  6. Love the way the fella with 25 posts comes on giving it large to all the regulars who have been here for years and are aware of the lay of the land. I don't believe it was a mistake, I believe you knew fine rightly what you were upto and therefore you deserve all the opprobrium (you can look that one up) coming your way.

  10. Many moons ago I was involved in a 70's themed gangster film. Due to a sudden burst of summer rain, we all ran under the shelter of a concrete canopy that housed a couple of cashpoints at the front of the local Natwest. As we waited for the rain to stop, one of the actors pulled out his revolver and asked me to see why the hammer was broken. At that precise moment a Group 4 van pulled up to deliver or pick up some cash. The driver and passenger thus found some bloke in a baby shit yellow safari jacket, afro wig, Zapata moustache and aviator shades waving a pistol around... I quickly pulled the binbag from our camera and shouted that we were making a film. They alighted from the van and had a good swear at us for giving them a heart attack. These days I expect we'd all have been in deepest shit. We felt lucky to have avoided any back then.

    What gun should I buy

To be a bit more helpful (teeth firmly gritted), the quality of answer you get is determined by the information in the question. The more you can tell us about the actual make and model of what you're interested in, the better. Also, what you expect to be using them for, e.g. woodland, CQB, impression kit, sticking up a bank.

Hi everyone, just thought I would introduce myself as a new forum member. Been playing since last July and have learnt so much on the technical side of the sport. Currently running a CQR and XP18 for general play and a Steyr Scout and MK23 for sniper role. Love the sport and the people.

  21. Thank you for your constructive response, have a nice day :)! I love how you purposely pick out the part where I mention on this and other platforms.... this isn't the only second hand Airsoft platform. "lol" Use your common sense and refrain from senselessly responding to a "closed" topic, I have made an honest mistake which I have owned up to there's nothing more nothing less going on so keep your unneeded childish comments to your self. I am sure as an adult you might take pride in more interesting things than gaining others approval with some sub par jokes on an Airsoft forum!

  22. That is an old school G&G Mp5 SD GARS Handguard. They are expensive and no longer made. However the Gunshop in Lille France has one. GG KIT MP5 SD GARS - Gunshop (gunshoplille.com) You'll need to convert the front end of the RIF to an MP5 SD, So new cocking tube, Front Sight, Cocking Handle, Handguard holder and G&G Rail covers. It will require some technical skill and some tools to mate the G3 receiver to the SD front end. ::GTapex.com:: Tokyo Marui G3/MC-51 to MC-51SD (aka the G3 SBS) conversion guide

  23. I’m sorry @Louisd but EVERY excuse/reply/answer give to the justifiable questions you’ve been asked about the gun are quite farcical to say the least , apart from the fact it’s an SR ‘type’ gun there’s nothing about it that says it’s the G&P model , for starters there’s no trad’s on it of any sort ! Yet the gun in the airsoft tiger add you’ve used as justification for the claim is positively festooned with licensed logo’s FFS? plus when you come down too it even just in photos you can tell the difference in quality of materials used between a cheap’n’cheerful Chinese knock off and a quality piece like a G&P let alone when it’s in your hand ? PLUS if you do want to go down the “oh it was a simple mistake” excuse route then I’m sorry but with your claimed extensive sales history we would expect you of all people to be able to tell the difference between the two levels of quality when the gun was in your hands ? Testicles ? Or pig thick skin ? ?

  25. tbf, i didn't think it was breaking any particular forum rules/suspicious. just a high asking price which isn't really an issue (beyond getting a roasting in this thread). this is absolutely true, you're perfectly entitled to ask whatever price you like, however the purpose of this thread is to give prospective buyers a fair picture of what they're potentially buying. it's a novel approach compared to other forums but it seems to work out. the relevance of the scope is that it's the only thing that appeared to be added to the bundle (insofar as it appeared in the pictures, insinuating it's inclusion). an expensive optic would of course add value to the overall package and hence turn a high asking price into a perfectly reasonable asking price. identifying it as the same rif is important to rule out that you hadn't, for example, purchased the gun from strykerles and were now selling a completely different, albeit superficially similar gun. basically that we weren't doing this: and mistaking you selling a g&p limited edition gun that merely resembled the a&k you'd bought from strykerles which would change our opinions on the asking price. as above, the scope being pictured in the advert insinuated it's inclusion in the bundle. often when people are selling guns sans-optics they either remove the optic to take pictures or specify in the advert "optic not included". i wouldn't worry so much about it, we generally avoid political talk on here so folk gotta get their drama from somewhere good man, hopefully you can find a buyer a bit easier now

