    THE TM MWS thread

I don't even have an mws, but scrolling through the forum on my phone it previews part of the last reply, the text above was what I saw?, needless to say I had to click on it to get some context, otherwise I'd have probably had bad dreams tonight lol

Ouch! Never use a hammer and screwdriver on your ring! I'm sure your doctor could have prescribed something less invasive. ?? Regards

Phaha well I popped to my dad's to see if he could sort my ring out, we used a log tube that failed, so then we tried hot air and a wood mallet, soon got it shifted, then deeper in its another ring so hot air and a home made prong tool sorted it in the end,no need for Dr's

  8. Now have one. Only used it once so far, so limited information Pro’s Excellent build quality Slide well finished, not sure what the finish is, but it’s not a paint. Con’s Trigger is very heavy, haven’t got a gauge but would guess about 7+ lbs Mag is slow to load, speed loader is supplied and needed. If you try to squeeze the trigger very slowly you can hear a small gas release, don’t think this a fault though, just down to the no hammer design. Definitely a collectors piece and not suitable for the skirmish field.

  9. Like you I use custom molded when I'm riding, and before that I used foams, I've always preferred helmets with lots of venting and the wind noise is killer long term. I do love the bang and booming of pyro and I'm surprised how many people I see playing that don't use hearing protection, I treat mine like eye pro. Once it's gone, it's gone kind of thinking. On the peltor front though I certain recommend the gel cups, they are so much better than the foam.

  10. Genuine AK. Note the weathering is "polished" I see too many guns scrubbed with coarse sandpaper, often in places where they wouldn't wear.

Yeah, PB are good at sorting problems in my experience. I've had a couple of occasions when a rif had to be returned due to damage and recently an error in the sale information that it was metal but turned out to be plastic. The first time (a couple of years ago) they arranged courier pickup from my house but more recently they sent a code for the courier return and I had to arrange it myself then took it to a drop-off point.

  12. That's what's stopping me from ordering right now. I don't have much luck with in-ears, either for audio or hearing protection, and ended up silicone-moulding custom earplugs for biking. It's amazing how many bikers don't even consider hearing protection. It's a very slow, steady damage from wind noise (and open cans) rather than from one big obvious bang, so it's easier to ignore. I should actually just use my moulded plugs for airsoft, it's not like anyone says anything worth hearing anyway. Oh, and Mk9s and 12 gauge magflash blanks can sod right off, there is absolutely no need for that level of noise. As with 40-Mikes and "no full auto in buildings bro" wanker guns, they're a lot more fun for those sending them out than those experiencing them coming in.

  13. NUPROL!!! A make that is regarded by many as a swear word here. Probably needs a full charge. If it's LiPo I'd expect a healthy RoF. How slow is "slow"? How many RPS do you estimate you're currently getting? PB recommend a 7.4V unit so you should be OK.

  14. Cheers. Matches my loadout, which is entirely OD with the exception of black gloves and boots. Blends in well with the evergreen woodland at the site I play at. All done with a couple of tins of Halfords Camo spray paint. Two coats and a couple of hours drying time in the summer. Job done. P.s. loving the XM177. Very nice ?

  18. In my experience PB are excellent, if there's been some form of SNAFU they'll put it right. You should be good ? If they don't have it in stock they'll probably refund you.

  19. Its my first (and only) TM pistol (so far) but the performance even on 144a is great. Couldn't believe the range I had with 0.28gs. It would struggle up here with a metal slide when the temp drops.

  20. If your thinking about hearing protection then do it, either in or over ear. I've tried the in ear units and they work though fit is tricky, for me i couldnt get it to hold and seal easily, and wasn't as good as it could be when it did sit so it would work loose then eventually fall out. In the end I when with the over the head, peltor sporttac, and i also got two aux cables, one mono, lives hooked into my rpc and mic. And the other I use for work plugged into my phone for audio books and they are great.

