  2. He sold stolen high value military kit very true BUT he wasn’t the one stealing it was he ? having served I can quite happily say the military are absolutely atrocious at securing kit and 90% of squaddies are thieving barstuards given half a chance when it comes to other peoples unattended kit and would happily sell the gold fillings from your teeth if they saw the opportunity !? He was the middle man(no excuse for what he did) but he served his time chapter closed . immaterial of whether the UCAP ‘rules’ are good or bad they’ve ALWAYS given a reason why and stuck by them , not many sites do that . with BFG’s it’s just you don't chuck it in a room and then immediately go straight in shouting your coming to get your ‘nade back !(think it’s safe to say we’ve all seen this happen?‍♂️) you just have to wait a couple of minutes till the gameplay has moved on from that point before you retrieve it .

  3. The fact that it's been customised means that you can't reject it for no reason, but being non-functional is a pretty good reason. Since they've already attempted and failed at one effort to repair, you have two rights under Consumer Rights Act 2015 section 24. 1) The right to an "appropriate" price reduction, i.e. the price of a new magazine, or them sending you one - it sounds like that's all that's wrong, unless gluing the stock plate on has affected the functionality. 2) A final right to reject, in which case they must refund the full amount that you paid, without reduction since it's within 6 months, and they must cover the costs of returning the goods to them. They don't publish an email address, but you can screenshot the contact form, or text them to get a written record. Mention the failed attempt to repair, and be clear what remedy you want. Don't mention that it's been two toned, or get in a debate over it, that's not relevant. When they tell you to do one, or ignore you, instruct your payment processor (credit / debit card or PayPal) to start a chargeback. Don't tell them that story above, or give any more than the bare minimum of information, they won't care. I wouldn't even say "airsoft gun" in case they get into a flap. Call it an item, or equipment, which it is. Just "ordered it, didn't work, was repaired but still doesn't work, seller won't refund, chargeback please and thank you". Best of luck.

    Tell Us a Gag. Please!

I ordered my favourite dish last night at the local fish restaurant, grilled fish in a herb sauce. But when it came I thought it tasted a bit funny... I thought about sending it back, but I wasn't sure if it was the thyme or the plaice! ? ?

  5. I am not a fan of the owner, but there's a few things I consider. He did serve his time, agree with the sentence or not the whole point of our justice system is that people get punished for doing naughty things and then should rehabilitate. There's an awful lot of stolen mod kit about, most is very low level(pairs of glasses etc), he just went to the extremes and got punished for it. I understand that they went after his finances as well via the tax man. With his diagnosis, it doesn't excuse what he did etc. but considering how awful it is, I don't think he needs a rougher time of it so I'll avoid any personal comments. I actually really appreciate their stance on subjects like 2 tones, binary triggers and pistols with high cap m4 mags. They championed the opinion against 2 tones to their financial detriment. They make money off people attending their sites and by implementing that rule they have fewer players, I am sure whatever "extras" they have made from more rentals or kit sold onsite, it isn't offset by the numbers that don't attend. Their principle was that 2 tone wasn't right and they stuck by that principle and were willing to take the hit to the wallet. Whether you agree with their principle or not, I do admire the conviction(boom boom) to stick to their ideals on it. Personally, not a fan of the idea of binary triggers (no idea if I have ever come up against one, normally these things are based on whether the person who has it is a knob or not) and pistols with high cap m4 mags, it's just not for me and if a local site had that rule I would see it as a reason to attend. I don't like speedsoft, if people do that's fine but the fact there is choice in the market is a good thing. If you want to speedsoft etc then great, go to sites that do it or allow that style, if you don't, I'd like there to be somewhere to go that applies suitable rules. More choice and variation of games, styles etc to me is very welcome, even if it means there are events, sites etc that I end up not wanting to attend. BFGs, had 3 for over 6 years and frankly they have saved me over £1000 in pyro, never had one stolen and I regularly leave them to the end of the game. Maybe I have been lucky or the sites I have attended have been ultra honest. even if they did get stolen I'd still be quids in (though annoyed!). However they do get stolen, I would hazard a guess that the rule is there so marshalls can step in and prevent dead players ruining firefights to collect their bfgs, if the area isn't in contact I can't see collecting used bfgs would be an issue. Have a strict rule in writing, then you can be flexible, don't have the rule at all and it can't be enforced when needed. Just my 2 pence worth.

