Supporters Lozart Posted September 19, 2014 Supporters Posted September 19, 2014 Around christmas time I think I might start getting parts to make a block2, but no internals. I don't really have the cash to buy a whole new gun so I could make a gutted one then swap out the GB and motor to go into the new receiver. Thats if i dont end up buying a CM18. Does anyone know where to get a block2 part sheet/list at full resoplution? http://www.dtic.mil/ndia/2005smallarms/thursday/taylor.pdf
CaptainSwoop Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I carry Midcaps and a backup Hi Cap. I can burn through all my midcaps in an hour of play and have to get out the Hi. There is a lot more shooting in the general run of Airsoft compared to real life. Airsoft is a day of continuous contact Players would have to be issued with a fixed number of BBS at the start if they were all expected to fight evenly using 'realcap' magazines. There would be a lot less shooting which might be more realistic but would be boring as hell. I play to shoot people and be shot. not to sit around for hours waiting for a couple of minutes of contact. straffham and Lozart 2
Baz JJ Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I think you've summed up the main difference between skirmishing and milsim. I think the mindset of skirmishers and simmers is very different. To the latter, an airsoft weapon is just a part of the experience; its another piece of equipment. The fun of milsim is more about the immersion of a scenario. Things like using vehicles, handling a range of military equipment and proper planning and execution. Neither is right or wrong, its just about what you enjoy as a recreational player. I carry Midcaps and a backup Hi Cap. SimonQuigley Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 Can anyone tell what kind of plate carrier these guys are wearing? http://pakol.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/20120711-215226.jpg
Airsoft_Mr B Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I don't know much but to me the one on the right looks like a RICAS and the middle could be a Crye AVS? SimonQuigley 1
Supporters Nutster Posted September 23, 2014 Supporters Posted September 23, 2014 Judging from the mass of Paraclete pouches between the 3, the guy in the middle and on the right are wearing an RAV not sure on the left hand guy though SimonQuigley 1
Supporters jcheeseright Posted September 23, 2014 Supporters Posted September 23, 2014 All three are wearing Paraclete RAVs in various configurations. Photo is pre-AVS by a number of years, I'd say 2008-9 I I were to take a guess. The RICAS is made by warrior assault systems and has probably never been worn by any US serviceman since they're not berry compliant. SimonQuigley 1
SimonQuigley Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Would it be worth getting the TMC AVS? I've heard very mixed reviews over a few forums
team flex Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Not sure if I asked but what are people's thoughts on the flyye 6094 pc?
Supporters jcheeseright Posted September 25, 2014 Supporters Posted September 25, 2014 Flyye 6094 is well made, but it's a copy of the 6094B so it's LARGE, unless you're a pretty well built guy it'll hang off you. TMC AVS is absolute garbage, avoid.
SimonQuigley Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 I see, whats the best 6094 replica under £100? I've seen the emerson and TMC but i expect they'll be of similar quality
Supporters jcheeseright Posted September 25, 2014 Supporters Posted September 25, 2014 it's a little bit over, but you could probably make the money back by selling some of the pouches:http://www.semapogear.com/index.php/multicam-6094a-type-vest.html Airsoft_Mr B 1
SimonQuigley Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 Nice, quite tempted at £120 posted
Supporters jcheeseright Posted September 25, 2014 Supporters Posted September 25, 2014 semapo make the best repro stuff you can get. Airsoft_Mr B 1
team flex Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 JC how is the jpc in terms of sizing. I'm quite small
Supporters jcheeseright Posted September 25, 2014 Supporters Posted September 25, 2014 pretty adjustable, though even the small size is designed for an adult.
SimonQuigley Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 They are quite small, if i could change the design, it'd be longer and covered more of the upper chest, but they are made for lightweight setups for jumping
n1ckh Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Aren't such things designed primarily to be small and compact ?? so it doesn't impede on your hips when crawling, bending down, running in the monkey crawl position, in and out of windows and buildings
Supporters jcheeseright Posted September 25, 2014 Supporters Posted September 25, 2014 yeah, the JPC is pretty much designed to hold SAPI plates and soft armour backers in the lightest way possible while still being sturdy enough to jump out of a plane with it on and fight in it.
n1ckh Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 At least body armours got better since I was in Bloody steel plates, felt like you had a snake wrapped around you, couldn't have it to lose or it would break your nose or something when running
SimonQuigley Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 it's a little bit over, but you could probably make the money back by selling some of the pouches: http://www.semapogear.com/index.php/multicam-6094a-type-vest.html I don't think it includes the pouches, i'll look around but its still an option
cavninja Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I think in the most part you'll be hard pressed to find a good, quality PC with pouches for less than £100, maybe even £150, here are three pretty decent ones, but they may be out of your price range: http://www.uktactical.com/p-6617-warrior-dcs-m4-multicam.aspx http://www.uktactical.com/p-8401-warrior-ricas-compact-m4-multicam.aspx http://www.bulldog-tactical-gear.co.uk/equipment/plate-carriers/bulldog-assault-mk2-plate-carrier-mtc-detail.html I've got a WAS DCS and I'm very happy with it, and it does bear a striking resemblance to the CPC type carriers that are around.
Supporters jcheeseright Posted September 26, 2014 Supporters Posted September 26, 2014 ahh yeah, you're right, shame. still a good option for a solid plate carrier though. SimonQuigley 1
Mike636 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I've also seen this http://www.ukmcpro.co.uk/load-carrying-systems/plate-carriers/coyote-tan-plate-carriers/defcon-5-plate-carrier-molle-belt-set-coyote-tan-detail.html No pouches but a battle belt. Apparently comes from the same factory as WAS
