  1. Very true, & regarding "buyer beware", I wonder how many buyers that get scammed, primarily on here as it's probably the busiest UK forum, are the types who just sign up for the classifieds access, without reading other threads, in particular the horror stories & warnings regarding scams & sending money ?. One might argue that those are the people that bring it on themselves, & are technically the "enablers" that the scammers rely upon ?.
  2. Don't get me wrong, anything that deters them I agree with, but we've seen so many different attempts, regular appearing sales threads, wanted ads being targeted, & even people introducing themselves & engaging in very public chit chat in an apparent attempt to integrate & appear trustworthy, before making their scam attempts. & let's not forget the sob stories, "my friend/brother/son is sick or has passed away unexpectedly, I've got all this stuff here & I don't know what it's worth but there's bills to pay", all in the knowledge that there'll be someone who'll throw caution to the wind to get a quick bargain. Membership approval (maybe the demi mods can help filter those ?), blanket bans on certain countries or regions, & post limits before access to classifieds is granted all sound viable.
  3. But surely anybody can say whatever like in an introduction thread, pretty sure it wont be like: "Gor blimey guvnor, an introduction thread, you've got me bang to rights & no mistake"
  4. Naah, they're very nice, just not enough of them to call it an addiction YET ? (Give it time?)
  5. Yep a decent test ride is the plan, what is stupid is the number of dealerships that DONT have test ride bikes, about 10 years ago I considered a GS1200, nearest dealer didn't have a test bike, so I said "fine, what about that secondhand one your selling ?" Dealer replies "your not getting it, the GS is our top selling bike, we don't need to offer test rides" My reply meant I wasn't welcomed back there?
  6. Blimey, he's in to everything, so many hobbies?, he's clearly single lol. Seriously though, how on earth do you combat this ?, vpn's mean you can't hope to ip block, I'm guessing those aren't solely uk forums, so does it go back to blocking new members from certain countries or regions ?
  7. Any NC750X DCT owners on here ?, I'm actually tempted by the auto gearbox & apparent frugal fuel consumption, just don't trust reviews on sites run & edited by freebie loving journos etc?
  8. While i love TM kit above anything else, if i was looking for a full metal variant, I'd rate KJW stuff way above the the likes of WE etc.
  9. @Martinjjx, you're becoming a bit of a nuisance ?, say bye?
  10. Unfortunately he'll be back with a new name, I wish we had a more permanent option ??
  11. Welcome Fafor, To be honest, your probably better off buying in the cheaper ranges, but that doesn't mean it'll be rubbish, far from it in fact, brands like cyma & JG have great reputations, big ranges to choose from, & luckily for you some excellent retailers virtually on your doorstep. With your budget why not buy 2, everyone needs a back up, & don't be thinking about upgrades yet, most brands are more than adequate straight out of the box, if fps/range/accuracy is fair to good, then what more do you need, maybe then only think about upgrades if something breaks. Next choice is what models to choose, I always that think 2 with magazine compatibility should be considered, makes life much easier if you find yourself dashing back to the safezone mid game to swap guns, but if AK's are your thing you might feel a little bit limited, to me they all look alike lol, so maybe consider a long model & a short model, gives better options for cqb sites etc. Alternatively consider an armalite model, m4 derivative of which there are hundreds (or so it would seem), but being stanag mags you could get another m4 model, or maybe consider a bullpup such as an L85, a tavor, an fn2000/fn2010, an fnc, a G36 with a maxwell conversion, probably even more that I've forgotten about, the choices are endless. Good luck with what you choose.
  12. @Jimmydxty is gone, good riddance ?
  13. Not so much panic, more extreme sadness?
  14. Asking a buyer to cover the paypal fees.
  15. I've never lubed a hop rubber with silicon.......... BUT While cleaning & lubing the slide on one of my tm hi-capa's, I was a little generous with the lube, & unbeknown to me wet a rubber "ring" at the rear of the slide, couple of days later at a skirmish the pistol wouldn't cycle, later on closer inspection I could see that the "ring", which I think was some sort of buffer, had swollen, preventing the slide from returning to the forward position. I haven't watched the above video yet, but I can only talk from my own experience, hence why I'd be cynical about getting it near the hop, I've sorted plenty of leaky gas mags with it.
  16. Let's hope that the hop rubber didn't get too wet, the silicon spray could cause the rubber to swell, making it overtop or even non functional.

  21. Do you only have 1 gun ? If that's the case, I'd say buy yourself a second gun, maybe consider another aeg that has magazine compatability with your sa-07, that way one can always back up the other. Also, with regards to upgrades, I'm gonna assume that if your sa-07 has been your sole primary for five years, that's it's probably in stock form ?, as generally stock guns have better reliability, often when players start "upgrading" their guns, that's when the problems start.
  22. Like many here, been a member of many good forums, most of which died a slow painful death when fb came along & most airsoft sites switched to an essentially free medium that was (then) easier to update, but then fb uk became part of the "nanny state" & changed all the rules pertaining to airsoft etc, which in turn wasn't helped by the average low iq fb user not being able to grasp the new restrictions, so pages started getting clobbered & disappearing, some might say not necessarily a bad thing. Now we've got players returning to the forums in droves, again, some are good to have, & some are a pita asking questions that have been asked, & answered, hundreds of times before (& can usually be found via the search fuction) Thankfully, most of the time, the quality of the longstanding members here shines through, as does their patience in helping these new members. In fact this thread is a great example of that, how many times have we had either new members, or longtime lurkers, pop up with a brainwave that's gonna revolutionise some aspect of airsoft, whether it's the mediums we surf to glean info, the kit we use to play the game, or some kinda new angle on how a site is designed & run, & within reason, sometimes through gritted teeth?, we humour whatever wannabe entrepreneur that's fielding their ideas. End of the day though, when you break it down, it's a physical game, that relies on physical equipment & the KISS approach, anything else is wasted on some players, & the remainder probably don't have the time or patience to embrace something that's over conceptualised. @Bo B not a dig at you, your trying to field an idea, just the reality of getting new ideas off the ground can be a long & often fruitless journey.