  11. I'm happy with my SA-E03 Its from the early release so I don't know if later versions are different. I haven't messed with internals either. Anything you get could turn out to be a lemon so as long as you buy from a decent retailer you'll be safe in the knowledge that if its DOA or fails while testing you'll be able to return it with minimal hassle. When it arrives clean the barrel (search how) and then put a hundred or more BBs through it (test hop adjustment too) If its good keep it and enjoy. If not return it...

  12. You can tell him whatever you want; he is a piece of shit. An old acquaintance of mine was in one of the Guards regiments; some upper class twit put him in charge of the stores, which he flogged off. Realising that this might have been a bit of an error, he legged it to France and joined the FFL. On discovering that everything was done in French or, as he put it, "I thought it was supposed to be a Foreign Legion; everything was in fucking French!", he deserted and made his way back to the UK, where he was promptly arrested and spent some time in the glasshouse. He is now strangely reluctant to go to France.

  13. After attempting to implement two different 3rd party antispam measures, leaning on IPS's supposedly 'very good' antispam system and generally restricting post counts and interactions on new accounts to a minimum to keep spam down it's still obvious that spam is getting through (and in a particularly obnoxious way). Admitting defeat, I've enabled the question and answer challenge spam prevention on the sign-up form with two questions currently in the rotation. You've probably seen this a lot on other forums, but in case you aren't familiar the Q&A challenge is simply a single question posed to prospective new joiners that they have to answer correctly in order to sign up. Typically these questions are themed so as to fit that of the forum and confound spammers who probably don't even know what your forum's primary subject is anyway. I'd like to get this to five questions total and can't really think of anything else that fits the criteria below well so I'm hoping that a few of you can help with suggestions: Please do not post your suggestions here, but instead PM them to me*. I'd rather these answers aren't indexed and easily searchable on our own URL. Free patch (posted) for the 3-4 that're picked. Remember: The person signing up might have very little knowledge of airsoft at all Questions should nevertheless probably be airsoft themed to reduce overlap with these spammer's general knowledge Answers to these questions should be short as they will be checked against a list of appropriate answers with no human in the loop at all, so if they have to answer with more than one or two words it's probably not going to work If you want to see the existing questions, here they are: Not necessarily attached to either question (particularly the second). *I've enabled post approval simply so that one of you doesn't accidentally spill the beans on a good question.

  16. Cheers, I've been looking at it, I've been able to flatten the auto contacts back a millimetre or two, so I think I've got some margin to play with again. Stuck a bit of blu-tack on the trigger, covered in foil to test-shim it, it works Now superglued a washer on the trigger... AND IT WORKS... PROPERLY Safety, Single shot, Short-pull on Full Auto gives one shot, all the way back ... rat-a-tat-a-tat Lovely Thank you SO MUCH guys for sticking with me, the fact you haven't pissed off in a cloud of dust really encouraged me to keep going, and the toys didn't have to come out the pram at all (Edit: Oh crap, the one thing I haven't done before putting every last nut and bolt back in place... check the beast actually feeds properly: I put in that new nozzle (Shiny! Shiny!) and it's probably a different spec to the original. It might not actually work! Something for tomorrow's test shoot in the garden. For the moment I'm resting on my laurels and cracking open a beer or two!)

  17. It's just a curious position to ban two-tones because you don't want to invite unwanted attention to the hobby, while at the same time flogging stolen MOD kit. ? I can see why it made sense in 2006 before the VCRA kinks had been worked out, but in CURRENT_YEAR, when just about every site welcome IFs, it's rather Quixotic. I'd wonder what the position is on other non-RIFs like the APS UAR, or Pulse Rifles. Respectfully, I have to disagree, that's a great way to highlight that none of the "rules" actually matter. I'd far rather see sites make clear distinctions between recommendation ("should") and rules ("must"). It's cringe standing through a non-brief briefing being read the riot act pre-emptively, knowing that most of what's being said is a literal waste of everybody's time because it's not going to be enforced.