  26. This set off a bit of a walk down memory lane for me. I was playing at spec ops before it became spec ops - at the time mr spec ops ran the games at Ground Zero and spec ops was an invite only all day long proto-battlesim type thing. No hicaps seemed like such a big deal then and I spent loads of money on TM standard mags cause it was either them or the Star "realcaps". Mad to think midcaps weren't invented yet. Fond memories of ruining my jetboil by using it to make pepperami instant noodles. I also helped build some of the first structures there. I also lost my USP on its first game which sucked but a guy cheered me up by doing a peter griffin impression. This must of been in 2006-7 or so. Funny to know they still do hotdogs and chilli con carne as that was the menu all those years ago. I went again I think 2014 or so hoping to meet aforementioned mr spec ops but he wasn't there rip. There were rumours that there were abandoned houses out in the woods, there was also a supposed sighting of the "beast of bloxworth" and also during a night game, a ufo. We never did come across any of these houses but I note that the site down the road does have one. So maybe there was a beast of bloxworth after all...

  28. @Louisd, your absolutely correct, your free to name your own price, after all there's nothing immoral about making a profit on something, case in point only yesterday a guy sold a star wars toy that he bought for a pound, at auction it sold for 2k? BUT when you bought it, the sellers ad clearly states his belief that its an A&k, supported by the accompanying spares. But you claimed it to be a higher end variant from a completely different manufacturer, one would assume in order to justify the mental s/h price for what's in reality a bashed up A&k....... Thing is, that shit might go unnoticed over on Zin, but not here, not ever?

  38. Expect to see a lot more SIG clones. Following a rigorous 27-month prototype evaluation phase, the Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapon competition has come to a close with the Army announcing SIG Sauer as the contract winner on April 19, 2022. The company’s submissions have been designated the XM5 Rifle and XM250 Automatic Rifle and are chambered in SIG Sauer’s proprietary 6.8x51mm Fury cartridge. Valued at $20.4 million, the Army’s initial order includes weapons, ammo, accessories, spare parts, and contractor support. Moreover, the contract allows other DOD services and, potentially, Foreign Military Sales countries to purchase the NGSW weapons. https://www.wearethemighty.com/articles/sig-sauer-won-the-armys-new-rifle-and-machine-gun-contract-for-20-4-million/

  42. Either way, surely the points you've raised have been labored enough already? He got caught out through this thread, Mods stepped in to remove the Ad, tried to justify his actions on here (which, again, is more than many have done in the past), met with a healthy dose of (justified) skepticism, pledged to mend his ways. Macks is a beautiful thing - it has eyes and ears everywhere. If he tries it again - we will find out.

  44. If we're going to be technically correct - the best kind of correct - chronos only measure elapsed time, then calculate fps from that. Joules is just another step down the line. Let the silicon take the strain. It seems obvious, but I've yet to see it up here. Hmm, I might start laminating them and sticking them up at chrono stations, like some sort of efficiency vigilante.

  46. Something I learned starting my own little side business designing and drop-shipping gear recently is how fees factor in; I actually had to quickly up the price on my own product a few $ shortly after release when I totally forgot to factor in card fees to my costs. From what I've read over the years, airsoft sites don't make much profit margin and that's in a business that's mostly charged cash since it started (that's only really changed some places in the past couple of years). When you suddenly lose around 3-5% of the money you take in (maybe more for these remote payment kiosks) that starts to make things pretty tight indeed. Obviously it can take time, maybe petrol, to pay cash in to the bank but generally I'd wager sites save a good bit on operating cost by being paid cash by players. I know if I had the option to pay £1-3 or so less per game for cash rather than card I'd take it every time.

  47. Unlikely, since I run a 1.8J DMR myself. What I'm more concerned about are people taking point blank shots with guns over (potentially way over) 1.3J because they've got it in their heads that "under 350fps" means that it's fine whether they're shooting 0.2g or 0.48g. Good. The sooner sites stop thinking and talking in term of fps, the sooner we can put this all behind us. All airsoft chronos show a Joules value. You don't need to work anything out, you just set your BB weight and look at that number. For example, I can tell you that my new TAC-41 boltie shoots at 1.8J with 0.43g BBs with the stock spring, and 2.27J with 0.43g with a 100N spring (minus 4 coils). I didn't even look at the fps value, and nor could I tell you what it might shoot at with 0.2g because it'll never, ever have anything that light in it. It's time to move on from 0.2g and fps. Join us in the future, we have flying cars and rocket boots and all sorts.
