Hilarious DMR for hilarious games. Far from its final form, I'm still missing a TTI trigger (red), TTI charging handle with external fire selector (red), Hadron "bouncer" short stroke kit and a CowCow G18 hammer set. And maybe a Stalker TDC because the Mamba's window is narrower than the stock one, which makes adjusting the hop a bit of a pain. As of now the only internal modification I've done is a 60° Maple Leaf Decepticon rubber and I-Key. Performance wise it's stupid, 60m range on 0.3s at just about 1J of energy, great consistency (say 5" groupings) and despite the optic being 1kg alone, it's still super lightweight. (also one of the screws on the grip is missing, it actually stripped itself to all fuck for no reason)

  3. I love the hicap heroes who burn through thousands of BBs per game. Their shooting provides a wonderful soundscreen for me to move about. Nobody's going to notice the light rustle of foliage or the gentle crunch of a slow footstep when John Rambo over yonder is spamming his AEG at everything.

  4. ... add in "and my son loves it too" and those are my three reasons for getting into it. My eyesight is not 100%, I'm overweight, I'm not rich, but if I have some fun then I've "won".

  5. Booooo, spoil sport. I for one had been thoroughly enjoying being drip fed the entire DCA catalogue without ever having to visit the website (and such, never see those prices).

  6. I think it's up to the refs to stop people from being assholes, by making them sit one game out to straight up bans. I also understand the economic aspect of running an airsoft site and that each player brings money to pay the rent. But from what I've gathered from my years on this forum, it looks like most sites go with the easy route of limiting ammo/fire modes instead of addressing the root cause (assholes). I am sure that a site owner who applies a non bullshit policy and actually kicks/bans idiots would get way more customers at his events.

  7. Yup, although for me they are taking the skill element out of the equation. Back then, we used to overcome the opponent with skills, whether it was about camouflage, or picking the right moment to fire or going for a giga flanking manoeuvre. Now though, with all the "pay to win" plug and play r-hopped barrels, people are more inclined to sit behind the same tree for 20 minutes plinking at each other from hyperbolic distances, effectively making games more static.

  8. True, that, and half the time they're doing it from so far back that they're thrashing the bushes 5 or 10 metres short of where they think they're hitting. However, the other half of the time they're doing it against advancing players who run into a hail of BBs the instant we leave hard cover. It's all part of the game, and I'm certainly not advocating semi auto for woodland. However, I do very much appreciate it when folk keep it to short, controlled bursts. When I was running a stock CYMA shooting 8 rps in a sort of generally downrange direction, I'd cheerfully hold the trigger down. Now that I've got some half decent toys, I'm much lighter on the trigger. Just because you can doesn't mean that you have to.

  9. Printers are great. You can print all the accessories that are too expensive, discontinued or don't exist. I'm at the point of designing full kits and guns. It really changes how you look at airsoft guns. They become the potential for something more, instead of looking at a gun and thinking that looks cool you look at it and think, what could this become? Hence why I'm picking up a tac-41 at some point to make a MSR kit for it so that I can own the only usable Airsoft MSR

  11. i can see where you're coming from, for the most part that's how i've done things. never cared much about the winning side of it, indeed it's a rare occasion i even know wether or not the team i'm on has actually won whatever the objective is. however after all the care an attention you put into getting into a decent spot and getting a good shot off it's terribly disheartening for it to have been wasted by a failure of the target to follow simple rules. ha, you caught me before i even typed it. i guess for me at least it's just depressing how incapable people are of following even the simplest of instructions. needless to say my annoyance at [insert annoying airsoft thing] is exponentially proportional to how long they've been playing (and by extension should know better). wish i had your luck, in the decade or so i've been at this i can only remember one game that didn't feature a single instance of any of the usual suspects (irony being the only non-hpa gun there was a gbbr, take that stereotypes), hell some places i've played at you'd call it a good day if more than half of the players were playing decently.

