  1. It's not just the parts with diminishing returns higher than Danniella Westbrook on Colombian flake that put me off, there's also the hideous colours for the slide and/or grip that look like somebody committed an unholy act on a unicorn.
  2. I couldn't agree more about doing rental first or borrowing from your stepson if possible. Getting a two-tone before waiting to get a UKARA defence is arguably worse in the long term whether you decide you really enjoy it and decide to get another gun or if you decide airsoft is not for you. Two-tone depreciates a lot more than a RIF because it has little demand from those who can buy the latter. Even if you paint over or remove the bright colour from a two-tone (technically illegal but I'm not aware of any prosecutions), it'll still be considered less desirable and fetch less as you try reselling it. As EDcase alluded too, there are too many cases where we've had to tell people the harsh reality that they'll have to eat up a big loss to shift any two-tone guns they're reselling.
  3. Sellers who swap original furniture (stock, grip, handguard, etc) on their gun for third-party then list the gun for sale without the originals but charge based on depreciation of the complete original gun and the new furniture.
  4. That's going on the "what grinds your gears" thread. I've already asked about the handguard. ?
  5. Is it the semi-auto function or the fact that it's CO2 powered that draws you to it in particular or the looks? If it's only the looks, Golden Eagle does some M870-based tri-shot gas shotguns with a swappable buttstock and the handguard is something you can work with as a lot of the models have M-LOK.
  6. Pointing out the new hammer is helpful as they are known to break but I wonder why the seller thought it was smarter to push some sensationalist tabloid nonsense in the title instead of something useful like "Combat Master" and whether it's the EMG or Jag Precision version or an unlicensed brand using the markings, the latter of which may be to conceal the actual value.
  7. Welcome! Glad to see more people join the (albeit very fun) money pit.
  8. I'd say about £80 for the shotgun bundle. For the Quake 8 bundle, I'd say around £70-80.
  9. Is it not better to get the gun first to confirm the muzzle energy or is this a used gun that has been chrono tested? I assume you're talking about the NGRS version of the M4 CQBR and not the GBBR or are you talking about the buffer spring with a GBBR? What's the context of a "cheaper alternative"? Adjusting your fps or a less expensive gun itself? You don't need to give War and Peace but it really helps when you're more forthcoming and transparent with details.
  10. I don't suppose you tried WGC Shop or SIXmm?
  11. SOCOM Tactical has the Tak Tak clones of the CTR stock.
  12. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/39939-airsoft-bundle Seller wants £3,500 for a job lot but provides only a single picture and a handful of details.
  13. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/polarstar-powered_1/m4-hpa-tippman-and-a-double-bell-daracys-dragon_i83182 Seller has a Dracarys but it's in parts and he just posts a a retail listing from his phone instead of a photo of the parts he's selling. Does he not think reassembling the gun gives him a better chance of selling or trading it?

"for filming purpose in UK" Are you a part of a UK TV/film production company?
  15. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/39880-nupal-pioneer Not a Nuprol, not a Nurpol but a Nupal. The seller wants £120 for a used two-tone where you can buy the arguably more desirable RIF for the same money, possibly less. Also a classic bait-and-switch with the seller posting photos of the gun kitted up with a foregrip and holo sight only to disclose in the description that they're extra.
  16. I was gentle on him as he was less than forthcoming initially about the engravings and damage he'd mentioned. It was a single image at first that showed neither.
  17. Same guy but he not only originally tried flogging it for £500, he misidentified it as Ares originally as well. He claimed to have video proof of it working in the past.
  18. A "fully upgraded" DE Honey Badger that was marked down from £500 to £300 is now boneyard at £120 with a reported electrical fault. https://prefired.co.uk/ads/broken-upgraded-honey-badger/ If you spend just £40 more, you can get a brand new working original with none of the internals being tinkered around with and without that horrible paintjob. https://shop.super5ives.com/shop/item/133397/double-eagle-m904g.html
  19. For the sake of clarity, can you confirm which gun you are talking about? Are you talking about the TM 416 DEVGRU NGRS or another RIF that has DEVGRU in its name? One troubleshooting tip is checking the compression in your cylinder - if you put your thumb over the nozzle while pressing the piston into the cylinder, a sign of good compression is that you will eventually get resistance against pushing the piston. If you get no resistance and you piston goes all the way down despite your thumb being in place over the nozzle, you've likely got a compromised seal, which would explain why your muzzle energy is much lower than expected with an M100 spring. Your piston head and/or its O-rings may be the culprit is your compression is poor.
  20. [Name redacted], unless they've seen sense over the past year.
  21. What feature do you think your current one is lacking that you need to upgrade it?
  22. Jesus wept. RIFT Airsoft sold its working ex-rental guns for ~£60 at the end of May. The ones with faults went for £20 less or so. If memory serves, there were some basic Specna Arms M4s and G&G Raiders.
  23. Taking it personally is a good way to lose perspective. I too have found some bargains there but it would be negligent to deny that there are lots of rip-off merchants, try-hards and people clueless to economics of selling airsoft on that site. Yeah, that's probably true. He didn't name any of the brands so that's probably to prevent you from working out what the kit is actually worth. He hasn't even bothered listing the sizing of the shirt & trousers.
