Ashilta Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 ... But then I took a BB to the goggles. There appears to be no obvious damage and the shot was at some range, however is it the case as with cycle helmets and the like that on taking a hit I should consider replacing my goggles? Lozart 1
Supporters Lozart Posted May 21, 2015 Supporters Posted May 21, 2015 Is there any visible damage? How cheap are they? What's their impact rating?
Cady Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 For the sake of £20 I think I'd replace them. I've had some near misses with my eyes at work and lesson learned, but the thought of taking a bb to the eye scares the s**t out of me. skarra333 1
Sacarathe Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Is there some obvious detail missing that I don't see? I cant conceive of a situation where a normal goggle impact would necessitate replacement. For the sake of £20 I think I'd replace them. I've had some near misses with my eyes at work and lesson learned, but the thought of taking a bb to the eye scares the s**t out of me. £20 seems kinda cheap.
Supporters Esoterick Posted May 21, 2015 Supporters Posted May 21, 2015 As others have said I wouldn't replace them unless there's visible damage. If you are using some cheapo pair it's probably a good time to get some from a reputable manufacturer like Bolle, ESS or Revision. Decent eye protection shouldn't take more than a scratch from shots at close range, at least that's what i've experienced first hand.
Ashilta Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 No visible representation of damage whatsoever. I think I'll be OK for now but thanks for the input team!
Albiscuit Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 My Bolle glasses were only a tenner.... I have seen eye pro for a hell of a lot more, but these do the job nicely.. I wouldnt bother replacing unless there was a split, chip or such. Besides my forehead seems to take all the face shots I get, its like a frigging magnet!
Aunty Pasty Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Bolle for me at less than £10 each. I have 2 pairs of different styles and they're fine. Unless they're permanently marked I'd keep using them.
Supporters M_P Posted May 21, 2015 Supporters Posted May 21, 2015 You can get some very high quality glasses for £20 so it's nothing to be alarmed about Sacarathe 1
