Snakeeyes75 Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Hey guys, as the title says! I just bought myself a Marui Scar L CQC. Firstly this thing is the mutts nuts! Can't see myself ever going back to my G&G now. One thing I noticed is that there sounds like there's something maybe loose in the top (Could it just be a bit of movement on the metal recoil block). When you hold the gun with the tip of the barrel pointing up, then turn it so it's pointing at the ground it sounds like a spring or something light is sliding backwards. It's not a loud sound and it doesn't do it from side to side movement. Can anyone check with theirs? It's worth noting that the recoil feels fine, gun shoots fine etc.. just the rattle. Supporters Samurai Posted December 21, 2014 Supporters Posted December 21, 2014 Maybe just a BB stuck inside?
Snakeeyes75 Posted December 21, 2014 Author Posted December 21, 2014 Maybe just a BB stuck inside? nah, doesn't sound like that, more like a spring sliding about
Supporters M_P Posted December 21, 2014 Supporters Posted December 21, 2014 It's a common thing, same on mine and all the others I've held when I was unsure Snakeeyes75 1
Snakeeyes75 Posted December 21, 2014 Author Posted December 21, 2014 It's a common thing, same on mine and all the others I've held when I was unsure Cool! I thought it must be as the gun works, if a spring was rattling about in the thing then surely something wouldn't be working EDIT: I'm just watching Eagle 6 takedown of the gun, I think it may be the smaller spring inside the main recoil spring. I take it the little one prevents the recoil weight bottoming out on the metal casing?
Supporters M_P Posted December 21, 2014 Supporters Posted December 21, 2014 Yeah it's something like that, I took it apart to find out but that was over a year ago so can't quite remember lol Snakeeyes75 1
Supporters jcheeseright Posted December 21, 2014 Supporters Posted December 21, 2014 If it's like a sliding noise then a clunk, it's part of the reciprocating bolt handle assembly... took me ages to work out what was doing it, perfectly normal though, they all do it. Airsoft_Mr B 1
Snakeeyes75 Posted December 21, 2014 Author Posted December 21, 2014 Hmm, Not really a "Clunk" sound, it really does sound like a spring or something just sliding about. From the takedown vid' I watched earlier I'm thinking it's the smaller spring that sits inside the larger one in the recoil block. if not that then something that's around the gearbox area.
Supporters jcheeseright Posted December 21, 2014 Supporters Posted December 21, 2014 I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same thing, it's an entirely normal noise which many, many people have spent hours and hours finding the cause of only to realise that it's pretty much fundamental to the operation of the gun! You won't notice it when you're playing if that's any help Airsoft_Mr B and Snakeeyes75 2
