  1. I have used these which are firmly "ok", they are let down by the molle strap with the push button - the strap is slightly too long, and because its a push button not one you keep threading through does mean it dangles a bit and sits offset from whatever you mount it to... a small thing but is annoying as timed bfgs are a bit heavy. https://www.flecktarn.co.uk/sdtop4nx.html I also used the HW holsters which are great at what they are supposed to, though ultimately I don't think they are well suited to anything outdoors as they can slip out. I think some extra elastic retention would be good for added security. The malice clips also had the same issue as above - maybe i am just being fussy. Finally I came across this: https://thegeardocrow.com/2021/03/18/review-cellar-gear-flashbang-pouches/ I asked Cellar Gear to make me two of these in the form of a dangler that attaches to chest rig/plate carrier. I've attached a picture. I think its pretty cool. As you can see there's some fraying of the stitching which isn't ideal. I think this cost me £45 which is pretty good for a bespoke bit of kit. It was certainly cheaper then when I was window shopping to do the same thing using a molle panel, molle pouches etc. One improvement that could be made is a slot/channel to accommodate the pin whilst letting the grenade sit deeper inside the pouch.
  2. not playing "devils advocate" but depending on the venue I would probably be interested. I've heard the horror stories so rest assured if it was total crap then i've only myself to blame. I get the point about voting with your wallet which is fair but on the other hand there is clearly a market for this. Despite all the bad reviews, people will come back, or in my case, consider going for the first time. Why is it only ai500 securing cool places to play airsoft? Why is no other site operator communicating with developers and landowners? Is that you can only make such events economically viable if you cram as many customers as you can in? Perhaps!
  3. yes very impressed with gunman tuddenham it has now become my "local" - they basically seem to do everything right which is very refreshing. the saturday night game was very good fun though (and feedback was provided so this isn't a totally unproductive moan) i thought our little squad of "the leftovers" was somewhat penalised for playing the objective as we didn't get any contact for 1.5hrs. fine for a 24h "milsim", less so for a 3hr "mini-sim". I wasn't sure if that was because the enemy team had no reason to intersect our path or whether they were just unable to. On the otherhand, its a testament to how fun nodding about at night is as that 1.5hrs went very quickly and felt more like 30 mins, if that.
  4. just to chime in. I have an unbranded t1 micro from ali and a 2nd hand pts eotech style one. Only difference apart from trades is the former has a more matte finish then the pts version. I personally don't care about either of those things. They are different products ofc so ymmv. I'd get one on offa Ali unless you need it next weekend, you'll save a substantial amount of money.
  5. Kicking Mustang did WHAT!?
  6. I have one, I think they are pretty good if you are wearing a balaclava of course. The metal is quite flexible so you can smush it to fit your face....ymmv of course. The downside is that for me at least it interfered with the chin strap on my helmet which was basically unacceptable. I ended up cutting it down into a kinda orange peel shape so it just protects my teeth.
  7. This set off a bit of a walk down memory lane for me. I was playing at spec ops before it became spec ops - at the time mr spec ops ran the games at Ground Zero and spec ops was an invite only all day long proto-battlesim type thing. No hicaps seemed like such a big deal then and I spent loads of money on TM standard mags cause it was either them or the Star "realcaps". Mad to think midcaps weren't invented yet. Fond memories of ruining my jetboil by using it to make pepperami instant noodles. I also helped build some of the first structures there. I also lost my USP on its first game which sucked but a guy cheered me up by doing a peter griffin impression. This must of been in 2006-7 or so. Funny to know they still do hotdogs and chilli con carne as that was the menu all those years ago. I went again I think 2014 or so hoping to meet aforementioned mr spec ops but he wasn't there rip. There were rumours that there were abandoned houses out in the woods, there was also a supposed sighting of the "beast of bloxworth" and also during a night game, a ufo. We never did come across any of these houses but I note that the site down the road does have one. So maybe there was a beast of bloxworth after all...
