Oh, Mama... Thanks for the link, I've added one to my basket but will hold off until there's more info, I'm only concerned about the picatinny version v the one with iron sights.2 points -
Here we go, I was going to wait for the UKARA but got a bit too excited and I'm a bit flamboyant sometimes so I really didn't mind the pink. The rifle is solid, fit and finish is mostly sublime. Chronos at 0.85j or 270fps on average on 0.25's, advertised at 305fps on 0.2's so I think thats spot on. Replaced the bucking on it on day 2 of having it and did notice a slight difference (thought the bb's were shooting upwards on minimal hop prior) but could of just been placebo. Max weight at my local site is 0.25g's so can't speak for any other weights. The length is probably a touch too short for comfortable ergonomics but that's a trade off for being able to push around this killhouse effectively. I've had no problems so far with it's main job, firing. Patrol Bases pink paint is glossy and looks to be of good quality, I've only managed to scratch it when putting on mlok accessories etc. The only place I wish they would of been a bit more careful was on the stock, there is a button that makes the buttstock flip down on a hinge for quick battery changes and this was not working when I first got the RIF, I scratched away the paint there with a bit of ISO Alcohol to help and it now functions fine. When I was changing the bucking I messed up and stripped the screw that holds the main pin (the upper receiver pin), I was convinced it was a t10 screw but my t10 didn't fit snug so I wacked a 2.5mm allen in there, worked fine and then when I put it back together I stripped it, turns out it was a t10 but it was either poorly machined or my torx screwdrivers are crap. This just got worse and worse from here on, screw extractors i had were too big, so I then tried to dremel a flathead in there, the dremel skidded all over it, probably user error, might of been the 50p cutting disks. Mangled the screw, put a small gash into my receiver (painted over it with some tamiya OD), thought about wacking an allen key ontop of the bolt and then jb welding or epoxying it in there to then try twist it out, was advised not to. Took it to a local engineer and he welded a bolt to it and got it out for £20, took him 10 mins. Also not a fan of the little plate thing in the buffer tube, I think it's slightly too small as it falls out the bottom with ease, that thing was so annoying to position, probably the most difficult part of assembly. Have since got a Vector Optics Maverick II Plus DBR and it's spot on, love it. Using a crappy flip up protector right now but will get one from red dot engineering as im going to get a snide cheapo Unity Fast Riser mount for the dot as it's a bit hard to see with the paintball mask so the flip up will be useless once thats on. Also have a Feyachi WL25 with mlok pressure pad but haven't fielded it yet because I want a protector for that too. Tried a sling, don't like it, games aren't long enough to necessitate it either. Running the original 140rnd mag and have a 220rnd mid cap aswell, haven't needed to change mag during a game yet so that's good I guess (games usually around 30 mins). Also tried an angled foregrip and I have pretty small hands but this thing was very small, removed it immediately and sent it back. Here's a photo of me from a Halloween game last week, not a great picture I know. The camo is also a little overused but Im just basic like that sometimes😁.2 points

System: New Forum Software
Mr Dellski reacted to proffrink for a topic
AF-UK will be migrating to new forum software within the next few weeks. You may notice a difference in the appearance and functionality of the forums, but your posts and content will carry over. The Classifieds will be wiped and rebuilt (this includes feedback), but will be available immediately after migration. The current forum software has become a huge headache The forums run on software called IPB. Back in 2023 IPB decided to discontinue their marketplace, and ever since this has meant maintaining certain code without the assistance of authors of the various 3rd party plugins that we use for things like The Classifieds, small moderation tools and other minor tweaks that you likely don't notice like dead thread protection. Without these modules it's impossible to maintain the current rendition of AF-UK without dropping certain large features. A lot of you joined the forums for The Classifieds, and many of you solely use the forums for them so it's untenable that many of the modules that AF-UK uses don't work properly with the latest versions of IPB. We're moving to new software Migration could take as little as a week but may take up to three weeks. Downtime when the migration happens should be less than 24 hours. The new Classifieds will be more reliable and should have a few extra features when it releases with the new forums. The forums themselves will remain largely unchanged. Some data will be lost, but most will remain Although all of your accounts and posts will be retained, many items such as feedback and current classifieds listings will be wiped. Please use the next week or so to save any data that you may need as nothing is guaranteed given the age of the AF-UK database. There is still a small possibility that a full forum wipe will need to take place, but this is very unlikely.1 point -
What paint brand and colour did you use? Struggling to find anything for a reasonable price that also looks the part. Bonus points if you can include pics of how the paint looked on the rifle And for the sake of clarification, I mean the baby shit and blue - Not Rhodie brushstroke pattern1 point

I just have share there (or edit/share on my post) However I still have the “this is the old forum” message banner, so perhaps an interim thing pending completion of the upgrade ? I’m on Safari with an iPhone, getting the same with chrome etc and also if I select “get desktop site” to emulate using a PC1 point

Foreign Airsofter here to say 👋🏻
Lozart reacted to Foreign Airsofter for a topic
👋🏻Hey everyone! Thought I’d introduce myself my name is David, but on the field I go by Foreign Airsofter. I’m originally from Latvia, and after serving in the French Foreign Legion, the nickname “Foreign Airsofter” just felt right a little nod to both where I come from and my time in service. For years I wanted to get into Airsoft, but life always seemed to get in the way. Finally, at the beginning of this year, I decided it was time to jump in and I’ve been playing as much as I can ever since! How it all started I built a campervan in the UK, and my partner and I set off on a nearly 3-month road trip around Europe. On my birthday during that trip, I decided to treat myself I bought my first Airsoft rifle and officially started my Airsoft journey! Originally, I wanted to go down the sniper route, but after doing some research and chatting with more experienced players, I decided to start with an AEG. I picked up a Tokyo Marui HK416D, and I absolutely love it it’s almost identical to the one I used during my time in the French Foreign Legion. When I got back to the UK, I dug out my old army uniform from the attic, grabbed a chest rig and helmet off AliExpress, strapped a GoPro to my head and hit the UCAP Bunker with just one mag and had an absolute blast! I even recorded that first game for my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ForeignAirsofter Since then… My collection has definitely grown (I’ve even managed to get my dad hooked on Airsoft 😄). I keep telling my missus I keep “winning” new gear somehow, but for some reason she’s not buying that excuse! Funny story before my very first game, I actually took my HK416 apart just to understand how it worked, and that’s where my interest in tinkering and upgrading began. I’ve since added a sniper rifle to my loadout and really enjoy both playstyles. I love big outdoor fields and Milsim events, though I don’t mind a good CQB session now and then. I used to play regularly at Ground Zero and UCAP Bunker, but I’ve recently moved to South Wales so I’m looking forward to checking out the local sites and meeting more like minded players in the area! I did use a my fried GPT to make my gibberish easier to read ahha1 point -