  21. I've never done concerts, I did a little bit of black powder reenactment years ago without damage, and I generally wear earplugs when biking other than for sub 40mph local shopping runs. Since this is recent, the most likely candidate I can think of is airsoft pyro. I'm just glad that ring tones can now be music or jingles (I use Star Trek computer clips) rather than "dring driiiing".

  22. The idea is to weather it and keep it working ?
    1 point
  23. Easy. Take your gnu, skirm loads and do t treat it lightly... chuck it about, clatter it off stuff, chuck it in the mud... hey presto, one genuinely weathered gnu...

  24. If I’m ‘weathering’ a plastic gun I use a flat silver and black paint pen , almost immediately after applying the paint I wipe off with kitchen paper and then take the rest that I want off with very fine grit wet’n’dry and wire wool . I also use this pic if I’m weathering an AK as a resource but it’s useful what ever long arm your aging .?

  25. Joking aside though, why? Just why Coral? Sure, I bought a two toned plastic CYMA M4 off the buzz from my first day, but it cost £75, it was painted over, and the paint was off before my second day. Even if you just want it as a wall hangar, even if you can't persuade someone to sell you a RIF (more on that in a moment), why wouldn't you factor in getting it repainted. It's not even gangster to do so, because it's not an imitation of an actual make or model of modern firearm (whether existing or discontinued), so there's no VCRA offence committed by either sale or modification. I look at that horror and all I can think is "My God, someone please save it." Wait, was it... was it bought to troll people? Because if so, mission accomplished.

  26. note the lesson kids- us in the airsoft community get that 2-toning is a necessary evil to allow us to keep pewing, so when you turn up nobody is going to judge you if your g&g raider is bright blue, trust us it's not as bad as what some folks voluntarily do to their guns. unless you 2-tone something nice, then we're gonna judge you to be the heretic that you are.

  31. With all the shit been going on in my life past 8mths I’ve definitely developed a “fuck it , if it makes you happy do it !” Attitude(I used to be quite take my time lets see how things go , but after loosing my oldest friend and having a bit of a near call my self I’ve realized you can’t count on tomorrow even happening let alone plans coming to fruition) SO t’other night whilst wandering aimlessly through Tinter’Web I came across a Cyma mosfet edition XM177 on Bullseye , now always had a bit of a crush on that particular AR so I bought it , and when I got in this afternoon it was sat there waiting for me ! ? Oh so much a happy chappy ! ?

  32. My tinnitus is down to industrial noise from years of working in factories, massive car stereos, playing guitar in bands gigging in pubs so small that 100w Marshall rig was literally feet away and going to very loud, very metal gigs for years. It's constant but gets worse when I'm stressed or tired. I don't have to listen for it, I hear it all the time. I had a hearing test recently and there's a massive dip around 4kHz which is pretty typical for industrial noise damage apparently.

  33. I have the dreaded tinnitus too, usually quite mild, sometimes bloody awful. I played a game a couple of years ago where we used Mk9s. One was thrown straight at me and landed about three feet away. I was entangled in some shrubbery being sneaky and pretty hobbled. I put my hands over my ears and opened my mouth but the mesh over said lugs stopped my hands from doing much. As I decided to pick the thing up and throw it, it went off. It was not pleasant for many hours... At another game, my inner ear bud for my radio was hit. It doubled me up in agony. The effect of a BB on hollow plastic was like the sound of the world ending. The pain inside my head was tremendous. My tinnitus played up for days. I got some over ear active cans after that. They are a not perfect as the radio makes them buzz, but I prefer them to plugs. Also, in ear plugs do not save your ears from the pressure of loud noise that passes through the skull. Like you, it's bikes what did it. Straight thru shotguns and open face lid at leisure, despatch rider at work in the same shitty design lid for 50+ hours a week. None of this has stopped me de-baffling my current bikes. The sound of a big twin is still music to the ears.