  8. I had the same thing as Alvin and it was totally fine (short version I pretty much answered no or n/a to every question which didn't specify parts) There is a question whereby if you put "yes" to RIF parts, they want you to "confirm the use of the RIF as above" - I did mark the question as "yes" but did not confirm the use of the RIF "as above" cause.. it's not a RIF. I may be paranoid but I'd encourage anyone who has this form for parts to not include anything vaguely "ukara-ry" or "defency", just in case they start demanding ukara or whatever for just parts. I still have a copy so if you want to take a look let me know and I can ping it over.
  9. They are a novelty gun for sure but quite fun, so fun that at one point in time i had 2. Downsides: - Only one of the 3 barrel has hop applied vertically. After mine broke I sent it for repairs and whilst it was in, had the hop modded so all 3 barrels have vertical hop and a heavier spring in there to take it to whatever 250fps with .2g is to 1j. After that, I used .28s - As above, I can't honestly claim them to be reliable guns. Mine has broken twice, each instance a gearbox jam. The first occasion was caused by bb's getting jammed, the second occasion I don't know...as I haven't gotten it fixed yet! - I didn't have a great experience with the drum mag, it would fail to feed too often and sapped the fun o meter. I used it maybe twice and then switched to carrying (lots) of standard mags, which hold 90 or so bbs which, quick maths, gives you 30 shots which is far from ideal. gbbr people can say what they want but i haven't heard anyone using "realcaps" in a "normal" aeg in well over a decade - I should note that at the time i was using blaster bb's or whatever, I don;t use them anymore for other reasons but this contributed to me becoming a bit of a geoffs fundamentalist - the rear sling mount is a real weak point. look for a "full stock sling adapter" if you want to sling
  10. Couldn't find anything about them before I ordered. Anyway, for the sake of search engines and all that: I did order from them, my order was shipped quickly and it took 7 working days to get from Poland to the UK. Not bad, really. I'd use them again. I can't comment on how they'd handle something going wrong but in any case everything went right.
  11. Massive caveat that this is pure "grapevine" but I have heard similar things for a while now to the point that when I came to acquire some weighted plates I assumed they were essentially out of business and went to tridentgearco instead. if you want something heavier than trident's 4.2kg a pair set then you could maybe look at : https://www.hr4k.co.uk/products/hr4k-plates
  12. Had the pleasure of meeting @DrAlexanderTobacco at a milsim. He was surprisingly down to earth, and VERY funny.

@Tactical Pith Helmet sorry for the late reply. picture the scene: its lunch time at whatever airsoft site. numbers are minimal due to the obvious clash in schedules and only the legends have appeared. you produce a wicker picnic box from your boot, containing 1) a thermos of soup 2) a pork pie and piccalili sandwich 3) a stilton sandwich 4) just the right amount of sloe gin to ensure you are safe to drive come the end of the game. it is fucking brilliant. you get home and watch worlds strongest man on channel 5 eating liquor chocolates. alas, airsoft sites have conned me out of this future, and for that i will not forgive them. george

  16. Maybe not the answer you were looking for but whatever. I played a game at Camp Sparta, but hosted by Brit Tac. One of the best day's airsofting I ever had. They have a 10 hour "battlesim" coming up next month which may be worth investigating: https://www.brittacevents.com/event-details/op-red-wings-10-hour-event-camp-sparta You get to play at Camp Sparta (which is absolutely amazing) and I can vouch for the great day Brit Tac put on. You also get a longer day, which takes the sting out of a longer drive (3hrs in my case) I can't vouch for how Camp Sparta actually run things. Though I have to disagree with the comments made above about smoke inside buildings (I thought it was cool) and people using respirators (fair play, i also consider this to be cool). "don't be a dick" is a nice enough thing to say but not actually a very useful one as clearly people have different ideas about what constitutes being a dick. Hence why its good to have unambiguous rules. In this case, the rules unambiguously allow the use of smokes indoors. So bring your smokes. Bring a respirator if you have one too
