New shooters belt from C2R. This is one solid belt! Yes they're expensive and probably OTT for airsoft (that's not a thing though, right?) but I'm massively impressed with it. Impeccable quality, great design and very low profile. Service was fast too. The inclusion of a sticker and card holder in MC Black was a nice touch.5 points

Have to sort of agree and disagree on this , do agree the stupid ‘flappy’ hair triggers can be a pain in the butt at semi only games but I equally find that you have a similar problem when you have sites saying “short bursts” only . Example few yrs ago went to strike force CQB in Gloucester , first visit the rule was semi only and I thoroughly enjoyed it , yes you did have a few of the hair trigger brigade sticking 3,4 or even 5 shots in to you in the time you got 1 or possibly 2 shots off , but not a problem , BUT next time I went a couple of mths later rules had changed , apparently some of the players with bog standard AEG’s where complaining the HPA and high cycle boys had an unfair advantage(Don’t see this but who am I to say ?) SO they then allowing ‘short’ bursts to ‘even’ the gameplay ?????? which ment yes if you had a ‘normal’ AEG you’d get 3,4,5 shots off but the others where now getting 10,11,12 shots off in the same space of time ! now I don’t care how big and ‘ard’ you think you are or how much you crow on about “if you can’t take getting hit don’t play !” a 10+rd burst in CQB F…ing hurts and will piss you off if it happens continuously through out the day .3 points -

To be fair to myself, in the 10 years I’ve played I’ve only once needed a spare gun.. and that was my own fault for taking one which I knew had a habit of not working! Believe me, I’ve got more than enough kit including a grab bag like the one you’ve mentioned which lives in my car. I’m optimistic that nothing will go wrong with the rifle, and if it does then I’ve only myself to blame ? they’ll have rentals anyway!2 points -

Same here, all packed tonight for first game of 22. Running light; M4, couple of hicaps, no secondary or rig/armour/tat etc. Forecast looks reasonable, 5C, lightish winds, no precip. Happy days.2 points -

Runs fine in mine and, apart from a SixG brass nub, it's completely stock internally. Be worth getting familiar with Impulse101 for original TM parts and investing in some of the known perishables; nozzle, nozzle return springs, mag lips, that sort of thing. Wouldn't worry about anything though really. Fire Support are great for spares too.2 points

Acceptable rates of fire
John_W and one other reacted to Jedi_Master for a topic
I think that the issue often encountered at a site is not necessarily the high rate of fire (yes, you HPA spammer) but the general poor attitude of overshooting. BBs are cheap so why shoot a few aimed shots when you can spam dozens of BBs down range, spray and pray fashion. There are definitely players who can see their BB strike the target but still keep shooting regardless, and they could be on a stag do, a site regular, a multi-glammer, chav, or experienced player who should know better. If you put enough plastic on someone they will eventually call the hit. Mainly playing CQB, high rate of fire is more noticeable due to the close proximity and limited distance between players. I prefer to just use heavy BBs and shoot less of them.2 points -
Just buy what's technically known as, a shit-ton of gas. It'll get used.2 points

Sensible to wait. And three extra mags? Do I smell a Fire Support deal? That's where I got mine from...with the three extra mags. And don't worry about getting the front sight off. They come off just fine. I'd always advise a two-point sling as they're more versatile. Much easier to sling your weapon on your back or get it tight to your body. They also won't nail you in the nuts if you drop your rifle to go to your pistol! That's just my opinion though and it depend on your playing style. Something like the Magpul MS3 sling can switch from a two point to a one point, so that may be an option?1 point

