  1. Had another one in Elite Midnight
  2. you probably want a gen3 or gen4 frame done? Have a look at Boomarms and ArmsAholics for pre-stippled frames. Having tried a few - IMO ArmsAholic are the best. But boomarms offer a large variety of stippling - for example for a Wilson combat frame boomarms do it. No one else does right now. If you essentially want a Salient or agency arms style job done, I’d recommend ArmsAholics.
  3. A bunch of bits arrived from HK to test. more JDG magwells, cowcow guide rod angry gun RMR mounts. the JDG magwells are frustrating. They look great, but you have to take a dremel to the inside of the Magwell so that it doesn’t compress the Magwell. If you don’t, it grips the Magwell making it hard to remove the magazine. CCT guide rod arrives pre assembled and all you have to do is install the short strokes if you desire. Easy to install. Angry gun rmr mount is solid ??
  4. That’s about right - the fishing lure tritium vials you get are about 1.6mmx5mm. You can sometimes get watch specification tritium vials from Switzerland which are brighter. They tend to be a lot more expensive but it’s still cheaper than buying pre made tritium sights.
  5. £15 on eBay and a bit of super glue, you can convert those sights in tritium sights ?? I can’t remember the hole size, I think it’s 1.6mm.
  6. For me, there’s core things I look for at any site (maybe not entirely applicable given I’ve read your post for a second time more thoroughly. Decent/present marshalling. Amicable and honest regular players. Other things I look for are:p Addressing of bottle necks: For example stair cases and long corridors are absolute meat grinders and not fun for anyone who doesn’t have a foothold. Lots of these problems can be solved with intermediate barriers that favour the team who’s disadvantaged. Innovative or humorous games: I've played a few sites with fun or different objective based games. For example, retrieving objectives from a helicopter or having to carry a mannequin from one point to another. You’ve got to be careful not to make it too complex as some of us listening to the brief have the attention span of a goldfish. Layout: sort of inline with the bottleneck point - sites need to have multiple access routes. Having multiple stair cases to an objective gives teams options for tactics. If it’s just one route in and out, it becomes a meat grinder. one of the best sites I’ve played at recently was the Fireplace in Milton Keynes - the site is very small. But set out as a multifaceted kill house, so in all circumstances, the site can be opened up or closed off to funnel players or free up movement.
  7. Firesupport sell E&C glocks - you could drop them and email and ask? They might be able to look and one and give you a definite answer?
  8. Yes - nice one! I forgot to mention pro arms do a good set of tritium sights. detonator do photo-reactive sights as well. They also do a set of Tarran style fibre sights. wiitech do a whole variety of aluminium sights. I bought a pair and I’m pleasantly surprised by the quality given they were so cheap.
  9. Since January, I’ve been doing a lot of research on the TM G17.5 and now have 4 of them. As a result, I’ve been buying and trying new things on the market. I thought it might be useful for a thread with the parts available and what works, what doesn’t. Here are two that I’ve finished. The other two are still waiting on parts. The only upgrade part I’d say is required, is an uprated hammer spring if you’re running green gas. All of my G17.5s light strike when running green gas/propane. The stock slide is carbon polymer so *should* manage fine with green gas. uprated hammer springs: Guarder - not sure Cowcow Tech (CCT)- 120% The CCT full spring set is about £15 from Empire. Pro Arms also do a spring set but doesn’t include hammer spring. Everything else is pretty much optional. I’d also recommend upgrading the piston lid and nozzle return spring. CCT do a piston lid CCT and Proarms do nozzle return springs. Both are good. The Proarms pack is better value for money IMO. Slides that I’m aware of Detonator (all drop in, no modifications required): G17 - standard G17 - boresight solutions G34 - TTI Detonator also do a couple of limited editions specific for the South Korean market… but you’d need a mate in South Korea to buy you one and ship it. Proarms (all drop in apparently - not tried them though): G17 - FDE/black cerakote Wii-tech: G17 - standard - steel or aluminium (both with steel barrel) - G17 - tactical - steel or aluminium (both with threaded steel barrel and 6.03 TBB) note: the aluminium slides were drop in. The steel slide I’ve been sent does not work and Wiitech are looking into why. Mafioso: Full steel G17 kit - required modification to the TM BBU to work. Guarder: Not yet released but the steel slide kit looks promising. 5KU: Aluminium standard slide kit - haven’t tried but heard 5KU quality has improved recently. Outer Barrels: none of the aluminium threaded outer barrels worked with a metal slide and tracer for me. But I’m sure I’ve seen people on Reddit using theirs with a tracer. The aluminium barrels work with the stock slide and a tracer. Detonator threaded outer barrel Proarms threaded outer barrel C&C tac threaded outer barrel w/Roland style comp. Other Accessories: JDG do a very cool magwell. JDG also do magazine extensions for V2 mags. Bomber do a TTI style magwell. Guarder, CCT and Wiitech do aftermarket recoil rods guarder does the serial number delete plate. it sounds like Guarder might be doing steel internals and also a nylon polymer aftermarket grip. MOS sight plates Detonator - version for RMR/SRO. works well, good fit. Bomber - Version for RMR/DPP/ACRO. Can’t comment on the ACRO or DPP but the RMR is a good fit. Angry Gun - Versions for RMR/DPP/ACRO. Can’t comment on the DPP but the ACRO and RMR are good fit C&C Tac - RMR only. haven’t tried but looks similar to the angry gun version 5KU - RMR only. haven’t tried but their quality has got better recently. Revanchist - RMR only. Probably the most disappointing of the lot to be honest. Fits well. But very basic design compared to all the others. Iron Sights detonator: Photo-reactive high sights. tarran style fibre sights. pro arms: tritium high sights. They’re quite expensive… but when have tritium sights been cheap? wiitech: Aluminium low sights aluminium high sights with a couple of different options. Things to avoid: I’d recommend avoiding Gunday. I bought a set of sights and Magwell off them. The sights can’t be fitted without drilling extra holes into the slide. The Magwell requires modification to the frame… if anyone else has feedback, it might be good to feedback here to help people avoid lemons or buyers remorse.