  12. While aware it is in no way something that can/will/should apply to everyone I found the best fix for the usual suspects of frustration was to ‘fix myself instead’. Not as drastic as it may sound, I simply changed the primary reasons I show up. Those being: A more fun way of getting some cardio in. A chance to meet up with pals. To get out of the house and do something just for me. And coming off a game, more fuel for messing about rearranging my load bearing kit because I thoroughly enjoy ‘chasing perfection’. The actual ‘me shooty, me get ‘kills’, grenade go bang’ side of the hobby is pretty much secondary to me at this point. As long as I can tick off a couple of the above, cardio and getting out of the house being all but guaranteed, I leave a day of pewing happy. Now, folks can absolutely be stubborn with the ‘but I shouldn’t have to’ speech… which is an entirely fine viewpoint. But it isn’t going to increase your chances of enjoying more games than you don’t any time soon. P.S. FWIW I think the prevalence of ‘BB hose, hot gnu and non-hit takers’ are entirely exaggerated in a lot of cases to try justify why folks just didn’t enjoy a day out. I might just be fortunate with the many game days I’ve attended over the years, but I definitely hear about those 3 candidates on the internet more than I’ve ever experience them.

  14. a fair point, and indeed it is all too common. not sure if a site that would wield the banhammer regularly (or in many cases at all) would necessarily get more customers, but they sure would get the same customers coming back. see herein lies the problem, there are elements of this hobby that are indeed unfixable, and the longer i've been playing the more and more it's putting me off because "oh someone's got godmode again" or "yep, someone's running spicy again" or "someone's hosing everything in sight again", nothing out of the ordinary, all the same stuff that annoys us all and happens all the time, which is kinda the point. and while i'd like to explore potential options to fix these issues, it's ultimately me being in denial that the only real solution is to just not play the game, which sucks because a good day with a good crowd this hobby is amazing fun. yeah i wasn't objecting to it being a general statement, i was mourning the truth of it being a general statement.

  15. I used 2 EPM1's this weekend and they worked really well in the M904. I also use m4 flash mags when I want to go hicaps and these work well without any feeding issues

  16. I hate arp 9 and drum mags If you find that abrasive/abusive/confrontational I pity your fragile constitution, I take pleasure in diversity and am fully aware I like rifs that induce vomiting in others but I don’t suddenly not like them because someone on a forum questions my tastes By the way I hate arp 9 and drum mags( in case I’ve been too subtle)

  17. a statement that can apply far too generally. problem is, how to keep the majority happy and have their game (mostly) unspoiled by those who's idea's of what's acceptable lie very much at the extreme? for example lets say my idea of an acceptable amount of full auto was half a magazine per trigger pull at 50 rounds per second, i'm certainly having fun but i suspect there are very few people who would be happy to be on the recieving end of that.

  18. It's almost as if it's entirely subjective based on the element of the surprisingly diverse yet extremely niche hobby you enjoy most eh? Everytime this conversation comes up in a nutshell:

  19. it's a hard question, ultimately there's always gonna be the hicap heroes who will cut down every tree they see that twitches wrongly, there are people who will lost their shit if they recieve more than a single hit, and the rest of the pack who are somewhere in between. one of those problems that wouldn't exist if people weren't assholes.

  20. £168 shipped from Creality's UK Warehouse, not much more than an entry-level Airsoft Blaster. Funnily enough I saw this video the other day and thought of you:

Using a spare fire selector you can modify it to be semi auto only. You can also modify the stock floating valve and make you own npas, covered 20ish pages back i think. You can adjsut power with all available gasses on a standard MWS from sub 300 to 360

  23. The plan was reasonable in principle; the defenders could only respawn when they had a group of 5 waiting at the spawn. However, the spawn was too close to the objective (and not properly enforced), and the defenders figured out that they could just call themselves out when they had 3 or 4 waiting, run (half way) to the spawn, and get the whole group back in. Meanwhile, the attackers just bogged down and concentrated on shooting rather than pushing. I dropped the DMR and went in with the MP5K but got hosed down every time. No big deal, not everything works, but it's not the first time they've run this, and the problems with it are fairly obvious. It needs solid marshalling to stop the insta-spawns, but by that time the marshals were more interested in playing with a drone rather than sorting it out. It wouldn't be airsoft without something to complain about.

  25. Today I learned that: 1) When making an s-hop, the silicone cannot extrude into the barrel even fractionally, or you'll sky every BB even with no hop on, or no hop arm fitted at all. 2) DMR naysays can say nay all they like, but I like DMR gameplay - with a working hop. Luckily I had spares to hand and sorted it at lunch, then it was all fun and games from there.

