Cr0-Magnon Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Apart from price, is there any difference between something like this and the ones which are marketed as airsoft specific? (Abbey, Nuprol etc) https://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-and-fluids/lubricating-and-penetrating-oil/halfords-silicone-spray-lubricant-500ml-621277.html
strykerles Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 I use one from my work that we use for lubricating door hinges and window gearboxes and it works fine. Not had any problems with it Rogerborg and Cr0-Magnon 2
Tactical Pith Helmet Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 I use cheap as chips conveyor belt silicone oil. Unbranded stuff in a plain bottle. Nothing has caught fire, exploded or shredded itself to pieces in the years I've used it. Rogerborg and Cr0-Magnon 2

Personally I use the WD40 specialist sprays but that just because I'm a brand whore with more money than sense. Cr0-Magnon, Rogerborg and DerDer 3

(I'll probably get some next time I need)

ak2m4 Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 (edited) Not noticed a huge difference between the strays, however there's was a big difference in the quality of thicker silicon grease I tried. Nothing came close to Super Lube silicone grease. Not sure what they put in it - almost evil stuff! Probably a little overkill for Airsoft. Edited February 18, 2022 by ak2m4 Tactical Pith Helmet 1
Cr0-Magnon Posted February 21, 2022 Author Posted February 21, 2022 I did buy 2 x cans of this. As suspected the consistency seems the same and it's certainly far better value at £4 for 500ml compared to £6 for 150ml of the Abbey stuff. My only slight issue with it, is Cassandra's Dad (Only Fools & Horses, dodgy mobile phone scene) would describe it as "A bit urgent" It rushes out and causes a foamy puddle (don't be filthy!).
Cannonfodder Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 There was me thinking of a different Cassandra Lozart 1
