Nah, had it about 12 Months completely stock, only recently I've gone a bit bananas accessorising it. Always puts a big grin on my face though. 2 of my friends have bought MWS's after trying mine lol

  2. Here's me looking a bit awkward, twice. - Russian 'Flecktarn-D' camo (Kula Tactical) - Heavily modified (by yours truly) Chicom & scrote pouch - Mich helmet with Pencott green zone cover (from my other loadout) - Bolle x800 (highly recommend) - Mechanix gloves - Cyma AK - Battle belt, with Dynatec BFG 9mm (timed) in a pouch, Russian water bottle pouch (out of shot), dump pouch (out of shot), Blackhawk silencer pouch (that I use for carrying spare mk5's, also out of shot), WE Makarov (silver...for stealth) in an original soviet closed leather holster (out of shot), general purpose pouch (for extra ammo, spare mags, etc. out of shot). All pouches are OD. The Russian gear purists will probably balk at this cobbled together bunch of stuff, but it works for me. My regular sites are woodland, as you can probably tell, but this was taken today at 'Invicta Battlefield Black Site' in Kent - a great new site; CQB, with great games, balanced rules, and brilliant marshalls.

  4. Another great day at Combat Airsoft in Thetford. No real issues with hit taking all day and most of our team were willing to get stuck in and play the games! Had some initial worry when the range of my rifle was nowhere near what I’d normally expect, but after moving to a section of the site with less wind and more trees I saw an almost dramatic increase back to the superb range that I’m used to. Me and the guys put some excellent flanking attacks on, only downside was I didn’t get to use my remote pyro as no good moments to. Seized up trying to get out the car, need to get started on my fitness again to reduce injuries ?

  8. Well, if you want one now, I guess that's the price you'll have to pay, take it or leave it. I'd be amazed if anyone takes it, but at least he can claim to his missus that he's technically put it up for sale. Let's just hope that she doesn't find out how much it really cost.

Definitely a 2 point, so versatile and easy to drive the gun. If you haven’t already the the Ronin Tactics vids are great. Ive always been a fan of ‘high ready’ and the 2 point makes it even better than when I used to run single point.

Sensible to wait. And three extra mags? Do I smell a Fire Support deal? That's where I got mine from...with the three extra mags. And don't worry about getting the front sight off. They come off just fine. I'd always advise a two-point sling as they're more versatile. Much easier to sling your weapon on your back or get it tight to your body. They also won't nail you in the nuts if you drop your rifle to go to your pistol! That's just my opinion though and it depend on your playing style. Something like the Magpul MS3 sling can switch from a two point to a one point, so that may be an option?

  13. Other than @Ebeneezer Goode popping in with a good old ‘keep it simple’ with PMR, most have gone straight in with the pros&cons of licenced systems Nobody has asked what @Halointends to do with a radio. Is it for general airsoft use, talking to anyone on the same side ? Is it for talking to only a team group? Is it within a reasonable range in the woods, indoors, an urban area? The best answer for general use is standard PMR, any model, by any manufacturer. Just UK compliant, on PMR frequencies and within the power range with a fixed aerial. The common answer is a fully programmable radio, usually Baofeng, supposed to be operated with a licence and programmed to PMR frequencies illegally operating over authorised power levels A good point is that most posters have pointed out the need for a licence if doing so. Ive used many, sometimes licenced, mostly standard PMR. The ‘best’ handset I have used which gave me great value for money with the ability to monitor comms across multiple ‘channels’ was a cheap and nasty Tesco PMR handset operating on the original 8 analogue PMR frequencies without the sub and did not ‘support’ the sub frequencies. But due to that lack of support I could set it to the basic home frequencies and listen to every sub frequency. eg I was tuned to 1.00 and could only transmit on 1.00, but I could hear 1.01, 1.02, etc Then with the aid of a fully featured PMR I could talk back to anyone Wheh running a game I would carry a minimum of 2, most likely 3 handsets 1) Tescos cheapie - monitoring 2) Full PMR - transmit/receive 3) PMR or licenced handset - event running Ive had a few handsets due over the years, the Tesco ones still worked the last time I tried, I assume they won’t manage to pickup my 16 channel digital PMRs - but Ive never tried

  14. Glad to see retailers taking the moral high ground and sticking to the letter of the law when it comes to selling RIF’s ? 1st scenario , father and son enter an Airsoft shop , child picks up a RIF . ”hello Airsoft retailer” says the father , “id like to buy this gun for my son” “certainly sir” says the Airsoft retailer , “if you could just give me your UKARA number ?” ” UKARA number what’s that ?” says the father , “I don’t think I have one of those” ”oh” says the Airsoft retailer “in that case sir I’m sorry but I can’t sell you that gun without a UKARA number” ”oh that’s a shame” says the father . 2nd scenario , father and son enter an Airsoft shop , child picks up a RIF and then brakes said RIF . ”oh dear Airsoft retailer” says the father , “my son appears to have broken one of your guns and I don’t have a UKARA number to buy a RIF !” “He’s done what !” says the Airsoft retailer in shock “and you don’t have a UKARA number that allows you to buy a RIF ? Not a problem sir , that’ll be £200 please !” sounds about right ? ??

