Opinions please. I have a clone Ashbury ASW338LM bolt action 'sniper'. No markings, VSR compatable-ish, plastic picatinny rails over a carbon fibre effect forend, fully adjustable folding stock with a monopod, heavy metal body, looks the business. Its the one that was in the boneyard for a few days. Has problems - slam firing and misfeeding. It's not working irritated me enough that I decided to dismantle and fix it - changing out a worn VSR sear being a not uncommon fix π and if I've got it dismantled enough that I can get at the trigger group I should be able to see what the feeding issue is too. About 30(!) bolts and screws later I've got the thing apart. Faults obvious - the afore mentioned sear and a hop unit with both a duff rubber and a very broken hop adjustment armature. Now, I have most if not all of the bits necessary to fix it, could even upgrade some parts as I go eg steel sear, stainless steel inner etc. But, if I fix and reassemble it, at the end of the day(s) I'll still have a clone Ashbury ASW338LM springer, with no markings, which I don't want, I'll never use, and isn't worth very much. Am I falling into the 'polishing a t**d' trap? and would do better selling on the parts, rather than a heavy, not as good as a real VSR, compatable-ish Ashbury RIF? TL:DR is it actually worthwhile repairing it?

Originally this was a solid resin casting of an X26 Tazer, as used by HM Police, obtained from Etsy. (Its not a very good quality casting or paint job btw!) I bought it from a guy who was emigrating. Eventually I got around to modifying and hollowing out parts of it, so that my virtually unused little 24 BB lancher could fit into it. On red gas it will nearly send the shower out to about 5 metres, if you angle it up enough with the wind behind you π. If you are able to sneak up on one, the look on the face of a player who hasn't seen it before when you shout 'Tazer! Tazer! Tazer!' at them, just before giving them a low velocity bb shower is priceless! π I'm not really mobile enough to get the drop on someone any more, and like most BB launchers the range is pretty poor, so its time to pass it on. Someone with a Police or Security services build should be able to have a lot of fun with this πIt comes with the two holsters pictured. A Taser is classed as a firearm and this is a realistic imitation, so the VCRA applies and a defence like UKARA is required before I will sell it to you. So if you don't have an easily verifiable defence please don't waste your time. Offers over Β£55.00 incluing p&p the lot. UK only and Paypal only. 20250913_132443.mp455.00 GBP

Ticked the box on the first few I listed. Have stopped doing so now.
-
Um -ish. I removed one advert after a user with a good feedback rating, told me he has a UKARA number, then blanked me when I asked for it. Might be ill or have a familly emergency of course, but after 4 days my paranoia stepped in π. Another was from what I very strongly suspect was a child, via email rather than through the Forum, so I pulled that ad. too. But yeah I can nearly get to the door again nowπ

About 5 Kilograms of used MP5 parts. There is a mostly complete, repainted, ex two tone blue MP5 empty shell in the box, along with most of a MP5 gearbox, selectors and cams, pistol grip sections and forends along with a smattering of other bits and pieces . All of the parts are used, so all will show wear and tear, some will be damaged or faulty or incomplete and only useful as donor bits for other projects. Β£25.00 the lot. UK only and Paypal only.25.00 GBP

About 8 Kilograms of used G36 parts. These are empty shells for the most part. The most complete is an S&T that I slotted together for the pictures - disassembled again for packing. The S&T forend, rail and folding stock are ex blue two tone repainted black. There are two S&T Gearbox shells and some internal parts and a standard V3 gearbox shell. The other bodies are a Classic army, an unmarked clone and a real antique airsoft wise, a Star!π. There are some other parts in the loose parts box (pic. 2) - Selector parts, a hop unit and rubber, screws etc. The S&T, quick spring change, gearboxes have some additional cutouts and parts related to EBB and anti reversal latch release (ease springs! π), though there is no use for either on this version, so some of the additional bits are not with it. All of the parts are used, so all will show wear and tear, some will be damaged or faulty or incomplete and only useful as donor bits for other projects. Β£50.00 the lot. UK only and Paypal only.50.00 GBP

~15cm. It was with the one below it in the pic.
-
It was sat inside the handguard attached to to the plastic TM RIF.
-
That was my first thought too!
-
Slightly too long for the handguard it was sat inπI'll try to remember to measure it tomorrow. But why bother to laser engrave a part that will never be seen? Slightly bigger pic. below. Forgot to mention it wasn't screwed down to anything, just lying loose.
-
Thoughts of the collective airsoft brain please. While sorting out the M4 bits to list in the classsifieds I happened to notice markings on what I thought was just a thin aluminium sheet inside one of the handguards - see pic. below. Now I can't imagine how a real steel part like this would end up in a pile of airsoft parts, but I also can't imagine and airsoft manufacturer going to the time, effort and presumably licence requirements to engrave this on an item that will basically never be seen! In the words of the immortal Manuel, 'Que?'

Thats probably the most impressive Airsoft collection I've ever seen! Side note question - In the course of the work on your WE Browning Hi-Power pistols, was anything done to make them work properly? I sometimes use a 'good enough for airsoft' Brit Cold War era loadout - 58 pattern webbing, SLR(s), my EM-2 prototype, SMG and the cursed, utterly unreliable WE Hi-Power!

(I did search before posting and am surprised no one has asked before) Wouldn't it be a good idea to add an Auction section in the Classifieds? for people like myself who have boxfulls of stuff to move on. Or would it be too difficlt to integrate it with the site?

How should I move on multiple Boxes of used Rif's and Parts?
MSSNAFU replied to MSSNAFU's topic in General Help
If anyone's wondering, I am waiting on some more new boxes before listing - many bits too long and overall packages too heavy to send through the post as it is, and I'll need to split a few types into multiple packages to be managable. -

Sadly unable to do this (or similar) due to ongoing health problems.π -
Hi Can't help much as I don't know the L85 of any make and I can't see the video, but what caught my attention was you say its been used as a prop for 8 years? I have a type 97 bullpup that had been used as a stage prop for years, and its original hop rubber was apparently natural rubber which had literally rotted inside it. I'll let you imagine what it smelt like! π so I would check the hop unit especially the hop rubber itself and the nub as it may be perished or perhaps distorted by being left set that long, which obviously could easily interfere with BB's feeding. Also, probably stating the obvious again, but has the inner barrel been cleaned? My Type 97 had its own little ecology inside when I got it! It still suprises me after xxxx years airsofting π how little dirt/residue/dust in the barrel can cause feeding issues and jams. Also, has the mag been unused for years too? if so its well worth checking that for dust/dirt etc too, and if itsa midcap thats been left with some BB's in it the spring may well be weakened as you describe. Trying with other mags would show if the mag is the problem. Sorry for being so non specific and vague. Best of luck with it.

Arrrgghhh! Trying to clear enough space to take some photo's and found another boxfull of bits - EBR/M14, m249 main body and a Scar(?) upper in desperate need of paintstripper! (My son has a 1903, might even be the same make but I don't think he has any spares for it)
