Everyone will recommend the G&G Combat Machine M4s / G&G MP5A4. You could buy a transparent G&G CM16 (VCRA-compliant, so no defence needed) from Pro Airsoft Supplies (excellent retailer) for £100, or if you have a defence then Zero One Airsoft sell them too. ICS Sportline guns are similar to them and around the same price I believe. You will however need to buy a battery and charger too (there should already be a lot of threads on this so you don't need to start a new topic, but Component Shop are a great site to take a look at) If you can though since you are new to airsoft I would say try to go to a local shop if you can and get a feel for different guns. There might be a particular firearm you like the look of but you might not actually like the feel of it if you haven't handled one before. Hope this helps, and welcome to the forum.4 points -

Also, and I cannot stress this enough - so I'll use bold, italics and underline to help me - ...oh and caps: DO NOT BUY SOMETHING SH!T BECAUSE YOU'RE IMPATIENT. Seriously... Whoops... Seriously, remove the notion from your mind that you need a gun. You don't. You need more money. Spending £80 on an airsoft gun is a bit like spending £80 on toilet paper, because it'll end up down the poo chute either way. Save up until you can get a Combat Machine, because anything cheaper than that, simply won't be skirmishable. If you spend under £80 on some horrible orange monstrosity from the likes of JBBG, people will see you at a game and think you are "that guy" they will know that you have ignored people's advice against your better judgement, and they will think you're a tit for it. You would literally be better off hiring a gun from the site than buying something like that.2 points -

Judging by your posts, avatar and PM's I think this is what you're after: ASG Sten Mk2, Belgian Denison smock, Denim battledress, P37 webbing and anklets... My Favourite though is my Aussie gear, similar but with this jacket and hat plus a gas mask bag, tan boots and using my SMLE OR The hat with green shirt, US HBT trousers, M1938 lace up gaiters, P37 webbing, SMLE or Sten for a late war jungle look.2 points

Where can younger kids go to play airsoft in Somerset?
JamesAirsofterAgent and one other reacted to Yawns for a topic
You are 100% able to play airsoft, Some sites; specifically milsim sites sometimes won't allow younger players to play. Most if not all skirmish sites will. Me and Lord_Metile are both 14 and active members of the forums. There are most likely others but I don't know the age of 90% of other forum users. Welcome to the forums mate - As a younger player we welcome you!2 points -

Theres a fine line and that line moves around depending on whose drawing it. Some of the military guys get a bit uptight but who knows what theyve seen. Similarly some airsoft players seem to blur fact and. fiction and. take dressing up a little too seriously.2 points -

Let me re-phrase my point in that case; No one has ever had a policeman walk into their house without there being a reason for it, see a gun, say, "SHOULD THAT BE BLUE?" for you to then stupidly say, "Erm, yeah" and which point he'll go, "YOU'RE NICKED SANSHOINE!" Doesn't happen.2 points -

Hi, hope I'm not being annoying by asking so many questions but I need some help: I've had to completely scrap all my original ideas from what I've been told on here. Before I start: ALL THINGS NEED TO BE LEGAL UK TWO TONE thanks. So, I've got on the list the double eagle tri shot, not sure where to get it from though... Now, for a sidearm: Criteria: Electric preferably. Something like the glock or beretta Below£50.00 Thanks, that's that... Now for the main one. This one I will get. I have saved up £90 from endless chores and will carry on ( ) Criteria: Budget:Lower than £80.00 Electric preferably but not so bad if spring. Assault riffle like the m4a1 or like that. FEEDBACK greatly appreciated! Thanks! Sorry for so many questions. UPDATE: Is there anywhere else I can get the G&G CM16 carbine starter kit, it looks awesome but out of stock at pro airsoft suppliers.1 point -

As everyone else says, don't buy a gun for that price, you'll be pulling pieces off left right a center, for example, my Yika (Piece of crud, by the way), that I brought just because it was cheap as heck, fired nicely the first few shots, but hey, it was Chinese plastic and the piston broke, and for most 'cheap' weapons you're gonna get plastic internals and such, which may work for a while but will break in the long term, I have the luck of having a workshop where I can fabricate parts for my guns, most people don't, and you'll be paying a lot more money on repairs. My advice; don't buy a gun just yet, don't buy a gun because it's cool or anything, rent a gun while you save up for something, and do your research on said items, check reviews and such, make sure the parts are long lasting and the gun is reliable, because you're gonna have to keep that one 'till you get enough money together to get the gun and kit for what you really want, airsoft in this way is long term if you have no large income. Meanwhile I'm still gawking at guns I don't have the money for, I know your feel of not having a good gun of your own to skirmish with. And there ends my re-iteration of what everyone else has said.1 point -