  10. to be fair, I have a cherry Red Cherry G17 gen3, so midnight brown is quite conservative ? yeah. You can’t control how quickly they get through the orders.
  11. My latest Marui G17.5. cerakoted in Midnight Bronze by West Laser ??
  12. Got one of my G17s back from West Laser. Posted it on Monday. Arrived back today. I highly recommend them ??
  13. “Unsure of make…” *includes photo that clearly says ARES in the part number*
  14. Nothing illegal about it. I used to have a Hong Kong school friend who brought his rig over in his hold luggage. theoretically you could bring it in your carry on, but it would raise eyebrows and not be worth the hassle.
  15. This ☝? Burn down your workplace, not your house.
  16. thanks! I’ll start using that instead of relying on the AF-UK system.
  17. Has anyone else noticed their “my attachments” section is broken? whenever I click on attachments from the account menu, I get this error: I have contacted AF-UK about this however I thought I’d ask and see if I’m the only one or if it’s a wider problem? I’ve tried a few things with my web browser but none of it has fixed it, which makes me think the problem isn’t on my end.
  18. Get the bomber or the angry gun ACRO plate. Boomarms and JKarmy have them. WGC also do the angry gun one and shipping is only £7 for orders under £90.
  19. so I’ve now got two of these. The one below with aluminium slide, steel barrel and ACRO. I’ve built an identical one with steel slide and micro pro sight. Despite its bulk, the gen5 doesn’t seem to struggle shifting the ACRO and it’s pretty easy to aim.
  20. I haven’t had the issue on the GHM9 but it’s common on glocks. Typically due to over travel on the hammer blocking the valve. Not sure about the GHM9. Mine doesn’t do it, but I run Marui spec mags. I assume the hammer has some way of rotating up and out of the way when a magazine has been inserted, so I’d look at whether the knocker has any upwards movement. if that’s all fine, You could try different output valves?
  21. personally I’d avoid any NPAS. Stick to a fixed valve design. Maybe NPAS have come a long way since I last used them, but fundamentally they were less stable and consistent than a regular valve. for the AKX it’s quite simple - you just search AKX on a site like JKArmy or Firesupport. Everything explicitly compatible will reference the AKX. Some of the AKM stuff will fit, but it requires more research. The 130% recoil spring is fine on its own. But if you’re going to open it up, why not change the piston head as well for a better experience. The heavy weight piston heads aren’t expensive and add to the recoil.
  22. I think online retailing and small site shops are the way it’s going. Lots of upgrades are specifically spec’d for TM. So selling Vorsk (for example) makes for a headache in terms of after sales. Theres a few shops around to who sell Vorsk and then TM spec upgrades… but don’t want anything to do with the problems that arise when they’ve sold both to one of their customers ? You’ve also got retailers such as Empire who get stuff in far cheaper than Zero one or FS can get. That might be because they have lower running costs due to having no physical shop. My local shop in Cardiff closed down and merged with their CQB site. It makes a lot of sense as most of their sales are on game days.
  23. the danger makes it more exciting ?
  24. So I’ve had an AKX since the week it was released. As of yet, it hasn’t skipped a beat. The only “reliability” issues I’ve seen are so infrequent that it’s likely just bad luck. my trigger box arrived in a non-working condition. But it was just a spring that hasn’t been fitted properly. Took 5 minutes to fix. But I’m the only AKX owner I know of who’s actually had issues of any sort that aren’t related to modifications. I’m hopping 0.28s out to 45m and getting headshots. The hop dial is still down at below 50%. I reckon I could run far heavier bbs at longer range if need be. Upgrades that are absolutely necessary: - Bavtac/bowmaster/jaeger power down valve. upgrades I’d highly recommend - jaeger hop arm - pink flamingo hop rubber - Bowmaster 130% recoil spring - Magpul MOE+ AK grip Other upgrades I’ve gone with: - bowmaster full steel trigger mechanism - tight bore SS barrel - AB-8R stock - Hephaestus steel selector - Hephaestus steel trigger - Hephaestus heavy weight piston Maintenance wise: - Clean the inner barrel out after every game day. If bought brand new, it comes with a barrel cleaning rod. Use strips of dry microfibre cloth or microfibre cloth soaked in IPA. - I always wipe din the bolt and brush out the lower receiver after a game day. - use a decent metal on metal lubricant for the lower receiver and bolt. I use white lithium, but I don’t recommend it as it’s quite easy to over apply and make worse. - use a decent silicone oil for plastic on metal surfaces. - spend some time learning how to strip and disassemble the bolt/nozzle unit and the trigger mechanism. Hopefully you never need to open the trigger mechanism… but you’ll definitely need to learn about the nozzle as you’ll need to fit the power down nozzle valve. Jaeger precision and commie bear Airsoft do some good videos that taught me a lot.
