I offered £10 for that completely shit MP5K in the classifieds a while back. This is the charming reply I got from the seller: Wouldnt cover the postage, packaging and fees, do you get many free guns? I could just through it in the bin for the sake of 34p i'd get from your serious offer >.> am going to seriously reject that, but thanks for taking the time, to waste my time and hopefully you dont live much longer if this is how you spend your life... What a prat.5 points -

Ended up making my own "recipe" It's not perfect, the blue needs to be a bit brighter but I'm happy with the baby shit colour at least I can't attach an image, for some reason. Guessing the forum is still being buggy but I used: Arteza craft acrylic colors premium Olive Green, Dijon, Dark Teal and Charcoal black And essentially eyeballed the colours until they matched the images shown on ARS's website.3 points -
Most factories don't do a great quality control job, so yes tearing down a gearbox and making sure everything is greased correctly, shims are shimmed correctly, AOE is good etc is definitely going to help with optimising the gearbox without costing anything - If however, you open it up and find there's a plastic rack on the cylinder for example that should be changed out for metal teeth. Essentially, any small things that you notice are off whilst it's open are going to probably be worth changing out. Depending on who made the replica, some hop buckings are good but 99% of the time changing out to an after market option will always yield far better results. I always recommend trying to learn yourself as it's not only cheaper but it also gives you a better idea of if something isn't right with the replica (Make sure you have a back up if you decide to open it up, in case it goes wrong... Or better yet, buy a cheap boneyard rifle with the same gearbox type you want to open up (if you can, of course) and learn on the fecked one (That's how I got started, messing with boneyard AK's haha)3 points

Apart from an attitude that explains why his relationship broke down, how does he not understand that it is going to cost money in parts and labour to restore the gun to having a working safe fire setting and be usable in CQB?3 points -
Yes they are all airsoft rifs, there are just too many of them. In brief, my favorite 3 are TAC41P, cyma M14 EBR and krytac vector😊 The largest box that may have attracted you is classic army m1332 points

Public order act prohibits "paramilitary uniforms" being worn in public settings. Granted, this refers to more political aligned uniforms, But I wouldn't risk it. So is it legal? Technically, but probably not. The Police will treat all calls about firearms, gunmen, explosives, etc. as if they are real until they can discern otherwise. This can put you in a potentially dangerous encounter. Furthermore, your appearance in military fatigues with fake grenades and magazines can cause someone harassment, alarm or distress. Its not worth the hassle.2 points

As long as the parts you use all mesh well together, then the likelihood of it improving performance is favourable. However, your questions are extremely vague... What is currently "wrong" or dissatisfactory with your RIF, what do you want it to do that it currently doesn't? How much are you looking to spend? Are you taking it to a tech to do or doing it yourself? There's a lot of factors that need to be answered before you can get any sort of viable help2 points

System: New Forum Software
Mr Dellski reacted to proffrink for a topic
AF-UK will be migrating to new forum software within the next few weeks. You may notice a difference in the appearance and functionality of the forums, but your posts and content will carry over. The Classifieds will be wiped and rebuilt (this includes feedback), but will be available immediately after migration. The current forum software has become a huge headache The forums run on software called IPB. Back in 2023 IPB decided to discontinue their marketplace, and ever since this has meant maintaining certain code without the assistance of authors of the various 3rd party plugins that we use for things like The Classifieds, small moderation tools and other minor tweaks that you likely don't notice like dead thread protection. Without these modules it's impossible to maintain the current rendition of AF-UK without dropping certain large features. A lot of you joined the forums for The Classifieds, and many of you solely use the forums for them so it's untenable that many of the modules that AF-UK uses don't work properly with the latest versions of IPB. We're moving to new software Migration could take as little as a week but may take up to three weeks. Downtime when the migration happens should be less than 24 hours. The new Classifieds will be more reliable and should have a few extra features when it releases with the new forums. The forums themselves will remain largely unchanged. Some data will be lost, but most will remain Although all of your accounts and posts will be retained, many items such as feedback and current classifieds listings will be wiped. Please use the next week or so to save any data that you may need as nothing is guaranteed given the age of the AF-UK database. There is still a small possibility that a full forum wipe will need to take place, but this is very unlikely.1 point -

Without changing a few parts there is only so much you can do. Surely a complete gearbox cleanup, (proper) reshim and relube will help with sound, rate of fire and general consistency but it's marginal. A better hop rubber will allow you to use heavier BBs like 0.28s and experience a significant gain in range and spread over say a 0.20g. Please consider that most of the times the stock internal parts aren't meant for performance but rather to give a useable product for the lowest manufacturing cost possible.1 point

Yes, Book it in for a service with a good gun tech and they will shim, clean and grease the gearbox. A hop rubber and nub and it will improve your shot consistency and quiet the gun down. Should be possible for around £50.1 point

I suppose the first question is what don't you like about the way it currently shoots? In my small collection I have 2 of the same gun one has been upgraded, one is standard. The upgraded gun has Extended tightbore barrel (covered by a suppressor) - Slightly more power, slightly better accuracy 4uantum hop rubber and nub - Again more accuracy and consistency Gate Aster Mosfet - Mostly for trigger response if I am honest but also more programming and set up options and pre cocking Brushless motor - Slightly faster rate of fire, less electricity used per shot Upgraded cylinder - more consistency and tuned for the barrel length Shimmed to within an inch of its life - makes it quieter and a lot smoother The standard gun (bought used as a spare) is standard apart from the hop rubber and nub. You can tell the difference if you shoot them back to back, the unmodified gun is just a bit cruder, noisier, a little more inconstant, has a slower trigger response and uses more battery power but I am happy to use either gun as individually they behave very much the same. So question is what do you want that your current gun doesn't give you?1 point

Migration is happening middle of next week (Tuesday through Thursday). The old forums will be made accessible in a read only mode for a few weeks afterwards, but again the plan is to move as much data as possible anyway. For the avoidance of doubt: accounts and posts will carry over as well as any existing threads, but probably nothing else. You will be able to log into your existing account as normal.1 point
