If you go for an M1911, in the name of all that is sacred DO NOT buy the WE.......1911 style GBB pistols have poor enough efficiency due to the small size of the gas tank in the magazines (as they're so thin), and the WE has to push back a heavier metal slide as well, further ruining it's efficiency. The best bet for an M1911 would be a TM, as they're extremely gas efficient (lightweight plastic slide) and they have the magic all TMs have. And you can be proud you own a TM.

So after a lot of back and forth I decided the best thing to do was to actually visit a retailer and make my decision. I was adamant I wanted a G&G scar but holding it and having it in my hands it just didn't feel right for me (great gun but just not for me) After much deliberating I decided to go with the norm G & P M4 MK18 MOD 1

I recommend he saves up some more money.

TM do loads of aeps, probably more than they do gbbs to be honest. Get GBB if you can, I think the tms are all similar in cost.

Just to provide another view point, folks don't actually havep to dress up like navy seals to play airsoft. #justsayingbro Only messin' of course. IMO, the MBUS work pretty well aesthetically. I'd swap the A2 grip and tirgger guard pretty sharpish because there's a lot of potential ergonomic gains there, but each to their own obviously. Be wary of attached-a-ton-of-stuff-to-rail-including-a-VFG-then-just-grip-magwell syndrome though, it's a highly infectious condition. What brand is it out of interest?

Btw, not sure if it is the same with G&P but after a day of playing with my G&G my hands hurt so much because of the pistol grips sharp edges, but then again yours was probably twice the price

I say again. Bullshit. No amount of tarting up or increasing power will enable you to send an airsoft BB 450'. The faster a BB goes the more wind resistance affects it, the only way to overcome that is to have heavier BBs. Whoever claims to have done it is talking shit.

Regardless of the amount of tarting up 450' just can't be done with a 6mm bb that weighs less than 0.5g.

The way I see it, if there is a lack of skilled UK airsoft design and manufacture, that's an opportunity... It will be a niche area, but as with most anything, skill and quality are valuable commodities that people will pay for. One of the things worth thinking about is the various rings that make up Airsoft. Guns and RIF aren't the whole hog. Design a better lasting battery, not only might airsoft appreciate it, Apple might be buying your patent. And then there is the mask/goggle system... Nobody to date has developed a goggle system with an inbuilt HUD and software allowing proper force command, blue on blue detection etc in Airsoft and Paintball. The military are trying of course, things like the Q-Warrior. And some CoD fans tried to get a smartphone based App allowing you to play airsoft just like a game. But anybody who designs this for airsoft and pb will really have something the monied of the sports might shell out for eh... Not to mention the potential real world buyers (like army and police forces etc). But these are mere brain farts. Get trained in as many skillz that will keep you employed as you can. If you try to make it in airsoft and fail, you still need to make the rent.

Try a thicker oil. Aerosol ones are very thin in order to spray well, that means the oil has to be applied more often. Look for silicon gun oil in a dropper bottle. be warned, you may get some adult sites when googling it, as it has other uses apparently