    Price gouging ?

It doesn't really make a difference to me as my loyalty is to my bank account so I'll shop at wherever is cheapest. If a shop is going to raise their prices then I go elsewhere

  21. Not defending his actions but he's served his time and karma has caught up with him with a vengeance in the form of Motor Neuron Disease. Call him a piece of shit all you want, but I wouldn't wish that diagnosis on anybody. I've never met the bloke, but watched a few vids of his musings on the UCAP FB page (I really must get to the bunker or Valiant) and I like the cut of his jib when it comes to the running of his sites and his thoughts on Airsoft in general. The two-tone thing is odd, but who cares really - new players can rent from the site if needs be.

    Not sure of my rights

Wolf are, or at least were, absolutely shite for customer service, & there were many horrific stories of the liberties they'd taken with customers wonky guns etc. BUT my knowledge of them was from some years ago, I've had no dealings with them for years, nor have I heard anything recently, so I would suggest you get as much advice as you can on your consumer rights, especially distance selling rules, someone on here will give you chapter & verse, & then armed with that go back & tell them what YOU want, I'm pretty sure they can ask for the opportunity to put a fault right, but it sounds like you've already given them that chance & they failed miserably. Some here will say mag incompatibility can often be expected, but that's between brands, if your issue is with the mag it came with then it's clearly "not fit for purpose".

  27. I have that exact model. It's shit. It was for my son, but he's nicked my Lonex gun instead as the Orion GB shit itself several times. It now has a complete E&C GB in there, but the bugger still won't use it so it's consigned to be a 'spare of a spare' in the kitbag - i.e. the last gun to get pulled out if all the others I've got fail or used as a loner. Shame really because shoots alright now (I mean, there's no Specna Internals left in it), but it's still pretty boring to look at compared to the new offerings from other manufacturers (such as Double Eagle et al).

  29. good idea that, will have to remember it. ahh the next familiar problem. getting it so that the semi-blocker is enough distance to set off semi auto without over-travelling and tripping the auto. iirc i adjusted the rod at the trigger end- filed out the slot on the trigger and packed the rod (that was for adjusting the rod forward for less distance) i swear if your next buy is an m4 with the worst possible wiring job whilst still being technically functional imma call shenanigans

  30. If you still have some movement on the Auto contacts then shimming the linkage would be a suitable fix. If the Auto contacts are already as far back as you want then you are going to have to rebend the Front contacts to engage sooner with the dolly. Or build up the dolly with solder to make it longer. If your careful you might be able to take the contacts out without opening the gearbox. Since they just slide in the front and side of the unit from the outside.

  31. The other less invasive and perhaps more long term solution would be to take a little metal off the AUG trigger sear. So the COL doesn't need to lift as high in the first place.

    Price gouging ?

Generally speaking people buy from people, online ordering is somewhat impersonal but consistent good service does outweigh a small saving for me (from time to time at least). As for in person shopping I definitely prefer to buy from someone that I can build a rapport with (as long as they don't take the piss on pricing). With that relationship usually comes better service and I am prepared to pay extra for that.

  35. Couldn't wait for lunchtime... threw it in there. Trigger felt a little rough compared to last time, so wasn't sure if I'd messed something up, but.... It.... seems... to... be... working! Yes I'd love an alternative COL @ak2m4 because I have no idea how long my bodge superior quality superglue engineering will last. But the concept is definitely proven! More material for the sector gear to cam against = bingo, bango, and indeed bongo!* *(unless whatever happened to the trigger to make it feel rough has actually helped)

  43. UKFOB and Ammodrop are due a big Novi order imminently although they are having some issues getting it through customs I hear. They won't sell anything too powerful either however you will struggle as Novi rifles don't come in 2 tone which you would nee dot buy as you won't have a UKARA to buy a realistic coloured rifle.

There is second hand sales section on this forum. For snipers power limits are often different site to site best bet is to check with the site your son intends to play at. I would do a forum search on the SSG10 many think there are better guns for less money.
