Traffic84 Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction or had the same experience. After striping my Avalon down today for a service Iv found that one of the tabs has sheared off the quick release spring guide. Luckily this hasn’t fallen into the gearbox causing a complete failure! I’m using a M100 spring so I wouldn’t say it’s under a massive amount of strain. I have tried another V2 QR spring guide (end is 14.8mm diameter)but it doesn’t seat properly in the GB. The diameter of the VFC one is 17.3mm. Does anyone know of a better replacement that would fit properly or source a replacement from VFC and hope it doesn’t happen again?
Tonigc Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 I had exactly the same problem and I solved this week. I bought a spring guide designed for VFC from the brand FPS. I bought it in a Spanish web but surely you will find it in uk. Works perfectly. https://hobbyexpert.es/interno-guia-muelle-aeg-ver-2-c-rodamiento-fps-gmqd-for-vfc-qd-gearbox-aluminio-21023
Traffic84 Posted February 25, 2022 Author Posted February 25, 2022 Thanks for that, I actually managed to locate another one that would fit from ak2m4. The XT spring guide fits perfectly too.
