the line. Any recommendations?
Baz JJ Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Theres a milsim at Kings Langley (just off J20 M25) on Saturday and Sunday (20th and 21st September).
Albiscuit Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Was at the Mall today, and attend Bunker regularly, also from London so no doubt will get shot by you soon
Supporters Monty Posted September 1, 2014 Supporters Posted September 1, 2014 You'd be better off selling one of the pistols and using the money for a AEG, ideally a CM16.
Thealebear Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Always try to get a G&G combat machine as its the ideal starter gun.
