emilianoksa Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 If I wanted to have trades put on a pistol and also have it cerakoted, which job should be done first? Or does it not matter?
JimFromHorsham Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Deep engraving I’d do first , laser etch I’d do after . So it really depends on what you are trying to achieve .
emilianoksa Posted April 30, 2022 Author Posted April 30, 2022 Thanks for the reply. Are there deep engraving services available for pot metal airsoft guns, or is etching a better alternative?
JimFromHorsham Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 as said it really depends on what you are trying to achieve and how detailed you want to go , your base material will determine what’s possible . better quality material will likely give better results , cheap cast parts that may have minor inclusions or inconsistent thicknesses could see you scrapping your project before you even get to paint . you need to speak to those who do it on the daily basis for the best advice really . If you’ve seen some custom work then just ask who did it and take it from there .
Guest Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 What @JimFromHorsham said, decide how you want the trades, deep, trades first, laser etched, Cerakote first
emilianoksa Posted April 30, 2022 Author Posted April 30, 2022 Thanks to you both for the advice. JimFromHorsham 1
