  1. Not strictly on-topic either, but I've had another AliExpress order that looks like it's not even going to make it out of Chinaland. First a stock, now an M4 pistol grip, I'm starting to think that they're blocking assault-toy related parts at source rather than letting HMRC / Border Force have all the fun. I've had plenty of fans, motors, switches and such make it through without problems in the meantime.
  2. EFA. BBgunz4u style sites are just dodgy market stalls with a web front end. CYMAs are fine, you can upgrade that gradually and end up with something as good or better than a Nobrich product, for less. Granted, the trigger on the SSG-10 looks like a smart idea, but everything else is just somebody else's internals put together, and you can put things together, right?
  3. Mmm, indeed. I don't mind honest advertising, and if it's some ex Royal Marine or similar who's actually an airsofter doing it mostly for a laugh, that's another thing. But I'm thinking of one weekend in particular that was advertised as featuring training by an ex-SAS member, then you'd camp out and listen to his riveting tales of derring do. When I asked how they'd established the identity of someone who isn't supposed to identify himself, who can't be verified, and why he would be blabbing operational details, the advertising got quietly amended to "ex military". Even at that, I'd wonder. Still, we do this for fun, and if you enjoy the experience, it's all good. Another thing to consider is asking your local site if you could rent it out on an off-day for your team, specifically to practice tactics and set-situations against the marshals. They might enjoy that as well.
  4. A more suspicious person would wonder at a new account bigging up a retailer as their first post. Not me though, I trust everything that I read online without question.
  5. Random aside, does anyone know if UK army surplus waterproof trousers/overtrousers typically advertised as "goretex" are actually Gore Tex(tm) lined?

Fair enough.  I ask because my surplus boots do actually have a GoreTex label, and I'm coming round to the  ritual belief that "Gore Tex" and "waterproof" are synonymous, and if it don't have the label, it don't have the magic.

That said, I'm far too cheap to drop hundreds on actual branded gear, so will take a punt on the "MVP" sweat-pants anyway. ;)

Surplus US ECWCS stuff is legit GoreTexTM but it's a bit pricier than the Brit gear and more likely to be used. Modeern Brit gear moved away from Gore products (for cost reasons I dare say) but the MVP stuff is just as good.

It's fine for motorcycle use so should be fine for airsoft, whatever the actual material.

Dutch Seetex is amazing.  My jacket has been totally waterproof for 20+ years, although the camo pattern is now extremely faded.  The elbow pads even survived a low speed tumble.