  17. This is something I kinda put together. I wanted to combine what I like about plate carriers (elastic cummberbunds instead of straps, and after market support) with what i like about chest rigs (they don't need to have plates in them). In the photo I have it set up for use with my LMG so I have two box mags in the front. If I want to switch to the M4, then I clip in the other bit to the side there. Its still a WIP but I think the proof of concept is there. Bullgear hydro bag Viper elastic cummberbund Panda tac GMR-style 40mm bandolier Viper mini chest rig with FMA kydex insert and viper elastic inserts + cellargear dangler for timed bfgs MCx custom gear GMR-style minimap + hw holsters timed bfg holsters Some velcro back pads I got off ali (forget the name)
  18. Thought I'd chip in: I had my first game since October at the start of June with an evening game at South Coast CQB. I think this might my favourite site and the closest I've got to a "regular". Venue aside (it should really be called South Coast Urban or something) it really has got a nice atmosphere to it, the sportsmanship from the players was 10/10 and small things like free bottled water go a long way. I shot lots of bb's, even hit a few people and had a tough time getting to sleep afterwards such was the buzz. Me and a fellow forumite then visited Apocalypse Airsoft for my first "milsim". First things first: despite being a 50hr+ event it ended after "only" 36 hours as people on the (other!) team got a bit tired/fed up. Our attempt at LARPing as afghan villagers was totally silly and very fun but unfortunately the other team didn't really play ball. And then complained about how it was more of a "skirmish" than a milsim. sometimes you can't win. I try to have the attitude of a good day/ weekend first, a good skirmish/"milsim" second, and it was certainly a good weekend. I managed to rack up 22hrs of straight airsoft and the night time bit was super fun. I put "milsim" in quotes cause I think it can mean everything, but also, at the same time, nothing. But the night time bit really did remind me of my (very, very limited experience of) night time exercises in a good way, even though if I was to write down what went down you might think "that doesn't sound very fun". I suppose you had to be there. I can't help but feel a little bit cheated by the premature ending of the event as I had taken the monday off work to recover. I don't want a refund, but I would like the site to black list the lightweights (sorry!) at least from long events - but that ain't gonna happen! Or maybe just do 24h events as there is no prizes for hosting the longest airsoft event or anything. A month or so later we went up north to Brit Tac's "13 hours" battlesim(??) at Camp Sparta. I think this was the best day of airsoft I had ever had, ever. The numbers on our team were quite low oweing to football drop outs, but I think this was for the best as the 20 or so of us were divided into 3 teams and it all felt quite "tight" with lots of communication and coordinating. I could go on and on about how fun this was. On the downside, I did manage to hurt my ears (lesson learnt about hearing protection) and it took over 2 weeks for them to stop hurting. Edit: I've heard people complain about smoke inside buildings at camp sparta. Personally I thought it was awesome! At one stage i couldn't see my hand in front of me such was the darkness and smog... its a novelty. Finally, I got down to Echelon in Gravesend for their first public game, was umming and ahhin'g about that specific date till i saw there was only one ticket left, so i felt I kinda had to! Very good fun, and i'm very grateful to have some cqb relatively accessible from London - though the turnaround for evening games needs to be much much quicker imo, and just for the sake of expectation management, whilst its very cool playing in a former debenhams, i'm not sure its necessarily a "destination" site in the same way one of the UCAP jails, or The Gaol, or Camp Sparta or SCCQB are. This might sound more negative than I intend, perhaps I've been spoilt a bit with sccqb and camp sparta within a few weeks of each other. I bought some hearing protection with me after last time, and as sods law dictates...there was hardly any bangs. I'm sure people will get more bang happy as they learn the site a bit more though! Next up is my first game with Stirling Airsoft at "the trees" so I'm looking forward to that.
  19. I think they are being tongue in cheek here - neighbours have made a silly complaint which they are gently mocking.
  20. not sure why but i had to urge to buy an SSG10 A3 bundle, an SSR15 basic bundle, and a SSP1 basic bundle. also picked up a £130 helmet/face protection combo from facebook
