  4. How did the dude get to be squad leader? Doesn't seem like he was promoted based on ability... Unfortunately the idea of skirmishing being a smooth running military op seems an impossible dream, unless you had to prove your athletic/tactical/shooting abilities to play it first. At least it's not a giant stag-do like paintball.

  5. I joinded a squad on a milsim game. We saw two enemy squads and they saw us too. They took cover in bushes and ditches. Then the sqad leader ordered us to do a frontal attack. This was our "cover". I couldn't believe it so I took a photo while staying behind. Another disappointment is skirmishing in the UK. It's just paintballing with airsoft guns.

    Washing bb's

I guess a lot of people don't realise that BBs are actually polished, and they come with a slight waxy coating. One of the reasons this is done is to avoid the plastic of the BBs being laid down into the inner barrel and slowly destroying the surface. Snipers don't fire many rounds so they can get away with the residue problem and just clean their weapons barrel often enough that it likely never becomes an issue. However an AEG can fire a lot of rounds in a day and end up laying down a sufficient amount of melted plastic such that it doesn't come off. The waxy coating has two impacts, it gets left behind in the barrel and needs regular cleaning and it reduces the effect of the hop rubber on the BB as it slides past. But compared to having melted plastic in your barrel its a better option.

  9. Alternatively, WE thought of a great way to resolve the issue... Fill the mags with gas and join us on the dark side

Marushin Fn5-7. Felt like a springer, mold lines everywhere, wouldn't cycle on anything other than 134a and could have been beaten by a McDonald's straw.

Personally - I feel that washing your BBs falls under the long list of things that life is just too short for. Like bad coffee or Jeremy Kyle.

  19. Is that a video called 'Safety First' where people are wearing no eye pro while someone is shooting, in what looks like the safe zone?

    Marshals

As others have said marshaling really makes the difference. Biggest gripes for me are if they are blatantly not paying attention to a firefight right in front(once had two marshals chatting whilst two players very close to them wouldn't take their hits for instance) of them or think they can shout at you for minor infringements. I'd heard people going on about how the marshals at Bluestreak get you to do press ups. Turns out they do it only to people who had mags in their gun in the safe zone or went into the game area without eye pro. It's all done in jest but hopefully the safety aspect sticks with people. I still think more sites need to test shoot people though as standing right next to a load of players just tells any would be cheat to pack it in till they move on. The amount of times a player who possibly wasn't taking hits and lo and behold with a marshal within earshot suddenly does is considerable.

And I still need the help of my tiny weak girlfriend to close the gear box in my g63, no matter how many times I've had it apart ? Do the people who make them in the factory have 2 normal size man hands and another 2 pair the size of a small girl !

  26. I thought it was a good site. It's a woodland site but the vast majority of it is covered in what I think are rhododendron bushes that the marshals have cut paths though with chainsaws as they are impassable. All the bushes make it primarily CQB, although there are some open areas around the edge of the site. The games were typical stuff like capture the flag or move object to given location. There was a game where you had to hold the button on a bomb placed in the middle of an open area to arm it. I found that because the cover was foliage it meant people can hide in it which made for much more tense battles, sometimes you would find it took multiple people getting shot to figure out where someone was. Facilities wise the site is down a savagely potholed road which leads to a small car park. When we went they said they sometimes have 100 people which was surprising given the car park and safe zone were packed with just over 20 of us. Lunch is not provided so you need to bring your own, if it's changed to Sandpit style lunches I would still bring your own Overall I thought it was a good site, only downside was a good half of our team would barely move from our spawn or block lanes. It happens but teams should have really been reshuffled after a game or two. There was also some quite bad hit taking, I raised it with marshals but it didn't change.

  28. So its a gun thats suited to CQB but fires too hot for even woodland. Great idea Be a long time before I trust an ares, nice review though.

  29. It can if it is poorly engineered and made. You can use 2 thinner plies one at 90 deg and one at 45 deg and when cooked under pressure they fuse and it can double the strength compared to one single thicker ply. It will be more than durable enough, we make car doors which have passed crash tests and are on the roads now lol. I personally would not have a carbon gun unless I wanted it super lightweight and then I would paint it. But there are those who love it and would have one if engineered right. You did make me laugh with the saxo comment lol!

  31. Carbon fibre accessories always make me think of Saxo dashboards and Max Power. And then it makes me sad. Unless I'm remembering it wrong CF still has the ability to fail at any given moment from a slight knock in the wrong direction so I'm not entirely sure it'll be durable enough for an airsoft gun...

  33. Capture the flag game 2 guys pinning us down, 1 guy taken out the other behind hard cover. As I move forward firing short burst to keep his head down, I'm within steps of getting the flag, I take cover to change mags & look to my rear to find everyone just standing about 30 ft away doing f**k all & at that point I get hit, happened twice that day where I start to push forward with no back up grrrrr

  35. Me and a friend once did the same thing as you. A group of about a dozen of us crossing mostly open ground around the perimeter of site, ran into some bad guys. After standing out of range for a second, another friend led a heroic charge into the enemy whilst me and my mate Sat back and waited to watch them all get shot. After most of them were dead, we agreed that if the first mate (who somehow wasn't hit yet) could medic the other 9 friendly players and revive the assault, we would eat our guns. Once he got the first few guys back up we ran into the fray and reinforced him. We ended up medicing every player and pushing through the enemies to the building we were tasked with taking And I still haven't ate my gun

  36. Unfortunately the law couldn't be tailored to say "well mannered middle class under 18's only", so it doesn't matter how sensible the minority are, if the law was changed you'd have all sorts of estate dwelling hood-rats running around with RIF putting the shits up the general public. Although maybe they'd all buy molle-belts too which might keep their trousers above knee height

  37. Making a petition like this a day after a 16yo and two 17yo's were arrested by armed police officers and released on bail pending inquiries when they got a RIF out in public in Hanley, Stoke-on-trent is a massively dumb move.

Just because people aren't "moving their mouth" doesn't mean you can continue to bloody use your hands and point, using flash lights, nodding/shaking their head or start doing the god damn YMCA!
