AK105-VSU (11.5” barrel) I really enjoy making paint and environments work, spent a lot of time and collected a lot of Cerakote swatches and loads of aerosol tests. Some colours are very ‘reactive’ and play to the human eye changing quite dramatically in different light and backdrops.

Take him to the nearest shop you can find and tell him he can have whatever he wants , once’s he’s finished taking everything to the counter asking him how he’s going to pay for it ? When he looks at you all confused tell him “that’s the reality of life son , sometimes you can’t have what you want unless you can pay for it yourself !” Then elbow him out of the way and buy yourself something REALLY EXPENSIVE ! Be a valuable life lesson for him ? ????

To be fair to him he has been spending a lot of time lately planning ways to make himself money. The current, genuinely good idea, is upcycling.

  12. Me and my best mate and various other friends used to go every year(obviously the pandemic put the mockers on that !) but we never went for the gameplay just for the social side and an excuse to act like kids again and decompress (we both have quite high stress jobs) , your NEVER going to have even a hint of control or mission effective planning with that many civvies ’playing war’ in the woods BUT did it really matter to us ? no not really , the huge numbers and the absolute cluster fuck those numbers caused was one of the very reasons we enjoyed going ! It is funny as hell when you’ve got two or three or even sometimes just one bloke holding up 10/20/30/+ players at a point for literally ages ! And to be honest we just played our own game we never followed the ‘game plan’ (hence we always play ‘others’)we had real satisfaction from spending our time slowly slowly making our way through the undergrowth to get as close as we could to an enemy objective or even their main base to try and pick off players who then act totally bemused when they get hit ! on more than one occasion we were found out not by the skill at arms of the other teams but by them hearing us giggling like a pair of school girls due to the confusion we just caused ! ?‍♂️? it started loosing its appeal for me when they stopped bring the shop to the site , I do fully accept it must have been an absolute nightmare getting it their and set up and yes you can still order on line and they’ll deliver to you on site BUT for me personally and my mate the thing is there are no Airsoft shops even vaguely close to where I live so this used to be my only experience of a shop(and from talking to them it was the same for a lot of other players too)so it certainly was a ‘kid in a candy shop’ for us and we certainly did a lot of impulse buying due to the goods being their in front of me but equally there were a few things I’d wanted but no longer did after seeing them ‘in the flesh’ either . So to finish my ramble all I’d say is if your thinking of going just do it and make your own mind up and don’t rely completely on others ‘opinions’ . Savvy ?

    Newbie Advice....

Hi, welcome to the forum! Initial first gun newbie advice is always - leave it alone until you've used it a while and then decide if it actually needs more power/better barrel/different hop rubber. H03 is from the Specna ONE series if I remember correctly so it probably needs the gearbox out to get at the spring anyway. Easy, simple upgrade would be a ZCI barrel and a Maple Leaf macaron rubber with the Maple Leaf Omega nub. Should give you a bit of a bump in power without taking you over the site limit too. Speak to @ak2m4 about what he can supply from his wondrous website www.ak2m4.co.uk

  14. I've used the Warrior Assault Systems taco pouches for G3, M14 and M4 (both STANAG and plastic styles) and they work well. Otherwise, you could look at the NI/SADF style chest rigs where one size swamps all.

  18. Egyptian pre-dynastic civilisation 4300BCE Greek post-Mycenaean civilisation 1200BCE Thales of Miletus kicked off Greek philosophy and was born in 624BCE Kebab was first used in a text by Kyssa-i Yusuf in 1377 to describe meat cooked on swords and knives. Stone skewers dating from 1700BCE have been found on Santorini. The word souvlaki itself is debated but is certainly 20th century. Souvlaki is an Armenian kebab taken to Greece post Armenian genocide. Never been to NAF.

  20. Wouldn't get too hung up on "upgrades". Barring a new hop most "upgrades" don't improve performance much and end up causing faults. Also, metal is overrated, most metal used in airsift guns is crap. Plastic weighs less, your arms will thank you. G&G overpriced these days IMO. Best getting something cheap and proven like a sub-£200 CYMA, stick 0.25s or 0.28s in it and go and have fun.

  22. Not a lot to say. I'm assuming you are referring to the CORE series with the plastic bodies. Features synonymous with the CORE series in general: They have OK gearboxes, all use the same receivers, the only differences are in the front rails, stocks (Crane or PDW) and some CORE versions have the mediocre Gate X-ASR Mosfet inside that will shit itself with anything more powerful than the stock motor. I'm not sure if the DD Mk18s with the X-ASR are in stock with UK suppliers from what I've seen though - the £145 models don't seem to be fitted with them. I have seen/felt/held the CORE DD Mk18 'in the real' at the Z1 showroom and it's...fine. The receiver plastic is....ok...not G&G quality but perfectly serviceable. If you crank down on the receiver, you will probably feel some flex (you can with a G&G too to a lesser extent), but for BBwars/LARPsoft it will be ok - just don't wrap it around a tree. I have never seen a Double Eagle 'in the real', but from the reviews and photos I've seen - I would lean towards one of them. They look better, have better features, and I think they are better value for money as @Rogerborg points out. But the best plastic bodied M4-style guns from what I've seen are BO Dynamics/Lonex LT595 and the KWA EVE-4. Both are incredibly solid and wobble-free. And I have both. Had the LT-595 for nearly 10 years and it has been lovely to own. The KWA not so much frankly.

  27. I'm going with a group, joined Others for similar reasons stated above. It's a good laugh, especially if you play around the fringes and don't get in the bottlenecks. Just don't take it too serious... I.e. delta Also, the food is good. Cannot recommend the Greek place enough. The food options are probably 40% why I wanna go again. Beyond hanging out, it's definately the main reason why the missus is happy to go even though they don't play.

