Magasaki Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Hi Guys, Does anyone have targets set up for practice at home? I have a long 'tunnel' for want of a better word underneath the stairs in my basement. The basement is accessed from outside so there's no staircase - just two block walls about 1m apart leading to a dead end about 5m away. I was thinking of setting up a firing range of sorts for pistol practice using paper targets and an old curtain behind to catch the BBs. Was just wondering if anyone has some kind of target practice set up at home? Cheers Tom
K@rl Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I married my target but now where wed she won't let me shoot at her anymore. Magasaki and djben9 2
RR01 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Had something similar set up in my loft. Make sure you have the curtain forming a slope into a box to catch all the BBs, as they get everywhere otherwise.
Mr Monkey Nuts Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 a couple of coke cans or bean tins, nice and reactive, have them stood up, or lay them onto their end for a smaller target. Although 5m is hardly any sort of range, i would expect my cat to hit a tin at 5m.
Magasaki Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 Yeah the range isn't really that good, that's why I'll just be using pistols at small targets down there. But it's better than nothing in a space that's not usable for much else!

Place the target on a coffee table in front, and then get the cleaner to hoover up any stray BBs. And ability to switch on/off different lights and lamps in the room to change the ambient lighting conditions. Randymanpipe 1
Supporters ImTriggerHappy Posted December 15, 2015 Supporters Posted December 15, 2015 Is there any point with a 5 metre range? Could hit targets at that range with a McDonald's straw. I use the building I work in. I can set a target at 50 metres and it has the added bonus of pissing the boss off when there are bbs everywhere. Jedi_Master 1
Head Moderator Jedi_Master Posted December 15, 2015 Head Moderator Posted December 15, 2015 Just make the targets very small to simulate a greater distance ImTriggerHappy, Randymanpipe and Fumps 3

rosco290 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I've done a similar thing using a couple of cushions and shooting from one room to the end of a hallway (about ten metres). My 3 year old daughter likes to run down and collect the bbs when we're finished. My Mrs thinks I'm mental.
mimozine Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 i made some targets at work, will get some pics tonight if anyone interested. there mobile so can put them anywhere.
Berto Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I hang a trowel from our washing line, makes a great sound and it's a moving target. I shoot from inside the house out the back doors, it's quite a built up area so I'd rather not risk scaring neighbours.
mimozine Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 i can set it up at 45feet and 100feet. Hudson 1
