  1. Sad to hear you’re not getting on with the MWS experience. As an ex PTW fanboy myself, I’m finding the overall reliability of the MWS platform very refreshing. I enjoy maintaining and tinkering with the gun, and it’s never let me down in a game, which I found was a major issue with my PTW’s, which I ran for about 10 years. I got sick of having to send them off to mysterious gurus for months at a time, to have various weak design flaws rectified at hundreds of pounds of cost. Worn sector gears, faulty motors, chopped bb’s, misfeeding magazines, catastrophic failure in very wet conditions, and a general lack of feedback from firing the PTW are all things that are thankfully long behind me know. They just got in the way of me enjoying skirmishes in the end. With a light bit of fettling, and good maintenance I’m glad to say neither my MWS or MP7 have ever failed to fire, and shoot accurately absolutely miles. Yes the mags are real capacity and realistically heavy, but I’ve completely got used to that, and I’m getting as many kills as I usually got, just with much more satisfaction of having bettered my hi-cap hose, sewing machine wielding opponents.

So I picked both these up from these forums and because I got them at a decent price it left some cash over to do a bit more upgrading. The NGRS M4 came with a prommy inner barrel and purple hop rubber. I was going to S hop it but i'll run the prommy stuff for a game or 2 before doing that. I fitted a titan and new pistol grip as the A2 style grip really gets on my goat. The M4 also came with the Knights rail in the box (it was a socom so comes with the plastic handguards). There is a small air leak between the cylinder head and nozzle and a new nozzle still has a slight air leak so I've ordered a new cylinder head and a O ringed nozzle to get rid of that problem (not really a problem as it's only a FPS variation of about 10 at the worst but enough to annoy me). The NGRS G36K I added the Jefftron V3 (first time trying one of these and seems to be a straight forward swap). I'll probably S hop this as well but right now it came with a Prommy flat hop rubber and flat nub and seems to shoot fine so I'll do the S hop at the same time as the M4. I actually prefer the Jefftron app over the Gate Titan App but that might just be because I connect the Titans via USB whereas the Jefftron is all bluetooth.

  3. Hello all, got into airsoft before Covid and love it, been to 6 full day games already and got myself a decent rifle G&G TR4-18 and a Marui blowback pistol, played in CombatSouth and then Badlands a couple times and looking to explore new sites in the Portsmouth area. Any tips for places, gear, very welcomed

Sounds like you’ve had good luck with that. I don’t know if I was doing something wrong, but I ended up not trusting my PTW. Dropping it in a lake in Sweden or crawling around in torrential rain at Copehill may not have helped either. I’m over the moon to be rid of finicky, over complex electronic toy guns. I think it was my 15 or so mags all slowly developing feeding faults that put the final nail in its coffin. I understand how to take these and AEG’s a part to fix, I just resent doing it and find it no fun. I really like the look of the new Infinity, but I suspect I’d get bored pretty quickly.

  8. Had a great day at Warminster Airsoft today. Blue won the morning game with one bridge out of three to Red's none but some good teamwork by Red after lunch got the the bomb in place for a convincing win. First time out with my new SRS and got plenty of good hits with it. Loved the short length and balance of the SRS, very easy to move around with it slung on my back. Ran my P90 as a sidearm and enjoyed using both all day. Good hit taking on both sides from what I saw. Suffered from bad fogging in the first game of the day but managed to sort it and goggles stayed clear after that. I'll definitely go with the SRS/P90 combo again, just need to make sure the P90's weapon clip doesn't fall off again. Good day out, many thanks to all at Warminster today. Good pic of the P90 sidearm.? New hat causing fogging issues. Hat change sorted the fogging problems followed by a successful first day with the SRS.?

@Rogerborg No matey, this attempt was with lots of Shoe Goo & being clamped up for a couple of days to cure and seems solid enough admittedly I’m not planning on trying to rip them apart for now but I have some Gorilla two part epoxy resin and some JB Weld steel stick ready but I was using the cheapest/already opened first.

    What have you made?

@ShamalThe Goggles have had some heavy tweakage to fit around my glasses but my glasses still did the fog thing so I attached a couple of 25mm brushless fans in the corner it’s wired up to a small battery box which I used to tape to the strap but now will Velcro since I have got some for another project and a rechargeable 9v battery from my bass, and when my glasses started to fog at any point I would flick the switch it worked a treat a very very low fan sound - so faint someone stood next to me thought they had a gas leak This was before lock down since I have added the mesh, the goggles came with 3 colour of lens but since these are for indoor I went with the clear. The mesh mask is just a cheap one I got off Amazon with some heavy application of gooooo and it seems sturdy enough - I’ll give it a whirl if the Z-Mart meet up happens in July. Probably cost me £40 in total, but as I had some of the materials anyways it would be closer to £50 from scratch version 2 will be just the cost of goggles.

Carried out some changes to my 10.3" URGI-1 over the last few weeks. Some because I simply fancied a change but others because I have taken some things I like from my MRE build and wanted to transfer them onto this much modern rifle. I was going to swap out the front end entirely and build up an 11.5" barrel complete with a Geissele MK4 rail. But I just love the compactness of the 10.3" and I know its a very common rail in the safe zone, but the URGI is just fantastic and it would take something pretty special to beat it IMO, in terms of its slim profile and ergonomics. So the 4 prong SF Flash Hider has gone in favour for a SF closed-tine. Think of it like a modern day bird cage flash hider. (Both made by Angry Gun) The Magpul hand stop has been replaced with a TrueNorth Concepts Handstop-K a much smaller profile and takes advantage of the slim design of the urgi rail. Having really missed the ambi fire selector fitted to my MRE I wanted the same on the urgi albeit a little more modern. So enter the PTS Radian Talon ambi selector, which is very well made and offers solid/precise manipulation. I was so impressed with the PTS fire selector I coupled it with their licensed version of the Radian Raptor-LT charging handle. I love the vertical shooting position of the Magpul MOE K2 Pistol Grip, but prefer the rubber grip that the Hogue offers on my MRE. Luckily Magpul make the 'K2+' which is an overmolded grip with rubber, giving me the best of both worlds. I've now fitted a Angry Gun Milspec buffer tube as it has worked flawlessly on my MRE and takes out any slop with genuine stocks. This has been followed with a SixG HSB to improve single shot performance, I've tested it and it works very well indeed. Looking forward to testing it further in game! Lastly as much as I'm a fan of the small form factor of the Magpul MOE SL-K, I just miss shouldering a rifle with a CTR fitted. Let's be honest that stock suits any build even if its been around for a while now! A Magpul enhanced magazine release, and Magpul ODG magazine pulls are also on route... Thanks for reading my update, another post from a geardo/geek!

  20. Got this for my son who is into WW2 gear. It's the AGM one which I picked up for £130. It seems pretty solid and shoots around 320fps with 0.2 bbs. Have it next to my Mp5 for a size comparison.