  19. I've wired a mosfet in the grip of my JG V61 and wanted to run it with a lipo stored in a pouch by connecting it through a coiled cable. I bought a coiled shaver charging cable, wired it with deans and connected it to the 7.4V lipo battery and mosfet. The gun fires fine when the battery is connected directly to the mosfet but it doesn't fire when connected through the coiled cable. I checked the positive and negatives are soldered the right way. I can feel the coiled cable getting very hot and suspect the few wispy strands of wires are too thin to carry the 20-30 Amp rating of the battery. Trouble is that going by this I would need a 2.5mm core cable to carry 20-30 amps https://www.energy-solutions.co.uk/technical-information and I can't seem to find reasonably priced coiled cables that thick. I think the default cabling in most AEGs is 18AWG which is 0.75mm square and 16AWG is 1.5mm. What coiled cables is everyone else using that work?

    What have you made?

Wanted some wing pouches to add to my chest rig for a radio. Cut a spare triple mag sleeve in half, tidied it up and have ordered some iron-on velcro so it can attach to my rig. May need to stitch the velcro in if the adhesive isn't strong enough. Pretty cheap alternative to buying actual pouches; £6~ for the sleeve and £2~ for the velcro. Not exactly 'made', more cut in half and stuck to something else.

  22. Fancied one of these since they were released after thoroughly enjoying the SRS, been gradually building up bits for it for the last few months and finally found the time to throw it all together. Also got some new additions for the PC. Ferro Concepts Kangaroo Front Flap with a quad SMG turnover in it for running pistol mags when using the TAC (and eventually MP7 mags should I ever pull the trigger on picking one up) and a SORD TED which I love. Used it in my last game of last year, much prefer it to a rear belt mounted dump pouch.

  24. +1 on the Molotow, at least the black (which is the only one I've used). I've had some success with various other randoms found on the shelf at b&q, like Rustoleum. Their stove and BBQ black paint came up a lovely flat black and they had some sort of textured brown that gave a passable impression of rust for a post-apoc gun. Worth a look to see what's there if you're passing. Avoids the postage too.

  30. I had never even heard of a Cricut until a few minutes ago. Bloody hell! My stencil machine in the workshop cost £1200 about 30 years ago! Bloody great cast iron frame thing. Come to think of it, it may even have greased up and put away. That modern thing does look amazing.

I very nearly went for the MK18 myself, but after chatting to a few folk in this thread, went for the CQB-R instead, purely for the nause that handguard looks to remove. Have you ordered the barrel nut tool? I've got a G&P MK18 rail, which looks class, and a Geissele MK16 rail from HAO, which is on at the moment. The third party support for the MWS is huge, which is great as you don't need to be a slave to one look...just your bank balance. Hit up @Davegolffor the brass nub, but the MWS is great as is, so don't worry if you have to wait a while for one. Just make sure you use decent ammo, get some spare mags if you can, and if you haven't got one already, a TM XL speed-loader is recommended as mags can be a bitch to load at first. Oh, and don't skimp on a sling. Ferro Slingster, Blue Force Gear VCAS, Magpul and the like are where you want to be, not 8 Fields or Viper!

  38. Absolutely can't fault it. I recently sprung for a bunch of fresh gear, amongst which is a Raptor Odin MkIV belt. Don't regret a single penny. Definitely not OTT for airsoft, its a hobby you clearly love, so if you can afford it, go for it.

I'm not sure to what that refers. I do like the parts of their "waiver" that spell out the expectations on the player, that's useful. What makes me chuckle is the bluff that you can waive your statutory right to sue a business over death or injury resulting from their negligence, which is explicitly voided by UCTA 1977 S2 (and equivalent Scotch legislation). It's bad faith to even try and wiggle out of it. [Shakes fist, yells at cloud]

  46. Has been a funny few days. Started off doing the airseal which for some reason dropped the fps by 5 or so but was more consistent. (Could be due to friction of the oring) I noticed that the CM048m Nozzle length is the shorter nozzle instead of the longer one. The longer one worked perfectly fine but I think having the intended length is probably best so I swapped to the shorter one. I also then started upgrading springs as the one in the gearbox from stock (I take it whoever supplied PB with the cyma aks puts these terrible springs in to get under 350fps). I was recommended a m105 by ak2m4 and to our surprise it was shooting at 400fps. I also bought a ZCI M100 at the same time to drop in if the 105 was too high and that is still a bit hot at 370. I'm thinking I should now get a m95 or m90 and go from there. Once I got it where I like it I will do a bit of a in depth guide for the gun as a whole on recommended parts and etc.

  49. Actually there are a few EU websites that imposed that minimum order value both gunfire and Taiwan gun( before they just stopped shipping to UK completely) just of the top of my head. The amount is not completely arbitrary I just can't say off the top of my head why it's that amount and can't be bothered looking it up. Thank you for your well informed and helpful contribution to this thread.