I very nearly went for the MK18 myself, but after chatting to a few folk in this thread, went for the CQB-R instead, purely for the nause that handguard looks to remove. Have you ordered the barrel nut tool? I've got a G&P MK18 rail, which looks class, and a Geissele MK16 rail from HAO, which is on at the moment. The third party support for the MWS is huge, which is great as you don't need to be a slave to one look...just your bank balance. Hit up @Davegolffor the brass nub, but the MWS is great as is, so don't worry if you have to wait a while for one. Just make sure you use decent ammo, get some spare mags if you can, and if you haven't got one already, a TM XL speed-loader is recommended as mags can be a bitch to load at first. Oh, and don't skimp on a sling. Ferro Slingster, Blue Force Gear VCAS, Magpul and the like are where you want to be, not 8 Fields or Viper!1 point

Already here. Advantage of the SMLE is that the Aussie and Ishapore factories only ever made SMLEs, and they remained on issue in WWII, so you can do either 14-19 or 39-45.1 point -

So your taking a pc but no backup, that's arse about face mate, if you've got one you always take a spare gat, nothing spoils a gameday than no gun lol. Decent clothing to cope with whatever the weather throws at you is the next essential. As for load carrying equipment, invest in a manbag/grab bag, ideally small one with 3 mag pouches on exterior & room inside for a nalgene bottle (h2o or weak squash), & sugary snack of your choice, you'll find that kinda setup so liberating, I've got a ton of rigs, but Tbh most of the gucciness is totally unnecessary (the gear queers just choked on their tea & biccies?).1 point -

Bulk buy if you can. More cost effective. Fire Support are decent on ASG UltraAir but they are smaller cans. Zero One Pro gas is around £40 for six 700ml cans and is basically Abbey Predator Ultra gas.1 point

Funnily enough, strikeforce is one of the sites I frequent more often, though not exactly local to me. I remember the 'burst' rule being implemented. Personally, I've had no negative experiences directly related to this, and the only time that I can recall any issues is when a marshal/player threw his toys out of the pram because someone burst fired him in the neck. Even had a rant about it to everyone at lunch. I was more amused by this than pissed off. Rather looking forward to going on Sunday. Maybe I'll get hosed in the face and will come back here with a completely different opinion.1 point -

LOL, my first ever game was at Electrowerkz, you'd think after that I'd have had the sense to walk away & find a hobby less painful hobby......... 21 years later I'm still here ? After Electrowerkz went did you try Janno's Lewisham site, equally small & exceptionally painful, took a burst up the inner thigh & across the nuts point blank there, had to take a moment to compose myself lol??1 point

I have never counted but have never used a full can in even the longest game day! I guess weighing a mag before and after filling / weighing a full and empty can of gas would allow you to work it out. As I get ~100 shots from one gas fill of 10-12s I simply charge at the start of the day then top off at lunch. Make sure you fill them with 1-2s blast then wait then another 1-2s, repeat until full.1 point

I agree it is a sickening result, due to the sites being all pussy now and demanding more and more single fire Back when we ran AEGs, carrying 6-9 Hicaps, 9.6v 3300a batteries and 20k of spare bbs in your backpack.. (Just incase.) It was never an issue Make full auto great again!1 point

I think musician Peter Gabriel is secretly an airsofter. The give away is a verse from Games without Frontiers "Andre has a red flag, Chiang Ching's is blue (usual armband colours) They all have hills to fly them on except for Lin Tai Yu (Lin didn't get any of the objectives) Dressing up in costumes, playing silly games Hiding out in tree-tops shouting out rude names" (Sounds like a typical Sunday skirmish)1 point -

I had this plan to put perforated fake plates in a Crye mairitime JPC to make the holy grail of PC that actually wouldn't be very hot/sweaty in summer, so I bought some hollow plastic medium SAPI dummies aaaaages ago and through sheer fuckin laziness I never got around to doing what I wanted with them until this week. Tried just using a knife and mk1 hand first but being about 4mm thick and 'sticky' when cutting I could tell I was going to lose a finger if I proceeded, so I swapped to a holesaw + electric drill. End result has the solid edges/outline needed to fill out any PC and looks exactly like a proper plate when inserted, but it weighs almost nothing and has just enough rigidity in the middle to support everything. I'm already working on a connect-4 meme never fear.1 point -