I just have to share what I managed to do today. I got a trade for my old ics m4 aeg with gate titan with a spare upper and 3 uppergearboxes(ics got split gearboxes like ptws cylinders). For a brand new mws with 5mags, original bolt, a lightweight bolt, a spare crazy jet 370mm barrel and a kwa 1911 with 2 co2 maggs :). Prolly my best trade ever :).

People presenting second hand information with a definitive result just grind my gears. The fella initially asking followed up with 'Will this happen?' and the chap answering literally ignored the question and just said toss it. No reason, no further explanation, no break down of the parts being used alongside the spacer. Nope, the answer to the question will this happen to me wassss... toss it. Superb, I don't know who's more daft of the pair. The one asking the questions and taking the first answer he got at face value, or the clown spouting second hand garbage (the answer is both).

this is what baffled me... And the explanation from SixG: Peoples buffer tube end caps fall out from time to time, this happens on stock guns, it vibrates itself undone, as with most things on GBBs loctite blue (243) is your friend. This is not because of the HSB. The prime purpose of the HSB is to stop the buffer parts being hammered so hard, causing the above and shattered buffer 'part-B'. I have never known a buffer spring to be broken because of the HSB, i cannot see any reason why this would be so, i actually think they may be getting confused because the image of a buffer spring posted is completely normal - AKA one end is supposed to have tighter wound coils (this end seats onto the buffer itself) They are also misinformed as the HSB still allows the buffer to bottom out, he difference is that the spring rate is increased so that it doesnt hit as hard, and when it does contact it touches down onto the rubber bumper not sharp/cast stock tube end cap. With regard to bolt lock on empty functionality, depending on the power of gas you are using you may or may not need to unscrew the buffer tube 1 turn. So sorry if I raised some eyebrows, just wanted to make sure that HSB shouldnt do damage to MWS

My long awaited (I say long, it literally arrived in 3 business days- posted Wednesday, arrived Monday) new trigger box. My stock trigger developed issues and I was always unhappy with how it felt. First impressions were wow, the construction is SO much cleaner than the stock trigger box. I guess that's what you get with CNC'ing! I dropped the trigger box straight into my MTR16. I needed to very gently mallet the safety to get it seated since it seemed to be ever so slightly misaligned with the right hand side of the lower when being reinserted. I made a very, very short video showing how it performs vs. my stock trigger. All in all, I'm extremely happy with it! I expect the trigger to work even better in a few weeks once it's properly broken in. I will likely take it apart at some point to clean it out and apply a little lube, but it seems to work great ootb.

  32. Zero mods for the Magpul front end...drops straight on! Guess the Cyma must be 1:1 size on that at least! Front sight mod below - 1mm x 6mm tritium vial from a fishing shop online. Simply clean the front post with alcohol wipe then very carefully super glue the vial on ?

Right my order has come through so i'm going to document it so nobody else makes the mistake of ordering from these crooks. I placed my order on the 21st of Febuary and it wasnt shipped until 17th March with no communications. a few days later a single loading nozzle arrived. The rest of the order finally arrived on the 14th of June, I finally opened the package and that is when alarm bells immediately began to ring as I was confronted with the following: Upon opening i found the follwing missing from my order: 1x xm26 shotgun 1x pack of shims and the other xm26 was missing its included shells. This was just half the issue though I also ordered a JG G3 SAS but received the following: This is defnitely not a JG its a clamshellbody held together with screws and a v3 gearbox, after some research by my tech it turns out to be a god aweful L&H. I also ordered a WA loading nozzle and was sent the wrong one it was not WA compatible and was already opened alsongside that I ordered a 5KU WA outer barrel but was sent the following: The barrel is clearly secondhand and has already been fitted and used and is not of 5KU quality. As such I opened a case on Paypal reporting these issues and immediately received the following from them: Unless I had the dying need to have half an order sent almost a month after payment needless to say i would never shop with them again anyway but honestly I was gobsmacked by this response. After paying the steep cost of return postage I have now been told that they will not be refunding my postage costs. This is the second order theyve completely screwed up for me, please learn from my mistakes and never place an order with this utter disgrace of a company.
