  1. Agreed, a decent battery charger is no more than £50. years ago, a legit iMax B6 was only £30, I imagine 10 years later with inflation it’s a lot more expensive… but still a drop in the ocean compared to an AEG that cost £1000 or more!
  2. I have fitted two of the solid grips and 3 of the skeleton grips. The magazine fit isn’t tight, the magazine “tightness” is about the same as an OEM grip. The solid and skeleton grips are reasonably robust. I’ve only managed to break one of them, and that was the skeleton grip by over tightening the grip screws. i imagine if you drop the skeleton grip, without a magazine, it might be liable to crack. But the regular solid grip is far more robust. I havent needed to do much sanding, it’s been a drop in fitment with most of the parts on the market. i only found you needed to sand the magazine release area a bit if you’re using the oversized extended magazine releases.
  3. Airtac, AT and FC all do Odin M12 adapters. you should be fine loading the AKM mags using a genuine M12 and a decent adapter.
  4. I’m a bit late to this thread. So hopefully you’ve not bought just yet. if you’re going to run a pistol only as your first gun, I’d recommend something simple, reliable and easy to upgrade/repair. That narrows it down to the TM Hicapa in my opinion. It’s very reliable, plentiful, easy to use and a wealth of parts to repair if it breaks. the HK45 is a great pistol but isn’t the easiest for repairing if it breaks. I’d also ask you to consider they Tokyo Marui Gen5 MOS. It’s fantastic out of the box. Theres a few options for spares and repairs, but there will be a flood of new parts in the foreseeable future. It’s less simple to work on. But works so well that you shouldn’t need to upgrade much.
  5. Taken from a WhatsApp group I’m part of ?
  6. When I was at university, my housemates girlfriend used to visit on Tuesdays. For bit of fun, I used to do Taco Tuesdays for the house. As she only ever saw me cook Tacos… She assumed I was Mexican…
  7. I don’t “need” 20 glocks… but here we are… I have 5 Gen5 MOS slides and not enough glocks to put them on ?
  8. They have the V2 mags at AW if you’re already buying a G17.5
  9. Must… not… buy… another one ???
  10. Currently those cases are on offer for £52 which means they’re about £67 after taxes are added. Which is a great price ? just consider, IF they were to sell them at full price for £90 (plus taxes), there’s a British shop that sells pre-cut pistol hard cases for £85. The case shop do MAX cases with pre cut foam for £85 and I think shipping is free (?) at least it was when I bought one
  11. This is me as well. If I don’t get email notifications about it, I don’t check it for a week. Personally, I reckon it’s down to level of effort and quality of the goods. The sellers ignoring questions want your money and that’s it… if you’re inclined to ask questions, you’re probably already too much effort for them. The chances are you’d contact them once you received the goods and realised it’s not as good as you expected. Dealt with a few people over the years who sell dodgy kit and then block you once they’ve got your money and thrown it in the post.
  12. Are you using the purple nineball airseal hop rubber? If so, nineball purple hop rubber is a soft rubber (it’s something like a 50 degree), so it’s only really good for .3g and lighter. if you want to be hopping .36s, try their “hard” compound bucking (red). Also, at .36, you might need a tensioner in the hop arm. I use a Hadron hang cut down into a T shape to complement the unbridged section of the inner barrel. alternatively the Pink flamingo and noir 60s are good and have a large contact surface for heavier bbs. how are you getting on with the detonator threaded barrel?
  13. Posted on there instead, I’ll leave this one as I can’t close it down or delete it.
  14. These are my cases: most of them use shadow foam. however I found a company called max case that do factory fitted generic laser cut foam. So that’s where all my short mags go!
  15. My bad! I had a look but must have been looking for the wrong key words! what’s the thread called?
  16. I was looking through the forum and I haven’t seen a thread dedicated to people’s kit bags or cases. Personally all of my stuff if organised into several Nuprol cases, Peli cases, max cases. Recently shadow foam have been doing a purple foam which looks quite nice ? My magazine case is a max case with laser cut inserts (comes like this from factory so it’s fairly cheap).
  17. *edit ive read back a little bit and realised this has already been covered… but im going to leave this here anyway* If you look at the Royal Mail terms of carriage, they’ve removed most explicit mentions of Airsoft or RIF. The only reference states is must be sent via a service of first class or better. This must have been done this year because I posted a pistol last November and their ToC states no RIFs had to be sent guaranteed next day. This time around, that same paragraph has been removed. In theory, if it fits into the small/medium package dimensions, you could send it via a Royal Mail tracked service that covers the value of your RIF (that probably means RM24/48 or guaranteed by 1pm. https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/96/~/prohibited-and-restricted-items---advice-for-personal-customers
  18. there’s no reliable date for when they’ll be in stock ? impulse 101 have stopped taking orders of the gen5 because there’s no restock date from TM.
  19. I thought there were a few places selling the new gen2 mags for less than £30… but I’ve just reloaded my tabs and the prices have hiked ?
  20. Pay me £1400 based on one potato quality photo and a single sentence ?
  21. Also, is there any interest in the after market detonator slides? I have a spare detonator slide that I could part with. It’s the “standard” slide. Just needs the guts and it’s ready to go ?? I bought one of each for my own curiosity and didnt get around to skirmishing this one. I’ll formally list it on the forum at the end of the week ?
  22. You could try big Steve’s builds? He’s based around Dorset/Hampshire way. He’s very good with GBB - not sure about AEG though.
  23. A lot of their manuals are in the TM website in Japanese (thank god for built in google translate on chrome). some of the newer manuals such as the AKX, AKM and G17.5 aren’t digitised on their website from what I can see. sometimes if you’re lucky, fire support have got digital copies listed on their website to download for free.
  24. Played at Special Ops HQ - the fireplace in Milton Keynes on Friday night. It was a rare opportunity for a night game as I’m not normally in area on a Friday night. I spent the whole night trying not to get shot in the face, thinking about the wedding photos for my friend… instead of getting shot in the face, someone got a good angle and I was shot in the “two veg”… I was then shot a few more times because my hand wasn’t raised ? Anyway, it was an awesome night and a good indoor venue - I’d highly recommend giving the site a visit. I ran my GHM9-G and a few TM glocks - I’m very impressed with the GHM9 and loved that one type of magazine serviced both RIFs ??
  25. Latest edition to my pistol collection. Wiitech make an aluminium slide with steel threaded barrel. looks fantastic with a comp and also takes a light weight tracer unit with no problems.
