  1. So like every AEP I've seen before then
  2. What's your budget roughly? Knowing that will help us make specific recommendations The cheap red dots often have the problem of ghosting, this is where a second dot is visible due to reflections between the glass. If the dot is adjustable lowering the brightness can reduce the effect Anything by Acetech will be good. Alternatively the nuprol trasers are good but they're not as bright and don't have the extra functions Any cheap on from amazon will do the job. It's a sacrificial part so there's no point spending more than necessary I use the pistol mag size ones. No idea on the brand, sorry I know alit of people slag them off but I've never had any problems with nuprol batteries. Their chargers on the other hand I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Alternatively turnigy or vapex
  3. Early reports suggest the rioters did thousands of pounds of improvements
  4. Imo it depends on the site you play at, there's no point in us telling you to zero at a certain range if engagement ranges don't get that far or your gun won't shoot that far. Mine is set for about the 40m mark at the moment. Also it's worth getting into the habit of checking and rezeroing your sight in the morning before a game as knocks from transporting etc can cause the point of aim to shift, especially with the cheaper optics
  5. Good thinking. Trying to get closer to the site limit would be a waste of time as you could easily go over and that extra 6fps will make bugger all difference anyway
  6. By the time a Navy pilot pulled into a little town, every hotel room was taken. "You've got to have a room somewhere," he pleaded. "Or just a bed, I don't care where." "Well, I do have a double room with one occupant, a Marine pilot," admitted the manager, "and he might be glad to split the cost. But to tell you the truth, he snores so loudly that people in adjoining rooms have complained in the past. I'm not sure it'd be worth it to you." "No problem," the tired Navy pilot assured him. "I'll take it." The next morning the Navy Pilot came down to breakfast bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. "How'd you sleep?" Asked the manager. "Never better." The manager was impressed. No problem with the other guy snoring, then?" "Nope, I shut him up in no time." Said the Navy pilot. "How'd you manage that?" asked the manager. "He was already in bed, snoring away, when I came in the room, I went over, gave him a kiss on the cheek, said, 'Goodnight, beautiful,' ...and he sat up all night watching me."
  7. Obviously it depends on how trigger happy you are but I'd be surprised if you went through a whole can in one day I use .2s for cqb as the extra range given using heavier ammo isn't necessary. Probably but that's half the fun of it Playing with a pistol doesn't make you a speed softer it's down to the tactics and kit used. Fortunately many cqb sites are banning things like trigger spamming and prefiring If you can I'd highly recommend picking up 1 or 2 extra mags for the pistol
  8. I wouldn't return it, just give the barrel and hop unit a really good clean, the gun should've come with a cleaning rod and Instructions can be found online. To be honest it's a good idea to clean out the barrel of new guns anyway as they often (especially the clones) come with dirty barrels) This
  9. Welcome. There's quite a few of us old gits here so you'll be in good company to moan about kids today and how bad their music is
  10. A quick Google search shows these go for £260 new so if it was in good condition and wasn't a repainted 2 tone the 70% rule of thumb would put the asking price at £189. Unfortunately though with the issues already mentioned that's going to knock it down further so is say £130 sounds about right
  11. I second the above. When I first started I used a hard gun case and found it attracted too much attention, usually from pissed up idiots thinking they're funny and original asking "what you got in there, a machine gun?". Now I use one of these. It may not be as subtle as a sports bag but it doesn't scream gun as much as a hard case. For example my neighbor thought it was fishing gear when he first saw me coming home from a gameday.
  12. I take it you're stuck using public transport, like me. I've found this site useful for getting to sites 0n public transport. https://www.traveline.info/ Also tbh 30 minutes walk from a station isn't bad, I've done double that in the past. Last, I hope it doesn't ned to be said but when using public transport make sure the guns stay hidden and unloaded with mags stored in a separate pocket
  13. All together now.... There's no such thing as an airsoft or ukara licence. It's frustrating that people are still spreading this misinformation The vcra covers sale imports and manufacturing, not ownership so you'll be fine.
