Baz JJ Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 A friend of mine in the business works for this maker. The Kite is well known in the military but I cant find if anybody makes anything resembling it, shape-wise ? I can only find the usual Aimpoints, EoTechs etc
Supporters Lozart Posted October 9, 2014 Supporters Posted October 9, 2014 That IS an odd looking beast! I don't know that you'll have a lot of luck with that though as it is a night vision sight. There's not a huge call for replicas of anything that isn't US either (just look at the lack of decent AK scopes) hence the wealth of Aimpoints and EOTechs.
Baz JJ Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 Thats a shame because they are still being made and used by the British Army. Would have thought an important part of a British Army loadout.
Supporters jcheeseright Posted October 9, 2014 Supporters Posted October 9, 2014 yeah, but it's £8k of night vision kit. Airsoft_Mr B 1
Airsoft_Mr B Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 I've heard of them before. It's a night vision sight though, who would want one? People just buy replica NVGs.
Baz JJ Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 Yes its a replica Im looking for. Don't want the real thing otherwise Id get it from my friend who works there.
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted October 11, 2014 Supporters Posted October 11, 2014 ^^Can your friend not liberate a non working one that was headed for the bin?
Baz JJ Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 Not so easy and then it wouldn't have any form of optic, so it would just be for show.
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted October 11, 2014 Supporters Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) Not difficult to take the guts out of a bog standard 32mm/40mm tube red dot and fit them into the space vacated by the expensive bits of the sight you're after. I realise that getting hold of one may not be the simplest operation for your mate. Perhaps I should have said "liberate with extreme prejudice" - just depends how good a mate he is vs how penny pinching/fascist/struggling his employers are. Edited October 11, 2014 by Ian_Gere spelling doh!
Baz JJ Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 Not a Kitesight but similar http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/dummy-night-vision-optic-with-mounts-black-product,14840