  35. It seems like you have forgot about our Lord and Saviour HSGI Taco pouch! Plenty of clones (of varying degrees of quality) around, when set up they can securely hold whatever magazine you throw at it, and if you're the crafty type you can even line them with anti slip material so that the chances of magazines dropping out on their own become -1!

  38. I find them handy as they happily take three hi cap STANAGs and I'm sure would fit AK mags or others as they are adjustable. Also useful for any other tat you're carrying e.g. speedloaders, small first aid kit, tools, etc etc etc.

  40. sentences i never thought i'd write: just embrace the convenience of pushing things through the sphincter when you need to dump, and make sure it closes up relatively tight so you don't go accidentally dropping anything..... as for the mag pouches it's always a balance, the speediboi stuff comes at risk of retention or in this case lack of specialization, more basic pouches aren't going to be as fast to access but on the flip side your mag is at least going to be there when you need it.

  45. I played here last weeked, i can confirm the following; Very well marshalled and no power trip marshals. Very dark in places, you will need a tac light. Very close quarter, no 'bang kills' so be ready for potentially sub 350fps 0.25 at point blank. Very secure - once the gaming starts the car park / site is locked to outsiders. Useful food and airsoft supply shop. Toilets OK, but not in safe zone - have to go loo with eye pro on. Personally i think the building is great, but the killer for me was that there were too many barricades in each room, the rooms are not big to begin with and this makes flow rather frustrating. What i mean by that is to really be effective you need a shit ton of pyro. Theres also a few dead end rooms, would be great if they could be opened up / knocked through.

  49. Last weekend's 9h night tournament was a blast! We were missing one member (so we were 5 instead of 6), nonetheless we went balls deep and did almost everything! The tournament itself was very interesting since in order to locate/complete some objectives we had to find information inside other objectives (namely Objective 4, its coordinates were found inside Objective 3, E1's coordinates were found in either E4 or E2 and the rest was distributed throughout the AO). Storyboard was that we had to help a sniper called "Silent Arrow" in eliminating a drug lord, by recovering information around the AO so we could tell him which person to kill. (map for reference with all the objectives marked) At the start (11:00 PM) our guns were taken away and transported to an unknown location (AEG on the map), we were then given a small cartographic exercise in order to find the coordinates, hiked from the HQ to AEG, collected our gear and proceeded to C2, then E4 and E2, since they were limited to a very short time frame (30 mins each, 01:00-01:30 E4, 01:30-02:00 E2), here we had to wait for a car to leave small boxes along the road (marked in green), those boxes contained very useful information regarding other objectives, mainly coordinates and items we needed. If one team was not able to recover those two packages within the given time limit, they would have had to hike back to the HQ and ask for them, with a point penalty of 500 points per package (which means being last, since 1000 points equal two combat type objectives). This is where we had our only engagement with a patrol which lasted a whopping 15 seconds, we got spotted because another team, who was sitting in the tree line next to us, ran away creating a lot of noise so the patrol got alerted. When we opened fire they melted, but still, 100 points lost -.- (another 200 if you lose the engagement) With those two packages retrieved, we headed back to the HQ so we could input the coordinates in our GPS devices and plot a sensible route. The main goal was to reach C1 as fast as possible because it was the objective with the strictest time frame (03:00-03:30), unfortunately we fucked up navigation and barely missed it, so we decided to do Obj.2, here we had to injure (by shooting him in semi auto in non vital parts, essentially arms and legs) a dude, extract him and blow up a building. Barely completed it, we messed the extraction part because we didn't have enough time. After that, we skipped WP4 and went to WP3, WP2, WP15, stumbled upon Obj.4 (had to insert a chip inside a laptop without being seen by the defenders), WP5, attacked Obj.3 where we had to blow up a laboratory, then moved counter clockwise through WP11, WP6, Objective 1 where we had to exfiltrate a case of radioactive material and take a picture of a scientist, after telling him apart from the rest (they all had images of chess pieces on them, it was relatively easy because he had a king), skipped WP7 because we didn't realize we were that close, went WP14, E7 and E1. At E1 we found the sniper, who was an archer IRL and he had setup a shooting range with four dummies at a good 35 metres, we gave him the correct name and he fucking pierced the dummy with an arrow from that distance. Kudos, that was a fucking good shot! (We were later informed that he was competing in the national archery championship, so yeah). On our way back to the HQ we went to C3 and then finished at 07:35 AM. Back at HQ we did a small debrief with the organizers and noticed that they had given us 5000 points in total, we thought we were like last, or second to last, since we had skipped a few waypoints, skipped C1, almost fucked up Obj.2 and we were the last team to finish.. Fast forward 20 minutes, results were out.. Last team (of 6) did 3250 points, then 3 more teams with less than 3500, hype started to build up and then, drum rolls, the 2nd team got 3850 points!!!! Well colour me impressed! Never thought we could have had such a large gap from the 2nd! Unfortunately I forgot to turn on track recording on my GPS, but my mate's said we hiked around 23 kilometres, in 8 and a half hours, not too bad! Kit wise, a last minute change I made was to bring the Mayflower instead of the TMR, and it was a really good choice, the thing is 100x more comfortable and lighter despite the overall larger signature and capacity. What let me down was the backpack, 3 hours in and it started digging into my shoulders despite having only two litres of water, one bag of BBs and one NVG monocular in its protective soft pouch, along with spare batteries and a tiny bit of food so I'm gonna have to look around for a replacement. And a stronger insect repellent, my arms are filled with bites it looks like i have a plague of some sort! Group picture before starting (mhm, tinted lens in pitch black conditions, fucking 1000000iq play )
