  1. I hear what you're saying but £70 for a "real steel" piece of kit? It's really not much when you look at what you get. Granted the needs of airsofters aren't really up there with actual soldiers so maybe some of us need to lower our sights in terms of how gucci the kit needs to be?
  2. Ahem...
  3. Really? Only ever seen it with the Surefire X300 on it. Nothing on IMFDB either. I know Kono has used a pistol with crimson trace handgrips though (most likely a S&W M&P9).
  4. I thought that and assumed they'd used the wrong picture. Patrol Base are good though.
  5. Ta Dah! http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?products_id=2089 or in Tan: http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft/ares-g36c-ecu-2rnd-burst-version-tan.htm#.VhPlNPlViko and again in black: http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft-g36-variants/ares-g36c-ecu-2rnd-burst-version---black.htm#.VhPlePlViko Note - this IS the same gun (the listing on Evike plainly states that it's the Ares OEM version). The Umarex version will have trades as they hold the licence to put them on but this is the same gun nonetheless.
  6. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch....
  7. If you've not seen the new Warrior Assault Systems Gunfighter belt it looks pretty good from a customisation point of view: http://www.uktactical.com/p-11533-gunfighter-belt-coyote-tan.aspx
  8. I wondered that but I didn't think they had those mahoosive shoulder buckles?
  9. Thinking of kicking off a SWAT style black loadout and having been watching a lot of Hawai'i Five-0 lately I wondered if anyone could ID the vest McGarrett is wearing here:
  10. Also worth making sure the inside of your lenses are spotlessly clean. The dirtier they are, the more likely they are to fog up.
  11. You can get them direct from the MTEK webpage or I believe they also have an Ebay store. They are designed to fit a MICH style helmet though so bear that in mind.
  12. Ta-dah! http://ferroconcepts.com/collections/slings/products/lw-mops-molle-one-point-sling-1 I have that exact sling on MY 901 with back panel. Works a treat. From here: http://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/ferro-concepts---molle-one-point-sling-16082-p.asp
  13. I looked into both (basically being a massive WAS fanboy) and chose the Condor Gen 2 belt. The main reason being the condor has the flaps (fnarr) you can lift up to attach any droplegs to the actual belt instead of the MOLLE. Reason being that while I don't like the standard drop leg that rides somewhere near a teenagers knee I do prefer a lower riding holster so my chest rig doesn't interfere with my draw (I use a Safariland style holster with a Safariland dropflex adaptor to lower it by about 4" from my belt). I do have a WAS yoke set that works absolutely fine with the Condor belt too so I have the options.
  14. Hope you have deep pockets...
  15. The problem with masking off trades is that they'll inevitably end up looking a bit rubbish. If you REALLY want to keep it all try and see if you can get decals made (if you have an inkjet printer you can get special paper and make your own). Personally - I wouldn't worry about it.
  16. If the markings are engraved then you shouldn't be spraying so much paint as to obscure them anyway. If they're laser etched or painted then you're screwed whatever you do because they're not deep enough to hold any masking material (like wax).
  17. With regards to goggles though and specifically the Boogie Regulators - you have to take into account what they're designed for. Boogie regulators were originally designed as jump goggles for paratroops. They're only intended to work when you're moving fast enough to be forced air ventilated (so on a motorbike, falling out of the sky that kind of thing). Plenty of people seem to have been sucked into getting regulators because they are L33T Tacticool opr8tr goggles without realising that they will fog straight up the second you stand still.
  18. ESS ICE. Cheap as chips on ebay too.
  19. Yes, you should have put in the spring as it was.
  20. I used to support Liverpool, then I grew up and realised that football was rubbish and started watching MotoGP instead
  21. I get the insurance viewpoint and the whole section 5 spin stabilised explosive thing, but are they ACTUALLY any more capable of causing harm than a MK5 to the face? If knocking peoples eyepro off is the problem then that's no different than the kinetic rounds or even the marker rounds which everybody seems far happier about. An explosive going off in proximity to your face is a bad thing regardless of how it gets there.
  22. Actually - yes. Let's say you fire a pyro at someone from a launcher. You hit someone a reasonable distance away and it goes off with the force of a MK5. You then throw an actual MK5 at someone again at a sensible distance and it just happens to go off when it reaches them. They both have the same explosive force and are both in a similar proximity to the target. So tell me - what is the difference in terms of risk of personal injury?
  23. And that's different from throwing a MK5 at someone how?
  24. If you went for the WAS Nemesis rig which is very similar, the pouches are designed to take M4, AK or G36 mags. http://www.uktactical.com/p-9400-warrior-assault-systems-nemesis-chest-rig-mk1-coyote-tan.aspx
