Reptile Smile Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Hi all, Have finally sourced a charger off ebay and wired it up, only to find that the balance plug on the battery doesn't fit the RC charger. Grr. Any suggestions?
Baz JJ Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Never seen one like that ! How cheap was it ? You could try and source an adapter, rewire the charger connector or buy a better one. One area of airsoft I wouldnt skimp on is a lipo charger. Not only will bad ones cook your batteries but they might cause a fire. Im not saying yours is a bad one, but I would be very careful what I bought.
Reptile Smile Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Yeah, I don't think it's a bad one - it's this: http://www.multiplex-rc.co.uk/multi-charger-ln-3008-equ-192-p.asp They seem to be well respected. It just doesn't fit..!
Reptile Smile Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Think I've sorted it. It seems to be a 'flight power' connected, and my guess is I need this lead: http://www.componentshop.co.uk/flightpower-male-to-jst-xh-female-balance-adapter-leads-for-2s-7-4v-battery.html
Baz JJ Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Looks like a reasonable charger. QUOTE Our range also includes matching adaptor sets for batteries fitted with other Balancer connector systems. UNQUOTE Id send them an email or giventhem a ring and ask about an adapter for the connector on your LIPO.
Baz JJ Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Our posts crossed. Yes looks promising, I would still give them a ring to avoid wasting money on the wrong lead.
n1ckh Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Take your charger into an rc hobby shop & they can give you an adapter lead The charger is jxt connector & the Lipo is jst connector
Supporters Sitting Duck Posted July 9, 2015 Supporters Posted July 9, 2015 Is that a 11.1v balance port on charger Looks like it might be 4 pins n 4th pin hidden by angle of shot
Reptile Smile Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 There are 4 pins but it says 2s-3s so I presume the right conversion lead will get round this..?
Supporters Sitting Duck Posted July 9, 2015 Supporters Posted July 9, 2015 4 pins is 11.1v 3 pins is 7.4v So yeah just need adapter
