Going into Wrexham today so will pick up an M100 or M90/95 spring for my G&G, from the new shop.

So, first time taking apart a gearbox in preparation. ?

 

 

Im reasonably technically competent but old eyes and fat fingers might get in the way!

Luckily there are plenty of videos showing what to do.

May as well try a re-shim while you've got it open.

If there's no screws left over at the end ?

If there's screws left over but it goes pew ?

A bit of grease in the cylinder too whilst you have it apart! The anti reversal latch is a right pain, and to a slightly lesser extent, the trigger (at least for me). Both will frequently pop out when you try to put the two halves of the shell back together.

Its already been shimmed. ? Not if.the giy I bought it off did it or from the factory.

Im actually surprised how much grease is alteady in there! I was thinking about cleaning it up a bit.

Yes, they do usually come with some shims from factory but quite often just a basic level which can usually be improved.

Welcome to self teching!

 

Clean out all the shit grease that came in it from the factory and relube it with some half decent stuff. Not loads either.

Shimming from the factory will be the absolute bare minimum. Do it properly and it'll run smoother, be quieter and last longer.

You should get a couple of clips for the trigger and ARL. Makes a significant positive difference to putting the gearbox back together.

pfft, real pro's put it back together with more screws than came out of it during dissassembly
