steverebo Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 So my gun is back up and running perfectly with no feeding issues or anything so in the interest in preserving the gearbox as much as possible I wanted to know if precocking is bad for the gearbox?
concretesnail Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 For the gear box in general, I've never had an issue precocking, however it does mean your spring will be compressed for an increased amount of time so its life span will be reduced slightly. If you don't decompress it after a game day then this fps loss over time will be dramatically shorter.
Skara Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 It does put extra strain on the piston/sector gear, but nothing I'd worry about. Most mosfets have the option to disable precocking on the fly, so once you're done playing you use said function and store the gun with the spring relaxed.
steverebo Posted February 24, 2022 Author Posted February 24, 2022 Perfect cheers guys that's exactly what I wanted to hear