  14. Their Facebook page has events listed too https://www.facebook.com/share/fcM3c6g5d2JzTY4U/
  15. Latest from airsoft world's faceache page Update to G&G LevAR situation: G&G has confirmed there is a problem with the pistol grip design and has tested and replicated the same failure at G&G HQ with the 15" LevAR. They are working on a solution as I type which will rapidly be deployed to all current owners and dealers. For those of you that have not followed yesterdays post, we confirm that ONLY the 15" version has failed in this way. The additional stress forces of the stock being attached to the grip (and possibly the longer upper receiver) is what is causing the grip to crack at the point where the bolt secures the grip to the lower receiver. If the rifle is gassed, the gas pressure then expands the crack, ending in an explosive breakage. In other words, the grip blows off the receiver - pardon the expression. So don't sweat it guys and gals, these things do happen on occasion and in this case, it's being approached with a rapid solution. The positive side of this incident is this was discovered and reported literally hours before the main shipments left the G&G factory, so we have helped to avoid a massive global recall situation, which would have taken far longer to resolve and incurred huge costs. Vive La LevAR! Or whatever ? Hmmm, I feel an airsoft patch coming...
  16. What an absolute bellend. "The extra money on top of the 400 is to cover paypal fee cost AND delivery" Bollocks are paypal fees and delivery costs that high. G&S fees are 2.9% maximum which would be £13.05 so unless postage is £36.95 they're definitely taking the piss. This is before we get to the known fault discussed here https://airsoft-forums.uk/topic/60067-gg-levar-15/ But here we have the reason for the shitty attitude, small man syndrome "I'm only selling because it's a bit too big/long and heavy for me as I'm 4ft9, short arms etc"
  17. To add to my earlier post, the MP7 could be used in a outdoors game but you would need to adjust your playing style to suit. With a gbb you're carrying less ammo (1 M4 high cap is the equivalent capacity of 6 MP7 mags) so you need to pick your shots and avoid getting bogged down exchanging fire with someone who can just hose the area. The times I've done it I found I was most effective staying away from the main battles and using hit and run tactics to attack from unexpected places
  18. There's no universal power limit for all cqb sites but they're all (at least the ones I've played at) between 330 and 350 fps (with a .2) and many have a weight limit, usually .25 but some go up to .28. As with most things it's best to check with the specific site you're going to play at Unfortunately there's no such thing as "one gun to rule them all" and using the same gun for cqb and outdoors will usually end in making compromises between the two. For cqb I often don't bother taking a rifle. I find that no full auto being allowed takes away a big advantage AEGs have and the smaller size of a pistol helps when moving through tight spaces. The pistol (or any gbb) also has the advantage of a faster trigger response, something which is invaluable when targets may only present themselves for fractions of a second
  19. Personal preferences aside I'd say it depends on what you're wanting from the rif. Do you want something which will allow you to put loads of plastic down range and go to to toe against other AEGs in a firefight, or something which is more of a fun gun despite it's limitations? If the former then go for the AEG, if the latter then the MP7. Of course this doesn't take into account the sort of site you play at. If you mainly play cqb then I'd definitely go for the MP7 as the lower magazine capacity isn't such an issue and the shorter length makes moving in tight spaces far easier
  20. Personally I find 99% of the "proper" survival shows unwatchable too. Yes these guys know their stuff but the way they hype up the danger. For example making out they're days walk from anywhere, whereas in reality they're less than a couple of miles from civilisation
  21. This is why I hate those survival shows, the people on them are incompetent attention seekers who struggle if tesco is shut for a day. Take the dippy moo complaining about the effects of dehydration, at least lay down in the shade rather than direct sunlight
  22. This. When I worked for asda I was told a happy customer will tell 1 person while an unhappy customer will tell 10. Also unfortunately a lot of the information given is what the person heard from their mate's cousin's neighbour's uncle and are blindly repeating it without knowing how true it is
  23. Considering you don't know what this platform will offer, whether it's anything different or the same as what's already out there, makes this whole idea look like you don't have a clue about what you' want this new platf, hence the reason you dont have people lining up to pat you on the back and tell you what a great job you're doing. Oh, and loose the passive aggressive attitude. It just makes you come across as a petulant child who can't stand being told no
