you could replace the lenses with thick polycarbonate sheet. would require a bit of testing and you would never be sure you could trust them. Also trying to do any sort of activity in a gas mask gets deeply unpleasant quickly. Many have tried most have realised it was a bad idea.4 points

Couple of pics of my F2000 as I painted the suppressor to match the gun... and hopefully tomorrow will be it's full debut on the battlefield! It's already got some wear and tear on the paint just from carrying it slung over my shoulder and rubbing against the mags in my belt, tomorrow should see it get more battle-worn - which will be good3 points -

People pay extra for premium genuine forces kit. Only the cleverest Chinese ten year olds with the nimblest fingers are used to make the best stuff...2 points -
Let's be honest, the Mod, the Government, & every fecker in between have long been guilty of wasting money, serious small country gdp amounts of money, on literally everything & anything, usually with nothing to show for it. Any wonder that the people who actually get their hands dirty for a pittance in comparison feel the need for a Brucie Bonus if the chance arises ?2 points

By which I mean, 75 m/s / 250 fps. Sure, that's hucking a massive steel cylinder slug (63% more bullet per bullet), but it's under 350fps so that's site legal, Reddit said so. Ian McCollum / Gun Jesus has been having a play. Bit of a chat about them: And at the (point-blank) range. A lot of the fun is playing the game of "Well, if I made one, and I could, I'd make it better in this, that and the other ways...". Since they're smoothbores, not spinning the slugs, and there seems to be a hard 75m/s limit on the velocity, using steel BBs than tumbling cylinders seems like an obvious tweak. One interesting point from the chat is that the "barrel" is just there to stop the slugs from smashing into the coils, so arguably you could fling 100J of undersized "unbarreled" steel while saying "not a firearm". ?1 point

You can buy actual AIRSOFT safe lenses for them , but as big stew said I guarantee you’ll be sweating like a pig in a Mosque if you wear one to play Airsoft . ?1 point

Not sure of my rights
Rogerborg reacted to The Waco Kid for a topic
Rogerborg is right on this. Even custom made items are covered by your statutory rights. Specifically if they fundamentally flawed or faulty. If you bought the item over the internet, ie distance selling. You have more time to complain and return but as you seem to have contacted them immediately it should not be an issue. Chargeback and good luck.1 point -

Help finding a QD gearbox for specna arms edge in the UK
ak2m4 reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
Just an FYI - E&C Gearboxes are not a straight drop-in for the Specna Edge - the mock bolt-release mechanism parts will have to be removed from the shell and the spring posts for said mechanism will need to be Dremeled-off. I have an E&C GB in an Edge (supplied by @ak2m4 a year or so ago), and once modded fits fine.1 point -
If anyone needs any info or would like to inspect any of the gear I am selling please let me know ?1 point

E&C is exactly what I'm after as they fit perfectly but have been unable to find one anywhere1 point

Gauss guns are here, and they're airsoft legal!
Pappa Large reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
I do like how the manufacturer is very clear that these are early prototypes, and they're about the least practical way of murderising someone imaginable at the moment. However, they exist, they "work" (about 4 shots out of 10) and they're actually selling them, so kudos for that. Legislation is going to be a pickle for the various fun sponges out there, and I imagine the AFT ATF is frantically coming up with ways to define and ban them just on general principle. Over here, they clearly fall under lethal barrelled firearms, so it's FAC or nothing.1 point -

Two tones
Nick G reacted to The Waco Kid for a topic
Two tone is probably needed but a brightly coloured gun like object in public will not stop the police being called. Not is it bulletproof… As a old pre VCRA codger I’ll tell a story that happen to me some years back. Early 2000’s I was walking along a residential street in Southhall when a teenager of Middle Eastern ethnicity wearing a green m65 coat, red and white shemagh and carrying a G3 comes barrelling out of an alley right into me. Luckily for him I was probably one of the few adults then who had any real knowledge of Airsoft. This probably hasn’t changed. To an extent even within the Police. I told him not to be a stupid dead **** and to think about why. He went inside rapidly to use the toilet. A friend of mine got raided for unrelated reasons and when the Police officers found a TM MP5 in the wardrobe they really though they’d struck detective gold. Anyway it’s all subjective. A tiny flat or small garden you’r far more likely to attract attention. A private estate in the country, no one will care if you are firing a semi-auto shotgun out of the Ferrari’s window while pulling donuts. ?1 point -
@steverebo In case you haven't seen. This might be good for you...1 point

Nice to have, wasn’t sure from the image. Less is sometimes more with garnish. I’ve probably got too much on my hood. Try it in a game, you will need to find players who have a more than a 10 second attention span though!1 point -

this, we accept that 2-tone is a necessary evil to allow our hobby to continue, and as long as you don't do it to anything rare/nice (ie not commonly available) nobody is going to care.1 point -

taofledermaus? theyre the only ones afaik in modern times who've had access to og gyrogets and more importantly the ammo. although afaik there is someone working on doing a modern repro. yeah that's gonna be an interesting video. tbh though, there's still quite aways to go before this becomes practical as a replacement for good ol' gunpowder. no doubt regardless of how fast/slow development happens anything that launches projectiles at that rate will be receiving the banhammer for anywhere outside of america.1 point -

EvilMonkee reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Given the pay and conditions, and that the "Armed Forces Covenant" is three empty words that mean absolutely nothing to anybody with an ounce of power of influence, I can't say that I blame them. It's the taxpayer picking up the tab, but in the context of MOD typists getting gibsed £60K for claiming carpal tunnel hurties while squaddies get a couple of grand for having a hand blown off (and only if they can prove it was their wanking hand), I can't say that I begrudge it that much.1 point -

Generally speaking people buy from people, online ordering is somewhat impersonal but consistent good service does outweigh a small saving for me (from time to time at least). As for in person shopping I definitely prefer to buy from someone that I can build a rapport with (as long as they don't take the piss on pricing). With that relationship usually comes better service and I am prepared to pay extra for that.1 point

Price gouging ?
Druid799 reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
It doesn't really make a difference to me as my loyalty is to my bank account so I'll shop at wherever is cheapest. If a shop is going to raise their prices then I go elsewhere1 point -
Exactly, and it'll vary from shop to shop, and whether they're making their money on flogging many small items, or a few bigguns. It's annoying to have a range of prices, but that's how free markets should and do work.1 point
