I'm a big fan of my Double Eagle M906C... Added a used PTS EPS-S stock for more battery space... And after a recent paint job... Metal receiver and handguard, it's very nicely made and great value for money. The provided spring won't last long, but the quick change mechanism is super easy to use.

Cheap but decent batteries can be had here... https://hobbyking.com/en_us/lifestyle/airsoft/airsoft-batteries.html You'll probably want a couple of Turnigy 7.4v LiPos for each Specna to keep you going through a whole day

I've got one... Plastic guns They're sooooo much better than they used to be. Case in point, my original old school Tokyo Marui AK47-S was a creaky old thing with fairly unimpressive plastic. Contrast with my Double Eagle M904G which has a very solid polymer construction. There are of course still some poor plastic gats at the cheapest end of the ranges, but the mid-range guns no longer need to be discounted as rubbish, if you want to save weight they're perfectly respectable now.

It's a million times better than the 3d printed one I bought ages ago, but it's not as nice as others I own But for £4.50 each "mustn't grumble" ? -

You pull the trigger and.... ...You've got the safety on, and you swear so loudly thinking it's broken that your enemy hears you, turns around and shoots you ...You've forgotten to cock it (more swearing, same result. Should buy a double action pistol next time) ...You've forgotten to put a magazine in it, they're all still nicely ensconced in their pouches ...You've forgotten to put BBs in the magazine ...You've run out of gas already cos you spent too much time showing off how well it shoots in the cold Or... ... You draw the pistol from the holster and manage to very smoothly eject the magazine in the same movement None of these things have ever happened to me, honest! -
... Or Double Eagle ??

No for some odd reason it's missing from the gen3 I don't think they're very expensive, is the only positive thing I can say about that!

Which one should I buy - You Decide!

I don't think so. I probably would not want to put a suppressor on, it'd slow down my Super Speedy Tactical Quick Draw (TM) But if you're keen, then this is (from what I've heard) a beast of a gun with the best range and accuracy, and it takes a suppressor Here's a bundle... https://www.defconairsoft.co.uk/product/tokyo-marui-fnx-45-tactical-gbb-pistol-black-bundle/ -

I know it's an obvious choice, and it's a plastic slide, but there's a reason everyone goes for them... https://www.defconairsoft.co.uk/product/tokyo-marui-hi-capa-4-3-gbb-pistol/ ... Reliable in all weathers, accurate, easy to upgrade later if you want to. I can personally recommend this one https://www.defconairsoft.co.uk/product/tokyo-marui-hi-capa-5-1-d-o-r-direct-optics-ready-gbb-pistol/ It's slightly upgraded on the standard hi caps, iirc. -
Looking very good...

You had the mags with the feed lips facing down, I hope! But even then, any moisture getting into the system is going to be tricky... tolerances around the nozzle and inside the barrel are fine, even if they're all over the place everywhere else, it's not going to take much to spoil the feeding and accuracy. And the temperature will mess with the gas system enormously. Almost every pistol I've seen test-fired at the chrono on a cold day is either parping out BB's at super-slow speed, or just de-gassing in a cloud of disappointment. (With the exception of plastic slide TM's, obviously ;)) It's going to be the same with rifles, unfortunately. I have used my 416 at 10 centigrade reasonably successfully. But less than that and I decide not to have a possibly sour experience with my favourite gat

I didn't bother taking my 416 to the last game day, at around 3°C I thought the chances of having it work reliably were extremely low. All the stuff you experienced sounds like low temperature problems that would have been suffered by any GBBR, with the possible exception of an MWS

Tokyo Marui AK47-S spare parts supplier?
RostokMcSpoons replied to RostokMcSpoons's topic in Electric Guns
Cheers matey, but I've looked around, buggered if I can find the part number for the stock release button! It kind of works as it is though, no great problem! The gearbox cover thing I'll get off Etsy. -
What would the most "function over form" AEG look like?
RostokMcSpoons replied to Herrgh's topic in Electric Guns
I actually find the M4 platform to be very ergonomic and enjoyable to use. I do like the rearward weight bias of bullpups, quite handy when I an aiming stance for a while. But for a pure plastic slinging device, then I'd probably go for an HPA'd hi-capa or SMG. As light and short as possible, wankerish RoF with a drum mag. (An MP7, with the exception of the wanker RoF might well be on my shopping list ?) -

We're both wearing the same boots, it's proof! We should inform the MoD that their combats boots will get their troops killed. They might give us a medal! -

Feck me, I have un-camouflaged shoe laces, this must be why I get shot so often. What a schoolboy error! I am ashamed. £15, cheap at twice / half / twelvety [delete as applicable] the price! -
Chronographs - any cheap recommendations?
RostokMcSpoons replied to ParHunter's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
There's a cheap bluetooth-enabled chrono at Ali which comes with a little tripod, for the princely sum of £27.33, 5 day delivery. M'daughter asked me what I'd like for Chrimbo, I might tell her this... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006246367695.html -

Chronographs - any cheap recommendations?
RostokMcSpoons replied to ParHunter's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
So that looks very similar internals from the one Colin and I have, wrapped up in a larger cheap plastic case, but crucially with a larger aperture to shoot into... For £25 it's a good choice -
Chronographs - any cheap recommendations?
RostokMcSpoons replied to ParHunter's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I have the one Colin has linked. It works fine It's not super great, it's got a small aperture and the thing that affixes to the front panel to help align the barrel is very fiddly to change. Eventually you'll get bored changing it and just hand-hold the darned thing. Mine bears the scars on the inside where I've not lined it up correctly. Eventually I'll probably break it! But it's definitely useful to check the muzzle velocity to ensure everything is working as expected. And won't fail chrono. -
Action Hobbies Boneyard - possible buyer's remorse ;)
RostokMcSpoons replied to RostokMcSpoons's topic in General Help
Yeah but you'd have had to take the role off Peter Serafinowicz*, and he deserved an easy payday, IMHO * Would probably have got more well paid gigs in his career if his name was easier to spell -
Tokyo Marui AK47-S spare parts supplier?
RostokMcSpoons replied to RostokMcSpoons's topic in Electric Guns
I had another quick test fire with this today, and I enjoyed shooting it. The rate of fire is a bit uninspiring though, I'd rather like to boost it up a bit to 15 minimum, ideally 18 rps. I could just stick in an 11.1v but I know from (brief) experience it'll turn into Ol' Sparky... so that'd need a cheapo MOSFET to tame it. Any recommendations for a cheap and small one? Would the stock internals take the extra workload successfully, or is it a silly idea to mess with it? -

The MC51 was the G3 version I wanted, but I have to say the long battle rifle thang feels GOOOOD Totally impractical, but good ? -
Double Eagle M904g – Aka the Original Q Honey Badger
RostokMcSpoons replied to mightyjebus's topic in AEG/GBBR Reviews
The stock spring losses oomph quite quickly in my experience, so the original FPS is rather lost in the mists of time. Getting around 260 with the correct hop applied now (which lowers the FPS quite a bit). Not sure what spring is inside! I think I had an m105 in my 906c when I first changed out the stock spring, it'll be in one of my old threads
