sixmm are c**ts for this ordered 4 parts from them, 3 are ready to ship and the other is still being picked. been that way for 3 weeks now

I have a dboys aks74u that has the block to hold the hop in place too personally never had to use tape or anything else to hold stuff in place and i've done several AKs seeing as it's a mixture of different parts that could be why it has said "quirks" I have a fixed stock aps receiver on the way from china for a parts build I want to do so it might be the same one ?

The feed tube is in a totally different place to a regular AK mag, you can buy those types of mags for a regular ak too If you don't need them I'm happily accepting donations ?

Continuing the £20 masada story, stripped the God awful black paint from it (and some of the original) ? Sorted the non existent safety, changed the 10yr old hop rubber, adjusted the motor and general tidying After stripping the paint there were a few stains left over but I feel it gives it a used look which is fine. Acquired some mags from @Colin Allen and it feeds and fires at 310fps on a .25

So stripped off the paint (and some original paint) Came out better than I thought, gives the kinda dirty used look as the paint has stained the plastic in places. Sorted out the non existent safe setting, currently shooting at 310fps on a .25. Many thanks to @Colin Allenfor the mags and for the tips on painting from everyone

So the biostrip works fine on the plastic parts but the metal upper has started to lose it's original coating as well as the paint. someone pass me a rattle can.............

Yep me too, then do my usual thing of gutting it and rebuilding it to my liking ?

So I decided to go with biostrip and I'm pleased with the Initial results. Tested on a small area to begin with and it loosened the paint within 10minutes. Coated the handguard today and left it for half an hour, cleaned most the paint off except for a few areas that seemed thicker. Coated it again and it's mostly come off. There are a few darker areas after cleaning off but I can live with it. May have another go but the initial results are good

Always a good idea to swap out the hop rubber from standard. Clean out your inner barrel too

Yeah I got an xl version too as I'm a chunky boy. Don't use it anymore though as they are heavy and get too hot

So I recently acquired this pts masada akm and am looking to probably use it but first I'd like to remove this god awful kryptek style paint job it has. From the look of it the gun was tan originally, would I beable to get it back to that or am I hoping too much? Any advice on products to use, techniques etc is very much appreciated TIA

the advice I was given before was to put a little dab of superglue on the bottom part and the grip should hold it in place when put back on

hop might be set to zero so there's nothing putting pressure on the bbs to keep them in the barrel