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Russe11 for a topic
Okay, first thing, you do not want any gun that costs under £80, it will break and will not be capable of hitting anyone at a decent range. Secondly, as you are under 16, most sites will require an adult to play with you. This means you pretty much have to persuade a parent or other family member to take up airsoft. You may as well therefore wait for that adult to get UKARA registered (2 months from the 1st game with 3 games played at the same site) and then get them to buy you a non 2 toned gun. Ignore the sidearm, no-one needs a sidearm and put all the money into a decent main weapon. If you really want a ww2 weapon, then when a parent has sorted out UKARA it will be possible to import one from Poland without any issues. http://www.taiwangun.com/en/agm-058?from=listing&campaign-id=19 Otherwise look at something like a G&G combat machine. The difference between the 2 is vast. The G&G combat machines are very good beginners guns, they are well made and shoot well. They are made of good quality plastic that can take a lot of punishment and the internals are good quality. They are modern guns so you can add sights and other accessories easily. The ASG sten (AGM if bought outside the UK) is not really a beginners gun, it has no fire selector or safety, so you have to not pull the trigger by accident. It is made of steel so if you drop it, it will break your toes not the gun and it shoots really well (they are so good the German players complain about them being too good). You are stuck with just ironsights and because they are full auto only you cannot use them indoors (there is a way around this by using a burstwizard mosfet, which is a tiny circuit board you plug in between the battery and the gun).1 point -
very confused about sale of RIF's in a shop in cambridge?
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Airsoft-Ed for a topic
There's a pretty gigantic market of replica air weapons as well, I used to have a Walther CP99 that fired 4.5mm lead pellets, but that was most definitely a RIF, it was as real looking as they come. But to buy that I just had to be over 18, because it's classed as an air weapon. Even though it looks equally as realistic as an airsoft gun, and even though the muzzle energy would've been close to 5 joules, if not more (not sure what air gun pellets weigh). There's an airgun version of the Dan Wesson revolvers too, they're just chambered for .177 copper BBs instead of 6mm plastic ones, that's the only difference. Yet for the 6mm one, you need UKARA, and for the more dangerous one, you don't. #BritishGunLawLogic! Edit: Kinda forgot my point... They were probably air guns and not airsoft ones.1 point -
You are right But nobody gives a shit it's only them that would be in trouble.1 point

How do you feel after a game day?
JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Russe11 for a topic
If it's a WW2 game, I will be knackered from the game, hungover from the post game social and tired from not sleeping well in my tent, which you can guarantee I pitched on top of some hidden rock. I then have to get home by train carrying everything before dumping everything in a pile and falling into bed. By comparison, a normal skirmish is easy. The last one I did, I had a 15 mile cycle to get there, having gotten up at 5am. I was carrying a Lee Enfield and a sten (2 rather heavy guns). Did a day's skirmish in blistering heat, then cycled to the nearest train station (about 5 miles). Everyone else was complaining they were knackered from the skirmish! I don't really worry about what I could have done better, for me its about having fun. I just find that I'm in a good mood for a few days after a game. My standard gear: Pattern 37 webbing, which I wear. Lee Enfield in a canvas Valise bag Sten with stock removed fits in a large P37 pack Ammo, speedloaders and sten mags fit in P37 webbing pouches (possibly chocolate as well). 2 pairs of goggles, gas, 3 batteries for the Sten (it burns through batteries) in small P37 pack (inside Large pack for a skirmish or worn with a shoulder strap if taking camping gear) Camping gear for WW2 games: Foam Mat, sleeping bag and Goretex bivvi bag all rolled up together ( I used to take a tent but this saves space and weight). Mini Trangia + meths Coffee, milk and sugar Enamel mug Spare socks (I can handle 2-3 days in the same clothes but clean socks are a must) Tins of spam and oatcakes for lunch break Bacon and bread for breakfast BEER! (last game I carried a small keg to the game, I was popular) Hurricane lamp + Parafin I have to be able to carry all this, to and from stations or whilst riding a bike. It does however give an idea of what it would be like for an actual soldier in WW2 when on the move. During the game, I will carry 1 gun, sten mags if I'm using the sten, speedloaders pyros and possibly chocolate in my webbing; spare goggles, gas and ammo in small pack. If I wear a gas mask bag, ammo and speed loaders go in it for faster access.1 point