  6. Room clearing drill: pull, throw. Frag self, get mediced, repeat. The issue I have with these courses is: who's training you, and are they training you to play airsoft against rental chavs, or to murderise insurgents up a treat (and then you get rinsed by rental chavs). I've seen a few of these advertised on Failbook, typically promoted as being run by an ex-Delta Special Ranger SAS Force Operator. When I've asked how they've established said person's bona fides to be sure that they're not just some grifting Walt, it's been crickets, blocking, or the claim suddenly alters.
  7. Good to hear, but actually giving them licences is in the clammy hands of the civil servants.
  8. Because the DVLA stopped doing all commercial tests for 3 weeks to help flatten the curve, 79 weeks ago. People have paid for training and are gagging to get started, but can't get their piece of paper. Oh, and now the examiners are going on strike after being asked to do more tests per day to deal with the backlog. Despite, not because of.
  9. God trying to smite a P90 owner, but He was probably drunk.
  10. Most things on an airsoft gun are an easy fix, after you've spent hours and hours trying all the fixes that don't work, and are lucky enough to stumble on the one that does, if you don't run out of parts to modify. So I've been "assured". Well, kudos to him for being that honest, I'm sure he won't make that mistake again.
  11. Sorry to hear that, but I'm glad that you got your money back eventually. I mean, I sympathise with TG, it's not their fault. But it's even less your fault, it's the jobsworths at Border Farce and HMRC being awkward buggers for the sake of it. Trade happens despite governments, not because of them. It's understandable why EU sellers have given up on individual orders now, and the ones that haven't will likely follow along soon enough once they've had a few chargebacks.
  12. That does actually seem like pretty good going.
  13. I assume anything being sold second hand and remotely is for spares/repair anyway.
  14. Sadly, nobody really cares, except the (hypothetical) unethical trader's creditors. As per... another... thread, I worked for a company that folded and phoenixed three times before finally going under. Administrators were brought in to fatten themselves on the last of the meat from its bones, and it was completely apparent that the director had been at it from day 1 ("loaning" himself money from the business accounts to buy property), but no action was taken against him and he wasn't even barred from directing. Not that it would have stopped him anyway, he had a string of handy George-Paul-Ringo brothers-in-law standing ready to be his catspaws.
  15. From the lack of eyepro I'd hope there's no actual BBs in there and it's dry firing and triggering (or not) off of the gas. Might be wrong.
  16. It's a commendably detailed and apparently honest advert, I can dig it. On the other hand, I get a nosebleed even thinking about paying that much for a sub 0.6J wall hanger.
  17. If I were unethical, I'd book profits to my sole trader account, and sink expenses into the limited company with the intention of folding it (again). I'm sure that doesn't describe anyone being discussed here though.
  18. It's fuckin' what? Awesome? Awful? Degenerate? Y U NO EYEPRO? I can see the 14mm CCW units on eBay for under £50, but anything that's claiming 8 days for delivery from "London, UK" really means "Whang Dong, Glorious People's Republic of China". At that point you just to to AliExpress and pay less for more honesty. Hmm, under £40 delivered... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001500366671.html
  19. Just a second, the box art shows the "ghost" version, but the unit is the "TREYTECH". Gadzooks, are they in fact the same unit! How can this be! (and so on, and so forth). Well, if they all work about as well, I reckon I'll bag one of those two then, as the native 14mm CCW end cap will keep the profile down. Cheers, chaps.
  20. If the claim has no substance to it, then they've been pulled for completely unrelated reasons, and so George-Paul-Ringo would have no quantifiable loss, or cause of action. Unless there is substance to the claim. In which case... he'd have no cause of action.
  21. A data point! Thanks, that's handy. The only reason I haven't already crushed the buy button is that it's natively 11mm CW with a 14mm CCW adaptor, but is going on an R17 with a weird 12mm CW thread that I've already had to convert to 14mm CCW.
  22. Mmm, I have a concern about some teams or squads who are more into the brotherhood-of-bros, dress-up, socialising or LARPing aspects, rather than just playing airsoft. And it's great when the folk who aren't really there to play airsoft pack up and push off in the afternoon, I find the games tend to get more fun. Of course, not all teams. If you're reading this, I'm almost certainly not referring to you.
  23. That's my assumption, but someone may wish to rave or rant about one or the other. I guess: "Which one will be easiest to get replaced when it breaks" is also a valid question.
  24. "5KU": https://airsoftdirect.uk.com/uncategorised/5ku-spitfire-tracer-unit-11mm-cw-14mm-ccw-adapter/ "Ghost": https://www.dkarmaments.co.uk/product/ghost-spitfire-pro-tracer-unit-14mm-ccw/ "Made In China II" "TREYTECH": https://www.amazon.co.uk/TREYTECH-Simulated-Spitfire-Tactical-Automatic/dp/B09DXPCSL8 Any views on whether these are equivalent / clones, or whether there's a brand to go for or avoid, or anything better available (that's actually available)?
  25. Halp misters, can anyone point me at MP5K butt plate push pins, or the right magic phrase to find equivalent pins from a generic supplier?

Sorry, I should have said "In the UK, and for less than £10 delivered for a pennies part." ;)

I had a M6 x 30mm clevis pin in there replacing the original, but that's whanged off somewhere too.  At £1.80 for another pair, I'll likely go that route again unless I can find the magic phrase to describe the proper take-down pins and buy one for around that money.

Morning Roger. I have some spare ones you could have. I ordered some VFC pins recently for my gbbr mp5 but I only needed the long pin and not the 2x short ones. I've tested these on my JG mp5k and they do fit - they are about 0.5mm longer than the ones that came with the JG and they are a snug fit.

Yours for £5 all in if you want them.
